Another great video. I am looking forward to the 12/29 customer appreciation range day! I took Baseline Carbine a year ago and planning my budget to take Performance Baseline Carbine next year.
Man I like this. I started doing this during range trips so I could increase my speed. I'm not competing, so I know I need to place rounds as fast as possible and maintain a pie plate at 7 yards. It doesn't look great to people watching, but then when I make a fist sized hole when slowing down, they don't talk as much lol. I'm working on bringing in that group tighter. I know it's grip and recoil control, but I'm at the point of taking actual classes. Thanks for this video. It definitely affirms my thought process.
I think it’s very important to use par times or split times for confirmation levels. It keeps you accountable and helps make sure you’re not over confirming or under confirming. The issues you discussed about “bad grip” or “bad draw” are not confirmation issues. That’s a separate skill. I think teaching confirmation levels with the instruction of “disregard first shot or draw time and just get the gun out, make sure your grip is perfect, then apply the confirmation level” or something similar would be more beneficial. Applying confirmation levels to the 1st shot is probably not the best or easiest way for someone who’s brand new to them to understand. Overall good video though and good explanations.
Do you think its necessary for one to train well with irons before training with red dots or starting out with red dots is a good idea (in both cases with a rifle and a pistol).... Great video though appreciate the long format videos
Another good video. Just watch that DV shooing video. Just saw a few clips from their body cam and it wasn't enough to give my LEO option on but the outcome is very sad. Thanks for sharing.
Confirmation 3 is NOT after the dot stops and becomes a circle, then shoot. Confirmation 3 is corrective shooting where you fire the shot after making corrections. The proper procedure is; once the dot becomes a circle after draw, recoil cycling, or transitions whatever, correct the red dot positions to the exact spot you want to shoot, THEN break the shot. If the red dot perfectly returns, no correction is needed, then pull the trigger without correction. Also, assigning time goals is very important to make sure the shooter is not over/under confirming. I made these concepts and different types of confirmation drills with time goals. When someone doesn't care about the times of each confirmation, people bring up all sorts of issues and do not truly understand each confirmation levels. Not having a time limit simply gives people the delusion that they are doing it correctly.
@@hwansikcjswo Mr. Kim, I am aware that Iam not teaching confirmation levels as you intended or created. It has been from my training and experience when transferring this type of knowledge to defensive minded, Mil, and LE side the concepts needed to be streamlines as to insure there understanding into shooting schemes and the value. Yes, my version of confirmation is not verbatim the same as what you created, but that also doesn’t mean it not as effective and impactful. I disregard the times because there are to many variables that can screw the outcome and it detracts from the visual cues which is the main focus. Keep in mind the overwhelming majority of my student base are not competition shooters and have no interest in being competitors. I believe this version accomplishes the goal of getting cops to understand and be interested in shooting schemes / confirmation levels without becoming counter productive. I would love to have a conversation with you about it. I think this would make a great discussion. Maybe we can grab Ben and Nick and make it a live.
Mr. Kim to expand on this. I have trained LE for over 15 years, thousands of officers. I have a very good grasp on how to layer information that is palatable, relevant, and easy to conceptualized from there lenses and level of shooting. I don’t change stuff to just change stuff. My goal is to round corners for people. It would be the same if I was training an individual that wanted to do 100 push ups but could not do 1 to start. You put them on their knee’s and have them do push up’s from there. Is this a full push up ? no obviously not. Is it counter productive to there progression? no it is not. Will it assist them in getting to accomplishing the goal over time ? Yes it will, and will also not hinder them later on
@@Broken_Arrow_Defense_Group_LLC It's just obvious to me that you are teaching it wrong. You should at least teach confirmation 3 is corrective shooting. This will help your students and your own shooting too. The biggest difference in confirmation 2 and 3 is being corrective or not other than seeing streak and circle dot.
Is it wrong ? Or is it just different than you ?Corrective would imply that the gun didn’t land where you wanted it. I would equate that to visual connection, physical input, or index problem. Not a confirmation assessment or visual cues. If you have time please let me know how your version allows students to understand and conceptualized the intended concepts better. Is it possible that you have over complicated these concepts and although valid it’s unnecessary and can be streamlined? If you’re open I would love to have a conversation. Let me know. Thanks, Paul

@@achillesheeltactical Where did you learn confirmation levels from?
What size safariland 771 pouch are you using for your Walther mags? I think safariland sent me the wrong ones.
These were for a Glock. But they seem to work with everything. I just had to adjust the tension on them.
@ interesting , they sent me pouches for a Glock magazine chambered in 45cal , safe to say it was a tad bit too large. I appreciate the info!
Nothing wrong with misses in training. Then train to where the times in which those misses happen become hits.
