- How to paint a Dot Mandala on a 6x6 Inch Canvas - Video 377 - Sue Sloan
This is step by step directions on how I created this mandala.
In each tutorial I hold up a number this number is the TOOL number. If you need the millimeter size for each tool you can find a chart on my website that lists them for you here: lovetocolor.com/pages/tools
I use DIY Mandala Dotting tools these are the numbers I'm holding up in the video along with the colors I'm using.
You can find a link below if you would like to purchase the tools.
If you like my work please like, comment and/ or subscribe. It’s nice to know others views on what I’m creating!

Rest well, Sue. Thank you for sharing your gift with everyone and inspiring people to take up new crafts!
I am so sorry to hear about She's passing. What a wonderful talented woman. And a very strong lady. I saw her painting her Mandalas a few yrs ago and I fell in love with them. She was the one who got me into it. Bless your heart Mike for keeping her channel going. Will be tuning in. My condolences to you and the family. May Sue rest easy now.
Such a beautiful and talented lady. Rest in peace.
This is my favorite piece. She was so talented.
Truly beautiful. I'm wasn't sure my hand is steady enough to do this, but you break down each color so I believe it would be okay. This gave me ideas for other color combinations.
This is absolutely beautiful!!! I am thinking about starting this and after watching 2 of your videos I am even more tempted to buy the supplies and jump right into it. They are so beautiful!!

You skipped some dot at minute 13.06
Still a really wonderful work and a gorgeous palette.
I never even noticed, nor did anyone else lol. Thanks
I saw it!!! But you can't even tell. Such beautiful work!
I saw it but wasn't going to say.
@@SueSloan I did, but didn't say anything. I have OCD, so it distracted me. But it's still so beautiful!
Nice mandala 😊
Thanks 😊
Miss you!
Hola, precioso, te has dejado una patita de estrella sin hacerles los 4puntos . 🙏😘🌹
❤❤❤❤
Hésitation work
My OCD really kicked in when you missed that row of dots and didn't fix it. I love your work, is beautiful. Please fix that row lol, you're killing me
I’ve heard this from many…so sorry! I did fix it, just didn’t notice until after recording.
I love rhe peaceful music. Is that what you listen to while you work? 🤔
I don’t usually have anything on as it’s my quiet time after listening to kids programs/songs all day lol
dibujas muy bien
gracias
This was lovely ❤❤❤ I did notice you missed the walking dot on one side of the green star, and was waiting for you to go back and fill it in. I’m not complaining, lol, because I usually forget some element while I’m doing these mandalas as well
I fixed it lol. You wouldn’t believe how many people have noticed lol
@@SueSloan … lol, that’s only because you’re teaching us how to do it in the first place. ❤️
♥
This is so inspiring Sue! Thank you so much for the tutorial as I am real newbie dot-aholic 🤪😄. Do you prefer the tapered dotting tools you used during this video over the rods? I looked at the ones you are using and they are expensive but if they give you more control, I will buy them! Absolutely beautiful piece! I loved it when it was just the star with the small dots around it 😃.
The dotting tools (rods) do give you more control for creating perfectly round dots and also come in way more sizes. The ball stylus tools are easier to use to create swoops quickly. You could use a rod to create the dot and drag them into a swoop with a smaller rod or even a tooth pick though. Here is the tools I use if interested. lovetocolor.com/pages/tools
Hi Sue, I would like to put it on a 12x12 canvas . Should I just extend the pattern, lol, without driving myself crazy! It’s so beautiful and I’m still new at it, thank you, love watching you videos…
I personally would do a square in tge center of this pattern then make a similar border around it. You could just make everything bigger but those swoops would have to be huge. I wouldn’t have a dotting tool big enough.
Super inspired by your work. I have started dot mandalas and loving the experience. Can u please help me by telling me how do u clean up pencil marks after finishing the dotting
I use a generals chalk pencil. After completely dry (24hrs) I use a wet qtip and go over them. If you didn’t press to hard when making the lines most will come off easily. If you pressed hard or in a area with no dots I’ll usually touch up and paint over them after using the qtip.
I would like to learn more. To do Mandela for myself
Vc e maravilhosa!!!!
Obrigada
ECUADOR 😍😍😍💖💖💖💖🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍
Have you ever tried one of those Fredrix round convexo canvases?, I have a feeling they would work really well for a mandala.
Nope will need to look into those
Que belleza, que colores. Con que haces los puntos? Creo que ese instrumento aca en Uruguay no existe. Yo hace tiempo pintaba mandalas pero no las hacia así. Estas son preciosas.Gracias, felicitaciones por tu arte

I love this design so much…it’s gorge. One thing…you missed one of the rows of minty coloured walking dots early on. Not a criticism….I just wanted to tell you all the way through lol.😀
