I never heard of this challenge but loved your explanation and why you did a modified version You are completely right in saying it's more a mental challenge than anything else. Completing the 75 days is amazing, fair play to you ❤
I'm on day 8 at the moment and I've also decided to mostly do yoga and walking as my workouts. I absolutely hate going to the gym and I've been trying for a long time to find a physical activity that I would personally enjoy. I've tried yoga before, but it never stuck with me, cause I'm just super stiff in general. So I decided that this challenge would be a good opportunity for me to have some consistency with my yoga practice and see if I actually like it in a long term or not. Walking is also something that I've been trying to do more before, cause I have a crazy reactive dog and I couldn't walk with her for more than 15 minutes without losing my mind. Now I take her for those 45 - 60 minute walks once or twice a day and I already feel like I started enjoying it more, and I see it as a chance to bond with my dog, too :) Sometimes I do feel like I'm cheating and not really doing this challenge properly, especially when I see all those videos with people hitting the gym every day and running in the rain for 75 days. But I guess this challenge is not only about blindly following the rules, but also thinking what's important for you personally and promising yourself to do those things no matter what. Thank you for this video! It gave me some comfort, as I realised I'm not the only one doing those seemingly easy activities (though I would argue yoga is quite hard, if you are stiff as a board, like me) and still considering it a challenge ❤
Honestly what I learned is that no matter what kind of exercise you choose to do for 75 Hard, the real challenge is not about how difficult the workouts are, it's about whether you can show up for yourself on a day to day basis. Although I also totally agree- I found yoga difficult!
75 Hard as written by the creator, might have been appropriate for him in his body, at his stage of life/fitness/mental state but it should not be adopted verbatim by everyone. What's "hard" for him, might be impossible or even dangerous for others and even setting people up for failure. Anyone wanting to do a "75hard" for themselves should be able to choose their level of hard. For some it may be making it as far as their letterbox, or making some social contact each day. And the water rule? Ridiculous!
