I just got the idea while looking at the video: would you consider, if at all applicable to you, a video where you talk about how you "change" the use of items that no longer work for you in their first intended purpose?
Like, for example, I have an old coin purse that was abandoned because I stopped using cash altogether (or very nearly) and I started using it to keep my cords and cables instead of having them tangled in my bag - I think it would be great to have your input on how to "repurpose" items in a way that works for you

i think my goal right now in my zero waste bag is to make it lighter. for years, i'd take everything i could possibly need just in case. all it did was go unused and make my shoulders hurt. now i'm happy with just a tiny water bottle, a straw, a fork, keys, & my phone! and if i'm just going to grocery store, or to a friend's home, i'm good with even less!

Take the bag to a shoe repair place. They will also repair those straps on the bag. They have the right stitching machine to get thru thick materials. My shoe repair place has a luggage repair service (zips/handles on suitcases etc) so they have industrial grade machines.

I usually buy a new calendar every year, but lately I’ve been thinking of just getting a refillable calendar or atleast a refillable notebook. That way I can customize it just the way I want it. I got a regular hardcover calendar this year that didn’t have dates, and I’m absolutely in love with it!
I tend to go back and forth using my phone calendar and a physical one, so I’d save alot of paper by getting a refillable one. Much like the one I have now, they also sell refill pages without printed dates (and regular ones with dates of course) so I can just start again on the next page without having to skip weeks or months ahead after a period of mainly using my phone calendar. And I’m very much a list person, so being able to add in list sheets wherever I’d like is very exciting lol

I have ADHD so I'm prone to forgetting things, so sometimes I'll buy duplicates of my zero waste swaps. I have two different bags I use (one is a diaper bag and one is a small one, just for me). I Swapping them back and forth has resulted in me simply forgetting certain important things, and I'd much rather have the swap available and have two than not have it at all! 😅

It is up to each individual vegan how they feel about second hand/vintage non-vegan materials. I wouldn't buy new silk, wool or leather, but I do buy them second hand, because they are durable and practical, and already in circulation - I wrote a post about it, you can read more here: www.gittemary.com/2020/11/wearing-leather-as-a-vegan-my-thoughts-and-reflections.html 😊
