Yeah both riffs are simple but completely different. Combined it's just beautiful. I usually play along with the track or Guitar pro so, I get my twin guitar riff ;P
I found Opeth in highschool, been listening to them religiously since... Amazing band! Truly the best! Every song brings you on a different ride and man is it a ride...
Opeth are awesome & even though they don't make this kind of music anymore, the prog rock stuff they do now is fantastic too. Definitely need to listen to Ghost Of Perdition Live at the Roadhouse by Opeth
I fucking hate that they don't make the kind of music they did on their first and second albums... I'm like truly upset about it. (Forever) like why not!?! They were masterful with the stuff they did on their 1-2, (and I'll extend an olive branch to 3,4, 5 and 6..) but after that it's like so far from their original sound.. I don't even like it! Like wtf Opeth!?
So, so glad someone has reacted to this! I've been a fan of Opeth for nearly 15 years now... but for some reason this is the album I've been going back to more then any, for the last 2 years... LOVE THIS SONG...FUCK YA!
still watching and listening! like you said the center part is so captivating! I don't understand why I have such an emotional attachement to this song... but... it has brung a tear to my eye before... I still love Opeth... but I just don't think they will have have this amount of passion in their songs again...
That bass is so funky. I LOVE Martin Lopez, definitely one of my favorite bassists, but there is something about the original bassist that made MR and Orchid so special. This one song alone has enough riffs and musical themes to fill a whole album, and their use of counterpoint was just perfect.
I remember the first time I heard this entire album, was almost never sure when the song changed haha, since they have sooo many transitions it kinda bled together. good shit 🤟🤟🎶🎵
I think you've cornered the Black Rose Immortal reaction market on youtube lol. Maybe react to Native Construct - Mute as well? if you like Opeth i think you'll enjoy these guys as well, they play Prog metal.
If You know what the song is about it's about a man who sells his own soul to the devil to see his lost loved one and the ending is him coming back to earth and realizing what he has done how he just sold his soul and once he dies he'll never be with his loved one again. Also to bid you farewell I believe is his death and him seeing that loved one one more time before he goes to hell "In my own ashes I am standing without a soul" is saying he's dead and the devil has his soul and he was speaking to his lost loved one and she replys back "I know" pretty deep shit
Opeth поступают с фанатами плохо, потому что это их лучшая песня, а они вместо нее и вообще вместо всего Morningrise (самого лучшего в дискографии альбома) играют на концертах что-то с Damnation или Heritage, которые ни о чем :(
React to Advent please!, from the same album. I think is the same as good as this song or better because it's shorter, and none the less it has all the elements that make Black Rosse Immortal so good. It has the riffs and the acustic parts so well arranged, and the melodic riffs are just insanely powerful and beautifull. Totally recommended, and only lasts 13 min or so. You could also watch the live version, tho there isn't a single video but there is a live version from the Royal Albert Hall here in RUclips that I like more than the studio version.
Beau - I challenge you to listen to Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness. I know you can't possibly react to it as it is a single 1-hour track, but it will be the an absolutely epic and emotional trip you'll never forget :D
Can’t really get on my mind why Opeth has dismiss this masterpiece song in all they’re concerts , until today no know if there’s any live record with good sound with this song performed live , can’t imagen how great could have been seeing play on reds rocks theater 🎭
@@timbatchelor1907 No I dont think so. I think the song is about a black rose which doesnt die and possesses the forest. The evening trees moan as if they knew what was there. Remember that line.
Opeth can do no wrong mate.~ But unfortunately this sounds like when Mikael's growls got a bit...sloppy. I always prefer his more precise, clearly articulated growls.
Yeah. He is literally the only vocalist I've heard who can make me LIKE the death growl vocal style. I usually hate it because most make it sound like garbage and can't articulate.
Pierce Nine I agree too! And I think the reasoning lies in the song arrangement. He knows what techniques to call upon to serve a song. It always fits.
How the fk can you say you love Opeth and say you don't know Black Rose Immortal, or never heard of it ?? o.O !!! That's simply alien to all Opeth fans, or people who states that they love Opeth... unless you told that as a lie for the sake of "genuine reaction"... There are people who love only progressive part of Opeth, but even they know of Black Rose Immortal , or their death metal orientated work...
Lol, I've been listening to Opeth for years, but only knew about Black Rose Immortal after a few years of already being a fan. It's pretty easy to miss out these artists' gems unless you instantly obtain their whole discography (which can be pretty hard to do). That's a nice thing about Opeth, there's always something new to discover about them.
They are many like that. Most newer fans are more familiar with Blackwater park or Ghost reveries. Unfortunately many newer fans miss out on older Opeth. Also Opeth has hundreds of songs over 13 albums.
Your the only person on RUclips that has Reacted to this Masterpiece.. Thanks for that! Definantly check out-In Mist She Was Standing-Opeth.
How about.. Checkout their entire first album!!!******* Orchid is a fucking Masterpiece.
This song made me cry sometimes...The melodies are simply amazing
lots of music makes me cry. Lol
no regrets
Every ten seconds: "Oh, here comes the goood part!"
One of the most brilliant songs I have ever heard. Really aprecciate u decided to make this video. Keep it up! Greetings from Chile.
+Carlos Millar Carlos! Thank you so much! It is a mind blowing arrangement. It can't be listened to just once! Truly eerie and beautiful:)
This song has one of my favorite all time riffs @ 14:20 and build up to that riff from 12:35, and one of the reasons I started learning guitar!
Sadly, it sounds perfect because of the harmony but with a single guitar it doesn't sound as epic. About the 14:20 riff
Yeah both riffs are simple but completely different. Combined it's just beautiful. I usually play along with the track or Guitar pro so, I get my twin guitar riff ;P
My favorite band. Do Opeth In the Mist She was Standing, To bid you Farewell, or The Night and Silent Water. Amazing songs.
Probably my favorite Opeth album.
Yup Morningrise was amazing .
The Night and the Silent Water.
To Bid You Farewell
Nectar.
Imma listen to them right now.
Mine too....
I found Opeth in highschool, been listening to them religiously since... Amazing band! Truly the best! Every song brings you on a different ride and man is it a ride...

the first ever song that got me hook to Opeth ever and to this day
You have the balls that no one has the balls to do this! Respect! Brother!
6:46 when you start feeling the pure genius of Opeth. One of the most beautiful riffs in Metal.
Totally agree
Fucking agree
Yeah man, thanks for reacting to this long beauty of a song!
Those growls in the end is still the most longest and most phenomenal growls.
I totally agree with bands doing long songs for the sake of it. Opeth manages to pull them off pretty well, one of my favorite bands.
Way to give respect to this masterpiece that deserves to be heard by any fan of music. Opeth is easily one of the best bands of all time
So, so glad someone has reacted to this! I've been a fan of Opeth for nearly 15 years now... but for some reason this is the album I've been going back to more then any, for the last 2 years... LOVE THIS SONG...FUCK YA!
mitchell desroches Dude thanks for taking the time to comment and watch/listen! Thoroughly enjoyed this tune!!!
still watching and listening! like you said the center part is so captivating! The last riff sounds like someone being dragged through the earth down to hell.
Love this song so hypnotic
That bass is so funky. I LOVE Martin Lopez, definitely one of my favorite bassists, but there is something about the original bassist that made MR and Orchid so special. This one song alone has enough riffs and musical themes to fill a whole album, and their use of counterpoint was just perfect.
Martin Mendez* Lopez Is the drummer
I remember the first time I heard this entire album, was almost never sure when the song changed haha, since they have sooo many transitions it kinda bled together.

SDMF20 haha it would seem so! Thank you so much for tuning in. I've had a Mute request in the past! Need to check it out
simply a masterpiece
I love this song sooo much..... but I must say the really does it for me is that ending with that creepy riff at the end.... like DAMN
Roberto Warren These dudes know how to build atmosphere!
yeah... that gets me every time i listen to this.... but i must say that like still life or blackwater park are better
albums..

Hell yeah, thanks for your time it's a long song.
All time favourite.. Ethereal experience
Когда я первый раз услышал эту вещь, то как говорят, I'm fucking hi. Супер, слушаю с удовольствием и сейчас. Great thing really.
Opeth поступают с фанатами плохо, потому что это их лучшая песня, а они вместо нее и вообще вместо всего Morningrise (самого лучшего в дискографии альбома) играют на концертах что-то с Damnation или Heritage, которые ни о чем :(
I am so with you when it comes to the bass guitar. Usually underrated and played wrong but not by Opeth.
In The Niiiiiiiiight!
Now that's a funny thumbnail 😂 crapppp
You should check out "In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion" by Agalloch!

More OPETH please. My request would be The Funeral Portrait.
The lepper affinity shepherd's bush

Anyone has an idea how is the sound of a voice vast and achromatic? :)
Please please plese react to Opeth - Deliverance live at Shepherd's Bush Empire
This song is about a guy waiting to die to be with his girl
Goin ham no it's about him selling his soul to the devil to see his lost loved one. Read to bid you farewell is the follow up to that.
@@timbatchelor1907 No I dont think so. I think the song is about a black rose which doesnt die and possesses the forest. The evening trees moan as if they knew what was there. Remember that line.

Opeth can do no wrong mate.~
But unfortunately this sounds like when Mikael's growls got a bit...sloppy. I always prefer his more precise, clearly articulated growls.
Pierce Nine I agree! Such a versatile man. I love the growth we can clearly hear with his technique.
Yup. Part of being a masterful composer as well as a performer.
I actually think his growls are pretty good here, it's the clean vocals that are somewhat off- key and flat. I still really like this song though.
tja
their first 3 albums are pure gold... everything after pure turd...
How the fk can you say you love Opeth and say you don't know Black Rose Immortal, or never heard of it ?? o.O !!! I appreciate the sincerity... Make sure to be that sincere in your next reviews ;).

lol wtf is this "reacting to songs" thing
