I've seen circles cut in the ice by school science classes, clubs and groups of people. If the water is flowing underneath, the ice disc will spin. I've also seen people cut them, then put the back wheel of a motor scooter on it to get them to spin. I've seen different people use different things to make them spin. That quad looks pretty cool and I actually liked the flight camera view better than the DJI 2. Nice video too, it reminds me of when I lived in Colorado.
This is probably one of the top 10 in my book as far as drones you reviewed. I really like it. It seems like it flys really well. I’m really hoping we get to see a summer review with this drone

This GEPRC FPV drone is another beautiful creation!
Such an interesting medium sized race drone that flies like a Camera drone.
This one literally costs 9 times less than a Nazgul 5 which is unbelievable that its of 516 dollars with DJI air unit whereas the Nazgul 5 (with DJI goggles) costs more than 4,600!
I think its worth the bucks and one will have a blast with it!

I took the screws out of my Geprc Mark 5 to adjust camera angle of O3 unit, I set it as I wanted, now I wanna put the screws back ( they are all exactly same, 4x ) and they just stuck half way??? Like I can screw them back in just a little bit and then they both stay in the same spot leaving like 3mm gap to the actual drone. I tried to push a bit heavier but no help and also don’t wanna try pushing really hard and break the camera lol. What is going on? Please help me I beg you I’m losing my mind I got this drone 7th day now and I still wasn’t out flying cos there is ALWAYS a problem. I just finally charged my bats, set everything on Beta Flight and now this poop💩. Omfg….

They cut the large circle of ice then cut and place a boat motor on one side close to edge of circle to create a ice merry-go-round. 🙂

It was because people walking in an enclosed area (a beach) are unpredictable and to show an FPV drone you must fly low through and around objects so the odds of hitting someone increases. I’m all about safety when it comes to flying FPV near lots of groups of people that are unaware of a fast moving drone.

I have a question I have an analog system and am looking to upgrade from my emax tiny hawk 2 freestyle dose anyone have a good suggestion for a good 6s quad
Flight times for 1050 or 1300 6s are sadly missing and as I stated direct to GepRC - The motors are too small for this kwad. They have the same sized motors for the Vista version and this one with the AU. The Vista version should be faster due to being lighter than the AU as it's a brick. They also usually put an idea of flight time on the website but there's nothing. Up to today, there was only 1 promotional vid up for this kwad. Nicely done as usual though.
My flight times are difficult to show in freezing weather as it kills flight time. When I flew with the 850 mAh 6S I was surprised at how good the flight time was. I landed with no battery warnings. Length of my flight time can be measured by length of the flight video, and add an additional minute (there is extra camera setup time filming prior to take off with battery connected, not shown as well as I cut out one pass over my head on landing, not shown in vid).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 understandable as the cold kills lipos quicker than normal. The decision to go with sub 2207 motors is a bit of a mistake and maybe a deal breaker for many. These motors with a vista and 6s 1100 would work but not with the air unit and a GoPro too. I was surprised when they released those motors. All good for super light builds but not this one. When it comes to FPV you want something for your skills and not mine. All of the FPV Quads you mentioned are all above average in design and performance.

I would watch my video series: CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS. It will fill your head with knowledge so that items in the FPV hobby seem clear and you can make easy decisions. A quick answer to your question is the most common receiver is an FRSKY XM+ and the most common radio is a RADIOMASTER TX16s. After you watch my series all will be clearer.

Don't you just love it when "someone" shows up. It's like you are driving down a deserted road for hours and you see no-one, you are desperate for a piss so pull over and the moment you unzip and start going 2 cars appear from nowhere!! or like my wife when I am getting changed in the bedroom, the moment you drop your pants she has to walk in and leave the door wide open and grab something insignificant and then leaves leaving the door open for all the kids and to see. Virtually every time she does this but denies doing it on purpose. You would think that for those few precious seconds you would be along .

@@InfinityDrones Let me clarify… the drone is fast, however I thought it would be lightning fast as in a Race drone but it is more like the iFlight drones and smoother for freestyle and filming.
I love gep rc... the smart 35 HD is fantastic! But... 5 inch... iflight evoque is unreal!
I like this drone. But looking at the receiver selection. Which is best to pair to DJI?
If you stick the CADDX VISTA or DJI FPV AIR UNIT in the unit and you own the DJI BLACK REMOTE CONTROLLER, then you just select PNP.

If you own the BLACK DJI FPV Controller/Radio and you order an FPV Drone with a CADDX VISTA or DJI AIR UNIT then you would select PNP for the receiver.
What accessories work well with this drone?
My video kept cutting out on me after a flip or roll. I installed a capacitor on the 12v pads problem solved.
Did you change the rates at all before flying or is it tuned that well out of the box?
In all my vids, I fly straight out of the box and never touch the rates or that would be a FALSE video as to what others could expect.
Really interested in buying one of these. What goggles and controller do you use? I would like to pick up a complete kit. Thanks!

Hi captain, I have a question I just bought the mark5 hd so I could use my dji goggles, I got it with no receiver cuz I still use spectrum, I have a dx9 will I have a problem putting a spectrum receiver in this? Thanks for the help and great video.
No problem. I can't recall, but you may have to solder the RX/TX or there may be a cable... can't recall.

Yes, just buy an FPV drone with a DEAD CAT frame.
VLOS compliant flight? What are the laws in Canada on this? Just want to know. I live in the US and can I bring my drone in to fly when I go to Vancouver BC? Or does Canada Customs block my entry with a drone?
Customs does not care about drones brought in and neither do Canadian airlines. In Canada we have drone regulations and not many people fly drones so if you do something to annoy people you will stand out. The rules for drones in Canada is stay clear of humans, moving cars, airports, building windows. Drones under 250 grams do not require the pilot to be certified to fly a drone, but those over 250 do require certification and the successful completion of a test. Finally for FPV, if you fly in a location where people visit, then you need a spotter with you. My wife & her friend often come out with me and wander around as I fly in areas with people to let me know when someone suddenly enters my established flying area.

Just got into the world of FPV. Got a radiomaster tx16s. With EV800d for a cheaper pair of goggles. I have a tinyhawk 2 just to start out with. Have been thinking about getting the iflight evoque f5d 6s. Trying to determine to either stay with analog, get better goggles, and get the analog version of drone. Or go digital. I am a freestyle kind of pilot, stunts, power loops, flying around fields etc. Any advice? Could I get the iflight evoque f5d 6s with no reciever then put a vista in it? That way I can buy the DJI goggles but keep my tx16s? Fly digital but with my tx16s? Or is that too much complicated work… Any advice is much appreciated
If you go digital it means you have purchased the DJI FPV Goggles. You can still use your TX16S even when flying with a digital camera since you are connecting to the receiver in the drone. If you place no receiver in a drone with a digital camera, then you need the DJI FPV REMOTE (BLACK ONE) which can bind to the digital camera transmitter.

Hi, I was so triggered by your video, that I ordered a mark 5 directly from geprc. It arrived on Monday and now I am struggling with a technical problem: I get no voltage or current reading in the betaflight configurator or the speedy bee app. Usually the battery or supply voltage is displayed on the left of the expert mode switch in the configurator, but with my mark 5 it only shows 0V all the time. Despite of this I power up,arm and fly without any problems. Can you help me out?
Did you go into betaflight OSD tab and pick exactly what you want to see? If you did and it shows something less than you want, then the info may not be going through the flight controller.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I don't even see a voltage reading in the betaflight configurator! Usually with all my other drones the configurator displays the lipo voltage or the usb-supply voltage of 4.7 V if no battery is connected. In the OSD of my dji fpv goggles it shows 0.0 V. What I don't understand: why is the flight controller not complaining about low battery if the voltage is 0V. Obviously the flight controller gets the information about the supply voltage, but even the configurator is not displaying it. I would assume, that a defunct voltage sensor would create a constant low battery warning.

Oh, it is not that easy because you are starting with very little knowledge of the FPV hobby. Watch my video series called CAPTAIN DRONE FPV FOR BEGINNERS and you’ll learn enough to make your own decisions.

Oh this looks like a fun drone for me to try.
Had an idea when you blew on your drone to get the snow off. Maybe keep an air duster in you bag. Just remember to store it in your coat while flying. Keep it warm so it will work properly when you need to use it. Less chance of snow melting from the warm air in your lungs. 😉
Only item I keep in my coat is hot coffee :-)

If I buy a digital drone can I use any is there any FPV goggles or do they have to be digital FPV goggles?
FPV drones with a DIGITAL camera made by DJI or CADDX require the use of the DJI FPV Goggles.

Hey, fellow Ottawa RPAS pilot here, I'm wondering how you're flying in Basic conditions above 250g without a spotter for LOS? Any trouble with law enforcement and do you find it easy enough to 'get by' without following all the regulations? I ask because I am about to start flying quads above 250g and have trouble finding a spotter for all my flights...
You must be new to my RUclips channel. Many, many videos ago I said I would not longer start each FPV video by pointing out my spotter, so you'll never hear me say that anymore. Sometimes my wife is with me sitting in my Jeep or walking in the fields I fly (you can spot her now and then) and other times the people you see in the video are all my RC Hobby friends and each one is aware of my flying.

Steve, nice video. Stay warm! Deserve a hot chocolate after that! As a DJI camera drone pilot and want to get into FPV, would this “x” frames be the right approach or the DJI FPV be the best option in your opinion? I have a feeling the built in Saftey/brake etc is the way to go. Unless there’s a nominal cost alternative.
The DJI FPV drone allows you to fly in a very beginner stabilized mode as well as a stabilized sport mode so even your grandma could fly it. However it also has a full FPV mode which is crazy hard for beginners so it’s best to take out the DJI insurance.
For what it's worth I'd way rather get something like this than the dji fpv drone personally.
Especially if you want to do more freestyle type stuff or racing or anything.
If you just want to get some videos of you cruising around with abit more action and speed than with a regular camera drone and don't want the hassle of like learning to charge lipos and such the dji fpv might be OK for you.
Of course the ability to fix or mod them yourself would be much better with something like this.
You can get something like this or like the iflight nazgul (which are great rtf quads) in a package now with the goggles and everything which is handy for starting out if you want digital.
Plus, me I don't like all the geofencing and stuff they put on the dji drone/s.
I don't know if you'd want to start out with a full 5" quad like this though if you've never flown fpv or across before.
Might be abit much, but you can always start out on self levelling mode or lower the rates and all if it is. And use a simulator.

In the world of FPV you have the BIG name players who are: GEPRC, FLYWOO, IFLIGHT, HGLRC. BETAFPV, etc. They have been around for a very long time and they are the reason the FPV hobby is big. The complaints usually come from Newbies that have zero knowledge and usually get themselves stuck or break items. Those who have been in the hobby have zero issues.
