He is doing fantastic, There's not many people that can sing his songs. The ones criticizing, may not be alive at 76 and he's on stage still rocking.. Way to go Sammy!!!!🙂👍👍👍
Sammy is 76 years old. Everybody criticizing his voice needs to relax. He's doing GREAT considering his age - and he originally recorded this nearly 40 years ago!
Who can sing like that at 76?? What a LEGEND!!!! and those songs are so demanding vocal-wise. plus he s doing it 100% live , no lipsync like others dudes at his age L E G E N D
Thank you Sammy for giving it your all! Personally the Van Hagar era was my favorite. Thank God Sammy still has it at 76 to give us! Michael Anthony complements Sammy as he always has. Thanks guys, this was GREAT!
To all the haters. Sammy has enough money for 10 retirements. He is doing this for FUN and to give audiences a fun time. Is it substitute for a time machine to go back to 1988 when Van Hagar was in its prime? No. But is it really fun, hellyes
I love the "God bless America!" at the end. Considered this was recorded during a very troubling time, we could all use some good ol' Pasadena partying Van Halen style, and a lot of love.
U gonna complain about Sammy’s voice?? R u kidding me?? 76 years old, & still killing it.Go search up DLR’s last tour with them. Sammy sounds 1000% better today, must be 7 years ago we all saw DLR just yell the lyrics. I was always a Van Halen>Van Hagar fan. Saw them Diver Down & 1984 tours & we were blown away.
For those talking about Sammy’s voice, he’s just getting warmed up. This is the first show. He’ll loosen up with time. It sounds like he’s holding back and getting a feel. You don’t want to push too hard and give everything you’ve got in the first few shows
Okay so Joe Satriani has already accomplished so much as an individual artist and has had the opportunity to fill in for Ritchie Blackmore and work with Mick Jagger both wanting him to be a permanent member and having the privilege of teaching some of the most greatest players in guitar who have all been successful in their own right and now filling in the shoes of EVH what else is next! Lol He said it years ago he just wants to continue to gain momentum like a snowball effect and keep gathering momentum of success and it hasn't let up! Godbless Satriani ❤❤❤
Yes his voice is still great, but we have to be honest about the fact that al lot of songs are sung in lower keys than the originals, and sometimes that sounds weird to people sensitive to that, like me and someone around here who mentioned that Jump sounded so strange…
The John Bonham bass drum covers speak volumes, Zeppelin was smart to "quit while you're ahead" RIP John, don't get me wrong Sammy & the gang sound great but VH will always be Dave, Sammy, Gary (deserves props for his efforts), Ed, Al & Mike
I think Joe is a great player, but for me I think there is a clear difference in the way of making each note meaningful. Joe is not quite on Eddie's level in that sense. That's where Eddie stands above his peers of the shred world, he's the complete package. Songwriting, rhythm playing, technical ability along with a strong sense of melody. But Joe is good at what he does, but I don't think it's as broad
When It’s Love has been difficult for him to sing since 1991. He ducks a lot of chorus notes on the RH:RN DVD. I don’t recall him hitting any high notes during the Balance tour.
U will get ur wish very soon. Just let the guys play and have this one tribute for Eddie since nobody else wanted to do it. U have to give Sammy and the guys credit for doing it for their brother Eddie.

Correct! Before his balls even dropped.

It's ok Mikey is there.
I think he still sounds great.
People who criticize have never amounted to anything in life and have failed at everything. It's done out of anger and regret
Who needs a voice when you have that band behind you ... we all know who we're seeing ...we grew up with this guy ...he never gave less than 100% ...
I can only hope to function like Sammy when I'm 76!!! Love to Sammy! 💪
Thank you Sammy for giving it your all! Personally the Van Hagar era was my favorite. Thank God Sammy still has it at 76 to give us! Michael Anthony complements Sammy as he always has. Thanks guys, this was GREAT!
His voice is fine, considering his age , it happens to all the greats
To all the haters. Sammy has enough money for 10 retirements. He is doing this for FUN and to give audiences a fun time. Is it substitute for a time machine to go back to 1988 when Van Hagar was in its prime? No. But is it really fun, hellyes
Exactly he is one of the last rockers left.
Thank You Sammy,76 years .. very good❤
Excellent show. Satch smoked, Bonham laid it down, Mike ...well, was Mike! Sammy spot on even at his age. Loved it!
Satriani can do it all....one of the best ever
Not as good as Eddie, but close.
I love the "God bless America!" at the end. Considered this was recorded during a very troubling time, we could all use some good ol' Pasadena partying Van Halen style, and a lot of love.
Wow Eddie is differently smiling from above what a pick of a guitar player to do Eddie wow simply wow

1988 Sammy
Sammy always was a class act
That guitarist is eerily similar to Eddie Van Halen. He did a SUPER JOB learning those chords of the original guitarist.
Joe Satriani. Damn good guitarist.
Could you imagine Roth trying to sing this
Yes please why not
love sach’s playing on the vh stuff
❤
1988

I ❤ Joe Satriani. There will never be anyone like Eddie though.
Sammys voice is still killer at 76, you guys need to calm the f**k down and see them in person
Yes his voice is still great, but we have to be honest about the fact that al lot of songs are sung in lower keys than the originals, and sometimes that sounds weird to people sensitive to that, like me and someone around here who mentioned that Jump sounded so strange…
They sound great and there’s enough of joes style in there that it’s not just an Eddie pastiche.
A whole step down . Sammy did OK. Music sounded great.

Did Sam say 1992?
Sammy needs to change this song up. He can’t sing it as he recorded it. He said years ago it’s a hard song to sing.
Does Hagar's voice sound hoarse? It's definitely off. Everybody else is spot on. Joe is always great.
When It’s Love has been difficult for him to sing since 1991. He ducks a lot of chorus notes on the RH:RN DVD. I don’t recall him hitting any high notes during the Balance tour.
Sammy not so good. Satch's tone is spot on though.
He's gotten rough over the years. Still carries a tune and doesn't make a fool of himself though unlike Vince Neil
He's 76, and not doing badly considering that
Bring Gary Cherone to do half the show or switch back and forth
Personally I think for Sammy being 76 he's doing fantastic!! Think about that for a minute!!! 👏👏👏
@@timtorkelson7201 Agreed. I'm 66, still have a good singing voice, but that's 10 more years.
Sad sammy, sad....
Time to retire Sammy.
Isn't that what this tour is all about? He's giving one last effort for the fans. Be kind. He's almost 80 years old.
U will get ur wish very soon. Just let the guys play and have this one tribute for Eddie since nobody else wanted to do it. U have to give Sammy and the guys credit for doing it for their brother Eddie.
