Even if you don't like interactive movies, it's hard to deny the appeal of this one based on the sheer quality of the animation - it looks amazing, especially for a 1994 console game. Of course, Junichi Hayama's influence and a kickass theme song don't hurt things at all. I hope you enjoy it and the translation!

Funny how Latin America, South Europe and even France already loved Anime style stuff. Also good old classic late 80 to early 90 anime stuff. All action with manly men :D hahaha
The music is grrrreat. I had never heard of this game before. God I love that NEC sound. This reminds me of that Yu Yu Hakusho game for the Super Famicom.

Funny thing about the PC-FX was the capacity to show JPG images at 30 frames per second. This made the console of its era with the BEST quality of video x) I think it´s totally neat that the video was just that, JPG images in movement x)
That's what a lot of 90s FMV compression was like after the MPEG standard was established. The PS1 had hardware-accelerated MPEG playback similar to the PC-FX.
I woulda loved to see this as a traditional FG. Especially cuz designs by Hokuto no Ken artists, be it Hara or Hayama, are ripe for it. I mean, Saturday Night Slam Masters 2 and Hana no Keiji are good examples without going to Kenshiro territory

It have an amazing opening song and a great presentation... but it's looks so boring and stall after a few minuts, Heck, I felt bored after SAW the second fight. I could imagine some folks in Japan back at mid 90's could felt ripp-off if they brought this game as an initial launch tittle and then, play some more FMV BS videogames. Amazing work buddy!

holy shit I didn't think that the animation was this phenomenal. this includes that theme sone as well. I am jaw-droppingly impressed by now.

I love that the PCFX still uses the HuC6280 for the PSG sounds and effects and music.

Not the author, but one of the directors of the second series, who also did a lot of other Hokuto no Ken related things.
The art style is actually Junichi Hayama's signature. He's the pupil of Masami Suda, who basically animated the Hokuto no Ken anime.

This game isn’t super-fantastic by any means but the animation especially the interesting characters and music is great.

What's pretty anti-climactic is that the final punch can be a light jab and next thing you see is the winner taunting and the loser out cold.

俺のPCFXは発売当初買ったものだが多分まだ動くよ、バトルヒートも持ってるよ、天外魔境のほうは手に入らなかった、結局プレイステーション１も購入してしまったけど、バトルヒートのオープニングを越えるアニメはなかなかないだろう。確かキャラクターデザインは聖闘士星矢と同じ人だった気がする、曲は小室哲哉だった気がする。
