      I think that he might have beaten Tyson if he had trained more diligently, and come in about 12-15 pounds lighter. That was his one weakness, not being able to consistently keep himself in shape.

    The 80s heavyweights were heavily flawed, but they didn't lack for raw talent. If you saw Greg Page, Tony Tubbs, Tim Witherspoon, Tony Tucker, and Carl Williams as young prospects, you would have thought that the 80s would be better than it ended up being.

    Greg Page at minimum, was every bit as fast and talented. He caught Greg on a wrong night. But Tony was a damn good fighter with great hand speed.

    • @Belburg
      @Belburg 8 лет назад +3

      By the end of 1985, Greg was shot. Buster was lucky he caught him around the time he was faded, as did many after. Buster wasn't all that, he had the perfect night against Tyson.

    • @Belburg
      @Belburg 8 лет назад +1

      Tubbs turned pro in 1980, Page in 1979. When they were in the amateurs, Page won 6 out of 7 against Tubbs. Greg's problems with Don King are well noted. By the time Tony fought Greg, Greg was not the same fighter as he was from 79-82. If that version fought Tony, there would be problems for Tony. Like a loss.
