this is amazing, i have been using cinema 4d for the last 6 years and blender has always been on the cards to learn and i am finally getting around to learning it and i am loving it, the evee renderer is next level stuff its so nice to work in real time
Thanks for the great tutorial, just started Blender and didn't know that Eevee can be so realistic. Now I don't need to wait for hours to render with cycles on my potato CPU since my laptop GPU wasn't capable for rendering in cycles.

Sometimes I feel megascans, is kind of cheating, of course I know in production is really useful, but I don't know, sometimes I see in artstation people uploading incredible scenes but they only use megascans assets and textures, can those be defined as portfolio pieces? Maybe my pride as an artists gets hit because of how easy it is now that anyone can do amazing stuff. Yeah ....
I think it depends on what they're trying to say they do with their portfolio. If they're saying they're modelers then yeah its cheating, but if it's about composition, lighting, etc. Then I think it's ok. If you were to go out and shoot this scene in the real world, you wouldn't be creating the rocks or anything from scratch. It'd be about what you can do with the tools provided to you. In a movie they'd also likely use scans as the quality is unmatched and are already made assets. I think as 3d artists there's too much call for us to do and make everything, and idk its curious when we're the only industry where that's true
i have a problem with hard black shadows on the rocks with eevee render after i exported them to blender, tried few setups but never got to something similar as you. any idea what i'm doing wrong? thanks in advance
Whenever i export an asset from bridge it shows exported successfully but the asset doesn't show up in blender. But when i go the shading tab in blender it's texture shows up in the materials. But still there is no 3d asset! For eg - if i export the wall you exported in this video, that wall wouldn't show up in my blender but the texture of the wall will, and then i can give its texture to any mesh. I'm using blender 2.9 and bridge 2020.3.3 pls help....i really don't know why this is happening :(
Hi Pranjal! Great tutorial with just the right amount of explanation in it! I too have the Physical Starlight addon and I need to ask a question: The addon creates a sun which the settings in the addon adhere to, but is it possible to create more than 1 sun to see which lighting scenario works best for the scene? So far I can create another sun but the addon doesn't accommodate it
@@jalpranjal Oh, what I mean by that is is there a way to create multiple suns using the addon and toggle them on/off instead of having to undo the changes you make to the current sun?

I am not a 100 percent sure but I guess there is a certain threshold of revenue you need to get before you have to get a proper license for the assets. The best place for you to get the right answer would be megascan forums.

Is Eevee's output results dependant on the graphics card(s) or processor? When I start Eevee, the lights and shadows are all flickery. In this video, that doesn't seem to be the case.
yaw these quixel guy they lied a vedeos they made wich they were talking about megansca will for free after that deal they mad with epic games company but they lied about it if i want to use meganscan i rather use it assets directly to unreal engine blender is for making from 0 not with those ready assets

For the alternative lighting 15:13-17:03 you could also add an irradiance volume to enhance the lighting around the scene

You can move the sun around and test out lighting conditions.Not too sure what you are asking about.

Do you reduce the polygon count of the 3d models? Or you just used the real poly count of the 3d models,?..

Its because your sample counts are low in the viewport, change it and play around with the lights and render settings
Ur Light flickers bcos u hv soft shadows enabled in the render settings.
can you tell me why are you using eeve? is the result the same between cycle and eve with mega scan asset?

The latest release of blender has a new sky model which kinda eliminates the requirement of the addon I used in the video.
