- In this video, I make a one version of a Blacksmiths Finishing Wax recipe, that I found in my old notes that was given to me by my Mentor Reg when I was a Teen. This type is by weight of boiled linseed oil (BLO) and wax finish.
100g (3.52oz) of boiled linseed oil,
100g (3.52oz) of Gum Turpentine (NOT MINERAL OR WHITE SPIRIT)
100g (3.52oz) of beeswax
TURPENTINE IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE, So please, make sure you are doing this in a well ventilated area, away from any open flame. This Blacksmiths Finishing wax recipe works on metal. wood and leather.
Hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching.

I think some of the all natural pine gum turpentine here in the US is food safe to an extent. Some people take a spoonful orally as a gut cleanser for bacteria or parasites. Not saying I'd advise it though, and am pleased to have not been in need of finding out... I think eucalyptus is toxic to an extent, if I remember hearing that correctly. Cheers.
I made some of this stuff several months ago and still haven't had a chance to use it
You will mate. When you get the chance to I know you will!
