- Testing out the EX mode that increases the enemy ships capabilities of being complete buttheads. The Negev was especially annoying to take out considering how much more beefy it is.

Is it just me or did the Palash do surprisingly well against the small scale airstrikes.
They definitely do! Their purpose serves well.

With this game I learned to stop worrying and just love the bomb
honestly airstrikes are BY FAR the best thing to use against almost ALL enemy groups. Hell, even in end game, if you have amassed a "carrier" fleet full of aircraft, you can bomb the missile carriers out of their miserable existence.
Stylistically this game is just awesome

Regarding the loot at the end there, do you know whether all of the SG's ships are accounted for, or just the last one destroyed?
Seeing how-at least to my knowledge-the game doesn't create a "scavenging-node" for you to loot from if a distant enemy is destroyed solely by missiles or aircraft.
It's all the ships you've fought and won against but keep in mind, the only salvageable parts are the ones you didn't destroy in combat.

and you do get scavenging noes loots and missiles and planes just the time starts are soon as combat finish so you need to time it really well.
I feel like if you sent them all in one group instead of separate attack waves of 3 you might've been able to go through the palashes. The T-7s in particular have one wave stick around to unload the rest of their payload while the next one comes in which could confuse the enemy point defense.
It's two different strategies. If you send them in waves of one squad each, they all get a small period of time where the enemy cannot fire their guns, if you send them all at once only the first squad gets that.
I only use 250kg bombs. Strike group ships are not agile enough to dodge them.
In vanilla I'm often stuck with the cheaper planes which are a little more attritable. With those, I've had great luck using the 100kg bombs.

Why T-7>La-29
I mean just looking at them jink and dodge is so satisfying
T7s are faster and carry a bigger payload
@@ThyBackUp yeah that too, they're also tougher and can shrug off a short 37mm burst, a R-9 SPRINT, or a 57mm hit.
They are twice the price but the investment worth it in the long run as you won't lose them as often. And they can carry AAM which are crucial to missiles interception. Still, the La 29 have their place too, they have longer loitering time making them more suitable for scouting. Besides, once you have crippled their air defense with your pricey T7s, sending a swarm of La-29s is a good way to mop up what is left.
not gonna lie it would be utterly rad if in a Highfleet sequel you get to pilot a T-7 to search and destroy these strike groups but in 3rd person or 1st person like ace combat. or maybe keep it in Highfleet style but you get to control this little plane and attack big stuff like in Luftrausers.
Unfortunately the negev is almost impossible to kill with an air strike due to the bridge being buried deep (bottom left). The gryphon and borat on the other hand have very superficial bridges behind a layer of armor + 1 hull max, making them easy targets once the negev was considered smaller than the others and thus no longer the priority target for the plane AI
The bombs look like they are SO much more potent than the rockets... what's the cost? More expensive? Less reliable?
When they land, for sure more lethal. Sometimes Rockets can overshoot and get an unlucky ship
How do you have your fighters together? Everytime I send mine out they're 1 by 1
Once you open the tab to send fighters out, you can click multiple times to send as many planes as you want. The planes come in waves of three, so if you send 9 fighters, they'll be 3 waves of 3.

What do you do if a strike group has more than 0 AA capabilities?
Send missiles first to bait out their AA missiles before sending in your planes
