Love to see the enthusiasm and gaming videos! However, VR is the closest you'll get to being in the car. It's a night and day difference compared to a flat screen. (I have 1000 hours in DR 2.0 in VR and switched to a flat screen for WRC)
Yes. Unfortunately i don´t see U4 or U5 being good for VR, see ACC...

Had it on pre order, played it 30mins then returned it. I have experience racing cars, and this does not handle correctly. Also the stages are bland.

could they please stop saying 'intuitive' we get it. you made it easy to just pick up and play for any skill level. intuitive is code for arcade. we get it.
Still has stuttering problems on pc with amd 6800xt ! Update a bit of a let down and the tarmac physics is crazy . Also older red cars are a nightmare ! Ea please fix this ..
Been using since it came out. Lots of good stuff, but I find the cars seem a bit disconnected from the road in some stages. In Championship mode big hiccup. Leave the start line first gear change the gear change indicator indicates the change but it appears there is a drive line failure. Tried this with different cars and stages.
I’m loving this game so far! Wish u had a sim rig like that but even with a game pad it’s great!

@@parzivalstanza1759 It's playable on controller for me, but the game is unplayable as a whole. The cars physics are subpar at best and the roads are too wide especially on the Finland stages. Also a lack of camber on most roads, too.

u can play this game w a controller or even keyboard, these dudes are jus really into virtual racing
why that game looks so mutch beter than my computer and im play 2k resolution all ultra +60fps

unfortunately, no. the DirtFish grounds was not added to the game. not sure if they'll add it in the future.

interesting to see that wheel has no angle, who ever reasonable for installing that rig has no clue what they doing
No one mentions car set up because we need to now by choosing better suspention gear ratios you can go faster what is this car set up details or are you using standard settings

I'm interested in the suspension and differential.
Of course everyone drives a bit differently, but I would have liked to compare Armstrong's settings with mine.

THis game is great however the graphics shown in this video are way above what they are on most pc's at the moment, if only they were truly this good then it would be a five star game in my opinion however as it stands at the moment with the stuttering and poor quality graphics it is a three or four at best. Still think it will be great once it the performance issues etc. are addressed

I think codemasters must have thought that with ea they would have a big budget to spend on producing a rally sim only to be told by ea that you will be making a rally game for the masses i.e. a more arcade like game for gamers who mostly use a control pad as to have a sim rig with a decent wheel and load cell pedals you are talking well over a £1000 !! The game on launch i was very disappointed graphics car physics stuttering screen tearing all were way below par !! However since the 1.3 dlc patch things have improved drastically the graphics are now looking very good and with this game as any other rally game you have to spend time setting up the force feedback and also you must set the cars up for the different rallies and just remember in real life wrc cars have very light steering as the drivers have to make lightning fast reactions on the steering wheel you souldnt be having the wheel so heavy that its stiff to turn else you will loose so much time on the stages !! My SAT ( self aligning torque ) is only set at 40 % so its fairly light on gravel but when i go onto a tarmac stage the ingame setting will naturally make the wheel slightly heavier on tarmac which is how it should be ! i use a thrustmaster TGT wheel and load cell pedals obviously settings will vary from wheel to wheel ? but if you have force feedback settings up to high you will miss and not feel the detail in the force feedback . Most times in rally games you have to tinker around like for instance in the WRC Generations game which in my opinion is a great rally game people complained that the accelerator was not progressive it was either on or off but had you gone into the throttle sensitivity and set it to 4 you would have a progressive accelerator and it released more power so the cars were faster on stage !! im now begining to enjoy the new ea wrc game after the patch which fixed a lot of issues !! Just to put a cat amongst pigeons i think that wrc generations was a far better game than dirt rally 2.0 and im hoping eventually the ea wrc game will become better then wrc gen !!
i agree completely with everything you said, especially the ffb. far too many reviwers are using high ffb. which is nuts in a rally game. i disagree with you on wrc generations vs dirt rally 2.0 though. the latter is better in every single way other than tarmac physics. oh, and graphics, and stage length, variation, quantity etc. wrc generations beats dirt rally 2.0 there most of the time. although graphics are not quite as gritty and realistic as dirt rally 2.0 for stages like wales and scotland. those are beautiful.
I agree. I also think EA told them to make this an accessible arcade racer for the mainstream gamer. The physics model was clearly designed to help stay on track even when you make huge mistakes. Some of the things ive seen people doing in this game are an absolute impossibility in the real world. Watching the bad drivers shows up all these things. Drive the car at 100mph then pull the hand brake and the car slides sideways and almost stops dead instantly. Very odd. And there is clearly some sort of hidden traction control. Power sliding/drifting on gravel in the 4WD cars isn't possible in this game.
This is more of a sim than DR1 and 2. Physics and ffb are noticeable improved.
If you haven't already, watch any video of a real life 2023 WRC Finland stage, for example. The cars are FULLY 80 degree drifting around the corners even on 4 right corners, but in WRC 23 you basically just go straight with a slight drift and only really start to go to the 80 degree range on like 1 right corners. Also, not to mention, the tracks are MUCH more wider than the real life stages! Not only that, you can cut almost any corner in WRC 23, but in real life they usually can't ever go about a wheel or two off the edge otherwise you are gone.
Everything in this game is awesome, apart from the physics. Its pure arcade. Why is there so much grip? In Finland its like driving on tarmac. And why cant you power slide/drift the 4WD rally cars on gravel? Its like there is some hidden traction control that stops you.
Real rally cars can actually power slide on gravel. This physics in this game were clearly designed to help you stay on track, even when you make a big mistake the game helps you out. Its just weird.
Change the setup then, you can absolutely power slide in dirt, gravel and even tarmac. You’re just shit

this game man its a gotta love it feel, its buggy and its not as good as it should be but I've uninstalled every other rally sim i have because none of them, top this one.
i can forgive the performance issues at launch as its there first attempt on unreal engine as the updates will come and there next year offering will be better as they will learn from there launch here.
also i have the same wheel from FANATEC so i know what it feels like as this video shows.
buy this game an EA game done right for once, well done EA/CODEMASTERS.

Think Jon would know the grip levels between real life and the game. He's helped Codemasters get details like that right. You are underestimating how much grip these beast machines produce even on gravel.

@@illuweThe problem is not how much grip the Rally 1 cars have. The problem is how much grip it feels every car class has, even the RWD historics.
Just loosen up the diff it genuinely makes a HUGE difference
@@JiveTurkey159Why would you do that? If I can corner with more grip I am faster. I don't have a problem driving with more grip, it's safer and faster. The point is that it doesn't feel right, and no I won't reduce my rear grip on purpose just for giggles.

what does that prove? nobody has an issue with the tarmac grip. in fact, they were driving slower in the video you linked than you drive in game. showing either the game is arcade allowing faster speeds, or it has more grip. but anyway. i agree, the tarmac grip is on point. its the gravel or wet surfaces that have way way too much grip. ok, that is an unpopular opinion. but most people agree it has a little too much grip. i differ by thinking it has way way too much grip.
@@socks2441 I respect all opinions and I'm probably wrong but I think that the majority of people who have opinions about the grip have never even seen a rally in person in their entire lives. The games have us badly accustomed to very low grip. I think the cornering is correct, but perhaps what people notice is that the rear of the car barely moves. That may be true but I think that cornering on asphalt is more similar to reality than in many other simulators.
I know people who have driven a real competition car and they always complain about poor grip.

yeah, the asphalt is pretty good. its the gravel i have issues with. and yes. most of us have never driven a wrc car. i would say that number would be about 99.99999999 etc percent of us. but we have watched plenty of footage of real life rally, and something is clearly off here. especially in combination with watching the players input on their gaming wheels etc.@@escorpio5911

If only they put some thought into FOV and tripple support considering Anyone using any kind of sim rig is going to need that.. put this on a sim rig and it looks like absolute trash. Its a couch and controller game all day.
