    The cool outdoor sci fi shot you showcased was actually a matte painting I believe.. as that was the scene I was most interested in using....

    Seeing snarky comments about UE on a Blender related video is annoying. There’s zero reason to compare them and how the hell can you take away what Blender devs and the community are doing. Just amazing all around.

      Definitely think they have their own slot. They are different tools that actually can be used together or apart. Either way both are beasts of software packages and I’d say people are dumb to criticize either, and dumb to not try both of them. They both have some sweet perks and some cons that the other fills in the gaps

    I think it's better to render the scene in different passes such that the project is more manageable to work with in less powerful computers.

    Was only the splash screen made in eevee or the whole animation?

      whole animation was made and rendered in eevee

    This animation scenes was produce on a higher rendering memory setting, so if you have 1G or 4G card . set it at 641render. look at your memory consumption upper render panel use that as refences setting.

    i tried the splash screen file, and i can not understand how it is possible to create this scene, its so slow and laggy. at least not any consume hardware can do it.
    anyways, i barely use eevee anymore, cycles is so fast now that i use that instead. i wish that blender gave us back the cycles starting resolution option back, its too low for the latest hardware.

      its pretty slow but I think this file is set at a pretty high resolution so maybe just try playing with the samples and resolution. normally I just keep mine at 64 and this one was much higher

    As impressive as this is, unreal engine 5 could easily render anything you saw in that video completely in real time.

      Indeed, EEVEE is 4 years old, so it's a baby compared to other renderers, yet it's not made to be used as a real time visualizer, but as a faster renderer. it has to be able to show mesh while they're edited, sculpted, animated (All of these can't be done in UE5) , while still having almost real time lights interaction (It's still very new in Unreal engine). Also there's only one or two developpers on EEVEE but there are 10+ developpers on UE5's viewport.
      At the end of the day, they're not made for the same purpose and are not at the same state of development.
      "Eevee NEXT" should fill a bit the gap, but it's still in dev rn.

      I render in Unreal, but I would love to be able to do it all in Blender. Not only is a it a pain to transfer everything to another software, but a lot of things can't be used outside of blender, like bendy bones and the animation effects you get when you have a lattice modifer on a mesh, like rotating cartoony eyes. Plus all the micro-adjustments which you could do up to last minute. I dunno, there's just something dreamy about being able to do it all in one package....but alas, I render in Unreal for now.

      Actually, Unreal still has to compile shaders.

      @@csmemarketing So does eevee. But Unreal 5.1 compiles on demand, meaning, only what is needing right now, which saves a TON of time.

      Can it render what Blender can render while also having the entire toolkit that Blender has? If so, it would make Blender fully obsolete. But odds are, this is not the case.
