I had no idea the normal map node was deprecated. They could at least put all these nodes under a "deprecated" tab or something. Would be very helpful because redshift is acumulating a number of legacy features and it generates a lot of confusion for starting users.
This has been requested in the wish list forum but isnt a high priority but I am sure will happen eventually since a good amount of stuff is now legacy and deprecated.
Great video. I think the hardest thing about learning RS is the arbitrary number scaling on certain attributes. Some settings need to be .01, or -8, or 100. It's hard to know/guess on these settings so you just have to remember which attributes need to be tiny decimals or large whole numbers.
Thanks for great explanation. Was pretty much confused how to use bump and normal maps in Redshift. Your video explained the related workflow perfectly. 🤘
Great tutorial, thanks! I do wish you would do brief explanations e.g. MIP Bias but I can see I need to hit the manual. Principles are how we newbies remember, not just cook booking it.
I know some older texture software make "green" normal maps that have differences in axial information. What would be the settings to adapt a green-based normal?
Very good tutorial, learned a lot! I was looking into this model. Could you show us how you did this model? I can't figure it out... Would be much appreciated.
With the recent update, you can use C4D's new node System. I haven't used it yet, but will I be able to follow along with this tutorial using the node system, or is this out of date?
you definitely will be able. At first, classic node graph is still available by default. And also this C4D's new node system contain all the same RS nodes with exact same inputs and outputs. So nothing changed in fundamental logic. Just UI.
@@laurencechase5439 the triplanar node is jacking you up. get rid of it or tweak the settings. i realize this is a year ago, i hope you solved your problem lol
We really need more tutorials like this on RS channel

Same thoughts +1

they could just call it normal map legacy

The MIP bias was a fantastic one. Thank you.
Thank you very much.
Thanks and for the subtitles, you are the only one I watched
That was really good. I hope more c4d tutorials comes

More please. Good to know that the Normal Map Node is now outdated.
redshift really dropped the ball on making a solid library of tutorials.
Dude, this is amazing, Thanks a lot !
Very good explanation, thank you from Spain :)
Brillaint tutorial
Powerful and effective tutorial. Thanks
really helpfull! thanks!
1:56 to skip intro
Thank you.
Thank you!!
Thanks!!
loved it
Why would the MIP bias be at 1 by deafault? It seems to take away so much detail

Thank you guys for that content !
Very good tutorial, learned a lot!

Wondering what version of RS this is. I don't have a pull down for bump map type
Thanks!

It good thank you but why using nodes? It's like studying greek
When a connect bump my material looks weird. Seems like my phong is 0 degree or smth like that. Anybody help please
Yes I'm having the same problem!

I wish there was a convert c4d shader to redshift....
It's in the utilities tab in redshift material menu.
Very nice. But one question; what is the TriPlanar node doing exactly?
why do people texture with nodes, for me its so annoying
