I'm very impressed with Iñaki. Not only has his Japanese improved to the point where he's getting "Nihongo Jouzu"-ed across the board, but he's keeping his composure while talking to a man with a fish for a head.
To be fair, "nihongo jouzu" is the standard greeting native speakers give to people learning Japanese. Iñaki was hit with the "hontou ni sugoi", which means Oda-sensei was really impressed. The kid's got serious dedication. I don't think he knew much Japanese when he was first hired for this role, and now he's speaking pretty much like a native speaker down to the pauses and mannerisms. I'm fairly sure he had a different teacher to help him study, but it's fun to think that Oda was also his sensei in another way.
Iñaki somehow gets even more loveable every time I see him, and he already started at like, 300% loveability the first time I saw him so I don't know how he does it 🤣
Some people here do not actually realize how exceptional it is to just hear oda's voice , you can count on your hands the number of times he did interviews like this . Love it , and Inaki is such a dedicated guy !

the fact that he learned japanese so he could properly communicate with the creator of one piece in his mother tongue. i'm so in awe of kiki ~ he is just something else. he warms my heart, he really is so special & is truly luffy IRL! and it's amazing seeing oda so involved in the live action. that's why it's so good!!!

I must say, for me the appeal of Luffy is his open-mindedness - he never judges someone by their looks, his unshakable ambition, how reliable he is - he always keeps his promises and most of all his sense of justice - how he never looks away when someone is mistreated. Funny how Garp always wanted him to join the Marine, yet Luffy goes to free kingdoms from villians that the Marine tolerated or just didn't care about as a pirate.

What a joy to hear the legend talking! I must say, for me the appeal of Luffy is his open-mindedness - he never judges someone by their looks, his unshakable ambition, how reliable he is - he always keeps his promises and most of all his sense of justice - how he never looks away when someone is mistreated.
Funny how Garp always wanted him to join the Marine, yet Luffy goes to free kingdoms from villians that the Marine tolerated or just didn't care about as a pirate.
This was amazing what a great interview, you could tell they both enjoyed it and Inaki has so much excitement and worked really hard just to make Oda comfortable and be able to talk to him directly

Actually pretty crazy having Oda in an interview, specially just for the live action series. Even tho they obviously had to change up the story for season 1, I had an absolute blast watching it. Hope it can continue. Only thing im sad about is that im looking forward to (hopefully) season 3 and Alabasta way more than season 2 😂
