Warehouse Design AutoCAD (Pt. 2) - Dock Doors & Levelers

Welcome to part 2 of the Warehouse Design series. In this episode we will be going over dock doors and levelers for tractor trailers. We will look at how to insert the doors into the wall and discuss the importance and main function of the dock doors and levelers. We will also review functions in AutoCAD such as: copying shapes, creating layers, and rotating objects.
In the Warehouse Design series we will go over what it takes to design and make a warehouse effective and efficient.
The information in this video is not an accurate depiction of actual construction of a warehouse/building. The structural components of a warehouse are designed by a professional builder.

Can you show us how to design dock doors and levelers, please?

Personally, I just use a block that I have saved. Since most dock levelers and doors are similar in spec a pre-drawn block is what is most commonly used. I am working on creating a space where I can place this file for anyone to be able to access when I finish the series. If you are still interested I can make a video that shows how I would draw one!

Check out the link below! They have some good and useful blocks. I created the dock levelers myself based on current dimensions.
