Holy Hoonicorn handbrake, Roncar! This piece of Gymkhana history is getting installed in the Evo IX’s new inline brake system as a tribute to the Head Hoonigan in Charge, Mr. @KenBlockHHIC . We also need to size down the booster, rearrange some piping for a double-barrel wastegate, detail and reinstall the painted valve cover… it’s like project cars are a lotta work or something.

Easily the nicest car of the group. If the transmission shows up then it’s an easy W. That handbrake hits you in the feels.

In case you didn't, make sure you added a rubber grommet where the new brake lines come into the car so they dont rub on the chassis and eventually cut the new lines.
Glad this got called out, basically a single circuit brake system now - one leak == no brakes at all..

22:02 Please put a grommet on the flex lines if you haven't already, so it is held in place where it goes through the frame.
That lines are going to be rattling around with the forces it'll be under doing Gymkhana, and can get damaged by the holes they pass through, with no easy way to inspect them. It would thoroughly suck if you suddenly find yourself without brakes, heading for a hairpin with K-rail barriers. Or a cliff.
I love that almost everyone has builds going right now. We get new Hoonigan videos almost everyday! Very happy to see Kens' old parts finding new homes.

This one is the best looking build so far. Bolt on boys represent! Also the gold foil heat tape gives a real classy aura to the exhaust / dump tube area.
Ron you should get that torch guy to torch your double hood exit. Because that was an incredible transformation watching that turn blue and other colors. Think it would really really pop on your ride.

You don't know how much this build speaks to my heart lol. I'm essentially planning on doing all the same stuff. However being modular to a RWD configuration. The clincher..... I'm planning on making it all work in a Starion. Even if I don't finish. I'm at least putting time into it now.
The world needs more Starion/Conquest builds!

I used to think it was normal to spend 90% of your working time looking for tools, thanks to my dad's excellent ability to misplace things. (how do you lose (not stolen) 2 impacts, a table saw, and a belt sander??) Organization makes working so much less painful!

I dig the double barrel shotgun look of the wastegate pipes, but I think I would cut them off a little bit closer to the hood and maybe add something subtle like an "aiming point" in the center to make it look even more like a sawed off double barrel shotgun.
Dude thanks! I've been trying to figure out a breaking system for my truck. I'm transitioning into a wheelchair. So I am needing to add a hand brake with a throttle lever. This is the key 🤘🏼👌🏽🔥🔥

I had a 95 DSM, my favorite thing to do after painting the valve covers is to hit the raised letters with a sanding block. Step up the grit to a high polish and make those letters pop!

should plasma cut a little Hoonigan logo and use it to hold the double barrels together as a brace, maybe a wee bit of an angled cut too

You can get a rear caliper that has 4 pistons 2 for rear breakes and 2 for the handbrake 👌🤙💯
