For real. I thought oh no! an open tuning. A slide lesson! . I’m going out to buy a slide That sounds so good. I don’t know about dark. But that sounds so good. I want to do it. Cheers x
Subscribed! This is what i needed, I'm just diving in the finger/slide world, for me, this lesson opens up the basic mechanics to construct my own phrases, keep doing this please! Best vibes from México! 🙏🏻✨
Wish I could play fingerstyle well enough to learn this. Any tips on improving speed for fingerstyle ? Obviously practice but any specific exercises or songs maybe ?
Very nice lesson John! Much appreciated. I have a 1932 resonator guitar in darn near mint condition and I've long felt a little guilty of not learning slide on it. I fingerpick Delta style and I know I can get it down, I simply need to do it. Question. Does that "dome top slide" you're playing have advantages over a standard one? Also, where can they be purchased. Please, no hurry! Thanks John.
ooooh, Steve 1932? That's fantastic. I've been drooling over 1930's models on Reverb lately. I really want an all metal bodied one. I love this ball end slide. It's an Ariel Posen signature from Rock Slide and it really helps when I'm angling the slide in to target a single note especially when I want to play an open string "underneath" it. Hope that makes sense, but I love this one and my shorty Rocky Mountain slide.
@@BluesGuitarInstitute Excellent and yes, your explanation makes complete sense. I'm going to get one and at the very least I'm going to learn some basic slide. With the guitar I have it would almost be a shame not too. Good look in your quest of finding a metal body. Stay optimistic. It will happen. Thanks John!
@@BluesGuitarInstitute do you still recommend the Beard Deluxe? I’ve been thinking about getting one like yours ever since you started playing it, but I’ve never pulled the trigger. If you got an all metal one, would you keep this one too? Thanks.
@@CC-qb9sm that's a good question, I think I'd keep both this and a metal body and most likely keep this one in open g. It really feels better in open g than open d in my opinion.
You should have stuck to Metallica dude. That way I wouldn’t have to come on here and feel sick that I won’t ever sound 10000th as good as you when I practice your pieces!
Love this one John, keep them open G ones comin.
Tuesday is becoming my favorite day since subbing this channel
Awesome! Glad to hear that.
Love this one, John!!! Keep them open tuning tuning slide lessons rolling!
Thanks Lance, a new one dropped yesterday. Hope you check that one out too! Really appreciate it 👍
Great lesson John! Love this one! Absolutely love it!!!
I gotta learn this!!! Thank you!

I like this piece a lot. Again, I love it, that lately, you have been presenting a number of songs that fit so well for a resonator guitar
I've been reaching for it more and more 👍
Thank you
terimakasih abang, anda sudah mengajari saya tentang tutorial pukulan slide blues gitar🙏

Best blues teacher
Very nice, John. Thank you! I will be learning this one for sure 👍🎸
I’m trying to see if you have a pony tail or a hair cut😃
Thanks! Also....I may have a better shot in the latest video that will answer the haircut question 😂😂😂
Absolutely class. Again!
👍
Sounds great! Can’t wait to dive in
Hey Swami! Thanks for that and nice to see you here again 👍
Great lesson thanks
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for this special lesson...very original to me. I'm still late on that. Still exploring the pentatonic scales ...🎶🎶🎶
Thanks Nicole. Great that you're working away on the pentatonics. So important. keep going! 👍🙌🎸
So lovely. Masterful. Sir, what is that pinky slide you're using called? Can't find it anywhere on tinternet

What's the guitar brand you're playing? Nice work. Thank you.
It's a Gold Tone, the model is their Paul Beard Signature Deluxe...the roundneck version I think they have a squareneck one too.
Is this a square neck Paul Beard or a round neck guitar? Can't tell from the video. Thanks.
It's made by gold tone, Paul Beard Signature Deluxe. It's the roundneck one.
Need to explain more, what frets do I use
Sounds like John Fahey

@@BluesGuitarInstitute I pulled the trigger today on the Beard Deluxe, should have it in a couple days!
John what model of gold tone are you using ?
Hey, it's the Paul Beard Signature Deluxe model.
Makes a fingerpicking guitar lesson, without actually showing the fingerpicking pattern
Nice song. Did you get a haircut?
Hi Anne Marie! Yes, I did. I was wanting to for a long time but the pandemic made me put it off for a few months.
It looks good!

ha! thanks for that 👍
too bad your fingers are blocking the view. cannot keep up. I'm a noob. a better view of fretting would be cool
