Another great tutorial.. been following these tutorials a while now and im starting to get pretty good and fast in it.. all thanks to your tutorials..! great job you doing!
Thank you. I learned a few new commands following along. Also, please explain how you came up with the reference dimensions in the future. We would like to replicate this method with other gears of different dimensions...
Can you please explain how to disable the associative feature in AutoCAD 12? It is impossible to insert the fillets on the sprockets with this feature which is the default and I do not know how to disable it. Thanks
I still can't understand this. I'm using a 2020 cad . I've done the same way you did still I couldn't get the one in the video . How come I can't even copy a thing
where can I find a data sheet for the circles and offsets numbers for different gears like the 8 tooth gear !!!? please help me .. I have a homework on this !
Hi. Thanks for this nice tutorial. How can I turn a spline into a polyline on autocad 2008? And what happens if I don't convert it? What's the purpose of you doing it here?
To be honest, not enough explanation. "Click this, chick that, chick this" is not a good tutorial. We don’t know what these things are, you need to explain at each step.
I understand that as a beginner you need to know a lot about different tools and commands but explaining them in a practice video like this one will make it of more than one hour and that is not always good for all type of users who are already aware of those basic tools. Still here is a free set of AutoCAD basic videos that you can follow to learn all about the basic tools and commands. www.thesourcecad.com/autocad-tutorials/
@@sourcecad problem isnt about commands and basic tools .we beginners dont understand drawing..you should explain how do you get this number what are you drawing. best regards

Hi! I am a beginner and I already have problems in how to make this sprocket. Could you show me how to do it, on a video? I really will appreciate your help. Begin by drawing the 12.25- and 11.25-diameter circles centered on the same point near the middle of your display. To construct the sprocket teeth, draw a line using the Quadrant object snap to locate the point at the top of the 12.25-diameter circle. The second point can be straight down so that the line crosses the 11.25-diameter circle. The exact length is insignificant because you will trim the line back to the inner circle. Offset this line .1875 on both sides. Trim the first line, and trim and extend the other two lines to the inner and outer circles. Create a polar array of these lines and trim them to create the teeth. Draw the 10.25 B.C. on the Centerline layer. Draw a line from the center to the quadrant. Use grips to rotate and copy the line to 30° and 60° for the 0.75-diameter circles, and 20° and 70° for the inside cutout. Draw two circles where the centerline intersects with the bolt circle. Construct a polar array to get the proper hole pattern. Draw the 7.44-diameter circle and the 3.25-diameter circle. Trim to construct the cutout geometry.
great videos thanks a lot.i wuuld like to make a question. you choosed the distances between the constructions line by your self?or you calculate them somehow, because there are 18 teeth in the sketch. in your site it doesnt define the distances
Hi, I think I can answer your question. A gear of 18 teeth at 3.333" outside diameter would be a 6DP gear. An 18 tooth 6 DP gear has a pitch diameter of 3.000" .Which is the figure used. He has set the chordal thickness at 0.260". This equates to a pressure angle of 14.5 degrees. All this info can be found in the Machinery's Handbook. I must be missing something though as I make the root diameter to be 2.614" not 2.571".
What a long winded way to create a spur gear, For Mechanical design it really needs to be a Parametric Mcad software such as Siemens Nx or many others. 2d is a pain in the arse.

which unit did u use for this drawing ?
Sir I want practice for bus interior and exterior layout design
I just want to say , you are the best at explaining AutoCAD it has been so hard for me to learn but after you taught me
It’s so much easier
Thank you so much for all your exercises you're doing for us ,when I'm free I'm doing some of your exercises and it has helped me a lot in my studies
Thanks!
Great video!!! As we would say in high school "the dreaded gear lesson"
I'm truthfully surprised it's even that involved and not just a matter of selecting a gear tool and entering in the measurements you need
FANTASTIC STEP BY STEP IT ALL ADDS UP . Thank you
Thanks Mr.
Excellent work done.
I hope next time, to explain how u select radius size

You should explain why it has that dimensions. It makes the viewers confused.
The values doesnt matter , you can use arbitrary values.
Thank you dor this wonderful explanation sir. Can i know why should we use a polyline instead of a line in that place?
I can't seem to figure out how you got 0.062 as the fillet. From the dimensions
Im having an autocad hiring job test in a couple of days. Which drawings u think i should practice?
Really very helpful 👏

Sir how can u decide dimensions of all.. plz sir give me idea about that plz 🙏
You can read it in Mechanical Engineering Books for Theory of Machines
In what units is this drawings?
Thanks
in minute 5:18
I don't know why did you convert spline line to polyline
you can make Arry on it without converting.
thanks
Do you know why we do the polyline?
You should explain the explode button while making fillet
Simply great..👍
Thanks for the great video.
Where did you get the original unit sizes from ?
Great Video !!
Dimensions i.e : offsets and others not properly mentioned....
Go on the link in the description it has them
Astonishing
Nice presentation
Hi I am working in an Automatic Doors company in GULF county I want to know how to draw isometric view of roll-up doors with it's profile
you're a god. Thank you.
Why did u change the spline to polyline? And can we not use offset commands instead of construction lines
Do you know why we do the polyline?
awesome video my dear brother
Good Job
pls tell why the offsets are different and why three circles what are these circles called
How to use short cuts.and explain detailed ,i can't understand.
I bought your course on Udemy! Thank you!
Why is that associative needs to be turned off when doing polar array?? What is its function?
What if I want to rotate this gear
What is the unit you used in this drawings
While using array how can we justify the distance between 2 circles?
U didn't tell how to calculate those offset values based on given gear profile values...

sir could u plzz upload video on how to draw dome structutre in detail
it just looks like a gear.
please specify units in the diagram like in old examples
For this example, it doesn't really matter what the units are, as long as you are consistent. you can use mm, inch, meter, etc.
can you tell me how to take the units for the tooth
write unite in the beginning then chose unites you need it
Bravo 👍
Awesome
dimensions are different because mine was a bit smaller. I referring to the circles they have more space than yours.
