      +Carlos Millar Carlos! Thank you so much! It is a mind blowing arrangement. It can't be listened to just once! Truly eerie and beautiful:)

    This song has one of my favorite all time riffs @ 14:20 and build up to that riff from 12:35, and one of the reasons I started learning guitar!

    • @TheAskald
      @TheAskald 7 лет назад +2

      Sadly, it sounds perfect because of the harmony but with a single guitar it doesn't sound as epic. About the 14:20 riff

    • @jcrosato
      @jcrosato 7 лет назад +2

      Yeah both riffs are simple but completely different. Combined it's just beautiful. I usually play along with the track or Guitar pro so, I get my twin guitar riff ;P

    Opeth are awesome & even though they don't make this kind of music anymore, the prog rock stuff they do now is fantastic too.
    Definitely need to listen to Ghost Of Perdition Live at the Roadhouse by Opeth

    • @cyrusvanbeethoven4626
      @cyrusvanbeethoven4626 4 года назад +1

      I fucking hate that they don't make the kind of music they did on their first and second albums... I'm like truly upset about it. (Forever) like why not!?! They were masterful with the stuff they did on their 1-2, (and I'll extend an olive branch to 3,4, 5 and 6..) but after that it's like so far from their original sound.. I don't even like it! Like wtf Opeth!?

      still watching and listening! like you said the center part is so captivating! I don't understand why I have such an emotional attachement to this song... but... it has brung a tear to my eye before... I still love Opeth... but I just don't think they will have have this amount of passion in their songs again...

    That bass is so funky. I LOVE Martin Lopez, definitely one of my favorite bassists, but there is something about the original bassist that made MR and Orchid so special. This one song alone has enough riffs and musical themes to fill a whole album, and their use of counterpoint was just perfect.

      If You know what the song is about it's about a man who sells his own soul to the devil to see his lost loved one and the ending is him coming back to earth and realizing what he has done how he just sold his soul and once he dies he'll never be with his loved one again. Also to bid you farewell I believe is his death and him seeing that loved one one more time before he goes to hell "In my own ashes I am standing without a soul" is saying he's dead and the devil has his soul and he was speaking to his lost loved one and she replys back "I know" pretty deep shit

      Opeth поступают с фанатами плохо, потому что это их лучшая песня, а они вместо нее и вообще вместо всего Morningrise (самого лучшего в дискографии альбома) играют на концертах что-то с Damnation или Heritage, которые ни о чем :(

    React to Advent please!, from the same album. I think is the same as good as this song or better because it's shorter, and none the less it has all the elements that make Black Rosse Immortal so good. It has the riffs and the acustic parts so well arranged, and the melodic riffs are just insanely powerful and beautifull. Totally recommended, and only lasts 13 min or so. You could also watch the live version, tho there isn't a single video but there is a live version from the Royal Albert Hall here in RUclips that I like more than the studio version.

      @@timbatchelor1907 No I dont think so. I think the song is about a black rose which doesnt die and possesses the forest. The evening trees moan as if they knew what was there. Remember that line.

    Opeth can do no wrong mate.~
    But unfortunately this sounds like when Mikael's growls got a bit...sloppy. I always prefer his more precise, clearly articulated growls.

    • @BeauCardwellReacts
      @BeauCardwellReacts  7 лет назад +1

      Pierce Nine I agree! Such a versatile man. I love the growth we can clearly hear with his technique.

    • @hraefn1821
      @hraefn1821 7 лет назад

      Yeah. He is literally the only vocalist I've heard who can make me LIKE the death growl vocal style. I usually hate it because most make it sound like garbage and can't articulate.

    • @BeauCardwellReacts
      @BeauCardwellReacts  7 лет назад

      Pierce Nine I agree too! And I think the reasoning lies in the song arrangement. He knows what techniques to call upon to serve a song. It always fits.

    • @hraefn1821
      @hraefn1821 7 лет назад +1

      Yup. Part of being a masterful composer as well as a performer.

    • @SDMF20
      @SDMF20 7 лет назад +4

      I actually think his growls are pretty good here, it's the clean vocals that are somewhat off- key and flat. I still really like this song though.

    How the fk can you say you love Opeth and say you don't know Black Rose Immortal, or never heard of it ?? o.O !!! That's simply alien to all Opeth fans, or people who states that they love Opeth... unless you told that as a lie for the sake of "genuine reaction"... There are people who love only progressive part of Opeth, but even they know of Black Rose Immortal , or their death metal orientated work...

    • @bucketb0t

      Lol, I've been listening to Opeth for years, but only knew about Black Rose Immortal after a few years of already being a fan. It's pretty easy to miss out these artists' gems unless you instantly obtain their whole discography (which can be pretty hard to do). That's a nice thing about Opeth, there's always something new to discover about them.

    • @soakedbearrd
      @soakedbearrd 2 года назад

      They are many like that. Most newer fans are more familiar with Blackwater park or Ghost reveries. Unfortunately many newer fans miss out on older Opeth. Also Opeth has hundreds of songs over 13 albums.
