Failed Maryland Bridge replaced with Dental Implants.

Dr. Rich shows how a failed Maryland dental bridge is replaced by a dental implant bridge. Two loose lower incisors are removed and two dental implants are placed. Once the implants have healed, custom posts and a three tooth bridge in placed to replace the missing teeth.

Why not have sone 3 implants?

Hi, usually there is not enough room for more than 2 implants. If a person is loosing their lower incisors, it's common to remove all 4 lower incisors and replace them with a bridge on 2 implants. There are some implant companies that make very small implants, usually around 3mm wide by 6mm long that can be used to replace individual lower incisors.

why would you mention zirconias biocompatibility when talking about titanium implants? anyways would it be possible to bond a maryland bridge on both sides of the teeth. (aesthetics don’t matter) until you can afford a single implant.

In some cases, zirconia abutments are used. What you are describing is a traditional 3 unit bridge. The teeth would need to be cut down to allow room for the bridge. If you just bond over top of the teeth, they won't fit the bite anymore.
