It says it has all knowledge and memories of all consumed things but if that's the case then just build precursor stuff and trash the current under teched beings that exist now. Also if the logic plague was so good the why didn't it just unleash it on everything on impact anywhere new. No defense against that.
its funny how i played 'all the units' mod on halo wars, during the mission 'the flood' i was on that mission for like 30-2hrs it was so long cus literally every single enemy type is on me, infected vehicles, combat, pure forms but everytime i take my time building up and econamy/army i get randomly harrassed by a tank, thresher and a juggernaut but this is no ordinary jug, the abomination does exist in that mission alone as a boss but this juggernaut that is kept harassing me and targeting my base, is the one that auto levels up every time it dies, i only got upto a 8* veterancy jug and yet its hard enough to take down, i had 2-3 vulture mk2 at 3* veterancy just to take it down, i feel like that juggernaut is just stronger than the abomination on that mission but after, on its own on other missions, hes sort of a pushover, the reason why i rank juggernaut abit higher than the abomination is cause of a presences of the proto-gravemind and its the thing that keeps spawning higher veterancy juggernauts, i think the max is 13* juggernaut, if you see that 13* jug sprinting towards your base, take it out or accept your fate and lose. p.s, ik the 'all the units mod' isnt quite canon or semi canon but ik the game crashes when trying to play 'the flood' mission (and the modder didnt fix it), i think theres away to play it but its a small chance, (play arcadia outskirts all the way to anders signal, once beaten, play the flood, press the windows key, have something like a internet video playing or music playing, hover your curser over your game and hope it doesnt crash, idk if it works but i want to play that missio without a crash, its only that mission it crashes)
You counted each of its forms, but what about the Shifter itself? Its a biological multitool capable of shifting form to fit whatever niche the Flood needs to win the fight - Im guessing its clearly in the "We're fucked" range, eh?
Some people don't realize that some gorillas can be 10 times stronger than a fully grown man. They've been known to bend iron bars with ease. So a a enhanced infection flood version of them sounds really scary.
Gorillas are incredibly strong and the only humans close to being as strong are WSM winners like Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw and Halthor all of which use steroids and other PEDs. No human naturally can match the strength or a reasonably strong Gorilla.
Yes but also not really...? The brutes are far stronger than a gorilla, and we see those in game. An infected gorilla's lethality would be between a human combat form and an elite's, but that's it.

We need a flood-infected spartan cutscene. We would have probably had one in infinite but they decided to stop making them literally the season right before smh
I can imagine a cutscene of the banished scavenging a unsc ship but they find a dead spartan and ignored it but little did they know the ship had flood in it and already infected that spartan. After they got what they needed they were ready to leave when they heard stomping and the ground shaking a bit it was the spartan the music in the background starts to intensify and thus the infected spartan charges at them along with some flood combat forms and during the fight the infected spartan easily beats the brutes and they hijack the phantom and make their way towards the base.

@@AkKingzz Its because the flood could still use the biomass and the suit. But I think the measure of having their heads blown off is to prevent the flood from gaining the memories, intelligence, and other things that would make an end of the world scenerio if the flood gain that .
I feel like one of the big things people don't think about in relaton to the flood is that unlike us humans a gravemind can think of ways to alter the flood to be most optimized to fight whatever enemy it encounters AND can create food forms designed to fight that enemy. The gravemind just evolving and adapting it's army on the fly is one of the scariest parts of the flood.
It's just like the Tyranids from warhammer40K. You can win the first engagement but after a few hours the suddenly change tactics and totally take you by surprise, and whatever you do to adjust your own moves they always adapt

I'm convinced that microscopic flood forms like the super cell and spore are at least partially vulnerable to a normal immune response. That would explain a lot like why the infection forms exist despite being more vulnerable to physical attacks and why the Arbiter wasn't infected in Halo 2. Maybe it takes a large number of them being ingested or a weakened immune system to successfully infect a host. If that's the case then they should be at the bottom of this list.

What about Johnson, Miranda, or literally everyone that was exposed to the flood? Supercell isn’t cannon or it’s effects are limited to the dead or infirm. Or it’s just a plot hole/ would ruin gameplay.

If all of Noble Team minus Jorge, Noble Six, and Emile (he would've joined Six in defending the Autumn as it prepared to leave, and from there probably would've died to the glassing if he survived that last fight), then the Flood probably would've been contained in CE and the Halo games would've proceeded in much the same way, except without the Flood's involvement, of course

Strongly depends on the scenario. Both species are extremely intelligent, but if the reapers have access to the ME races then it won’t go anywhere since the main species were getting clapped by the reapers

We've known that the Logic Plague can infect organics for a while. The Didact, through conversation with the Primordial, was infected with it. Which is why he went genocidal on humans after the Forerunners defeated them As for whether or not the Reapers could catch it, I would say that yes, they can. Medicant Bias is arguably as intelligent as the Star child, who created the Reapers, and he was infected with the Logic Plague after interrogating the Primordial. Granted, he's purely mechanical, but Reapers are at least half mechanical. And given that the Logic Plague can infect both synthetics and organics, I would say that all forms of Reapers would be susceptible to it

Greatest quote ever because it's so true. It always pissed me off when the admiral got mad at the elites with the famous line, " and you shipmaster just glassed half a continent!" And then followed by, "if it were not for the arbiter I would have glassed your entire planet!!!!!" Rtas has seen a full on flood infection on halos 2nd ring. He knows that if he didn't glass Africa the humans, covenant, elites would all have been wiped out. He saved the earth and the admiral showed no grace for it.

The fact the Flood is devious enough to adjust the speed of it's spread or even 'stop' to deceive the uninfected population is what scares me the most.
this will scare you even more then, once there's a gravemind the flood can stop an infection from advancing in a person if they breathe in a flood spore, meaning they can unknowingly spread the infection, just imagine that, you're a marine in a containment wall, you take off your mask for a cheeky snack even though it's against regulations but you're sure it'll be fine since your air sensor says it's within safe parameters and then 5 months later when you're having a briefing with the higher ups you go full goop mode and wipe out a decent amount of the leadership
honestly I wonder if it would put dormant flood cells in a water supply to infect everyone and just trigger them all to be active either directly or at a time (depends on the level of intelligence in the area as do the situation)
Honestly I think the calcium spikes from the ranged pure form and the flood flyers should still infect those who they shoot as those spikes are still made from the flood super cell and would very likely spread the infection from a distance.
Just something silly I thought I'd share, when I was younger and played alot of halo 3s campaign Co op me and my friend always thought the tank pure form was just a flood infested hunter that and we thought the whole hive mind mission was extremely difficult

Though depending on the situation it could go either way, though the floating spore form is less noticable. Imagine a pod infection form infecting a facehugger, acid dosent matter especially if several. A Xenomorph hive or their presumed homeworld getting a visit from the flood... its gonzo 😂

I’m pretty confused about how Flood cells really work. You say a Flood supercell or spore making contact with you means game over, but we’ve seen Brutes covered in Flood biomass during Awakening the Nightmare and walk away fine. So which is it?
What he means is that if it gets inside of you, like if you breathe in a flood spore or a cell gets in your blood stream through a cut, then its game over. Simply touching you is not enough for it to infect you.
Juggernaut analogy: instead of killing the commander to send the enemy into chaos, you kill all the enemy so the commander has no reason to keep fighting
If just touching a super cell could infect you how come regular marines or people can just like walk around places the flood have been or worse get touched by a flood form and not instantly die?
I love these halo Flood videos. The flood are my FAVORITE enemies in Halo so far, and they still are. Are you gonna make more of these flood videos? Cause I'm enjoying these!
Amazing video over all, but I have some discrepancies: The Abomination being so low?! Hell naw! Sure they are beatable, but you need armies and space bombardements of plasma and MACS to take one down. I would put them above the Blightstalkers, because judging them individually, I don't see it being more lethal than an Abomination who dwarfs Brutes and freaking Hunters (perhaps even Sharquois). I would also put the Juggernaut higher than the Tank form, since in Halo Fireteam Raven we see them take on Hunters so easily (who are the size of a Tank form). And lastly, an infected gorilla would be less lethal than a brute's (the brutes are already the size of grizzlys, and have similar if not the same attributes of one, that primate combat form seen in Halo Wars would be close to a Giganthopitecus in terms of size and strength.
Let's be honest a Spartan combat form isn't that bad if you have a flame thrower. I've killed myself with it more than anything. You go down almost instantly.

Rating system is a it screwed, blight stalker wouldn’t be end of the world on its own, yes you need a Gravemind but then your more ranking the level of flood infection stages than anything, purely a unit tier list which this should be, would be way different 😅
He upgraded the Combat Form because of the Gravemind's ability to speak through them and transmit the logic plague without being physically present. But that's an ability of the Gravemind, not of the Combat Form, and this would equally apply to an infected Spartan if you do count it (because an infected Spartan would just be a Combat Form but physically stronger and giving the hivemind more classified info). The Combat Form should definitely be far lower.
Im not sure if you dont know this but in some H3 mcc modded multiplayer maps with ai, if you play on the flood team and receive flood reinforcements there is a small chance that in late game a flood juggernaut spawns in and thrashes up the game. it's pretty cool and I recommend messing around with it every now and then.

So question for you hidden Xperia I've heard halo CE took place over the course of like 2 weeks to maybe a month tops and halo 2 takes place easily within 6 months of halo CE and the gravemind on installation 05 has been there for quite some time and since graveminds retain all the knowledge of previous graveminds why couldn't the gravemind on installation 05 control the flood that master chief released on installation 04? Anyone have any ideas?

This is beautiful, just... Beautiful. The threat difference between the different forms can be massive, but even a single spore can destroy an entire civilization. Thank you for this and thanks for doing the Abomination first, that thing is surprisingly dangerous for being a step down from Proto-Graveminds.
The Flood Carrier Form definetly. Why you may ask? They seem to have this distinct ability to jump scare everyone in the first 2 Halo Games. Like because your surrounded by Flood Typically and they make the same noises, sneaking up on you can be pretty easy, especially in darker levels like The Library, Maw, Sacred Icon, and High Charity.
You mentioned facehuggers, and that gave me an idea. I may be biased because I’m a huge Alien fan, but I think that Xenomorphs would be able to beat the flood during the feral and proto grave mind states, given that both sides have relatively similar populations to spread their numbers with. What do you think of it?
Dont think so myself, sure they could facehug a combatform for example but once the baby xenomorph pops out its allready got a mouthfull of delicious flood flesh which will infect the xenomorph, their acid blood is definitly their biggest strength tho any kind of slash against an adult xenomorph would mean the flood gets severly burned, so in the end the flood is capable of refreshing their forces while every xenomorph dead/infected means its a permanent loss

The more i see and learn about the flood the more i get irritated that 343 cant see the MASSIVE potential for a flood themed horror story. Like that couldve been the tv show. With the success of the last of us, it wouldve been a perfect oppertunity to jump on a story following marines, odst, and oni ops through encounters with the flood. A horror shock from it. ONIs attempts to hush it up and burry it, could impliment Alpha 9 (im sure nathan fillion wouldnt hesitate to do a live action buck) so many oppertunity for a genuine original story that still falls under existing halo lore. But dont hire whoever was responsible for the halo tv show. They never need to be brought into that project
There should be a tier above that. Wrench Flood. The strongest flood combat form. It just pops up behind you and smacks your head with a wrench. You won't see it coming. You can't guard against its guaranteed hit. Wrench Flood.
If we go mainly off of lore, everyone of these forms are "End of the world as we know it" and above. Because their dna and spores spreads in the atmosphere, they can travel through space and vacuum no problem, they are the corrupted version of the Precursors//Primordial (if you piss of a Precursor enough, they won't sweat a drop in throwing a galaxy at you specifically and strangle a whole galaxy with its "Star roads", store ALL information throughout the universe in "The Domain", which the Flood most definitely could also infect and access), even killing the Gravemind (or Keymind if it succeeds) doesn't eradicate the Flood and they could have several Grave/Keyminds in different places or galaxies even, along with hyper-assimilation and exponential growth of knowledge etc. TL,DR: basically, the end of the world is the minimum if only based on lore, because it's already too late.
The Primordial would be the most dangerous. It’s a part of what is essentially a bunch of eldritch gods. If it can create humanity, it can destroy humanity just as quickly. R.I.P Primordial tho, I really want to see in an FPS
It's obviously halo 2 human combat forms...they are SO FAST when they lunge at you and with the shotgun on legendary is MAJOR BS WITH HUMAN COMBAT FORM in sacred icon and quarantine zone
I’d go as far as to argue that the Flood are perhaps one of, if not the most terrifying creations in any sci-fi property, period. And with the additional lore and background provided by new media for Halo, it only further cements that status for them. Usually a repeat appearance for certain threats wears out their welcome in that there isn’t much new stuff done with them (I’d honestly argue this with the Xenomorphs as a prime example of this), but with the Flood, the new additions make dang-near perfect sense, and complement pre-existing aspects of it well. I really hope we get to fight them again in a mainline or spin-off FPS for the series. Also, I should add this: thank you for the mass of Flood content you make on your channel! (There’s an intentional joke here)
Already on he 5th one I WANT A FPS FLOOD OUTBREAK GAME just flood, horror, boom starts out fine and as it goes on it gets scarier the more u play like all the stages of a of the gravemind happening
the only difference i would do from your list is move the Swarmer to "End of the World" as We Know it because as the name would suggest they will attack in swarms, on their own they aren't a real threat but if you deal with a large "flock" or comparable to a large murder of crows you might as well kiss the entire earth goodbye. Another thing of note i have played a mod for Halo Wars and the Swarmer units are absolutely busted when in large groups to a point where buildings are basically made of Public Bathroom Toilet Paper all enemies and vehicles kind of just die the only thing that is sufficient enough to slaughter them all in a MAC Blast, Orbital Strike, or 3 Scarabs (yes specifically 3 at least, 2 will die but take a large number with them 3 can kill the entire group if one isn't directly targeted) Essentially because of the large number of different bird species on Earth (Gears of War fans will understand this) it would be the Equivalent to a more Violent Kryllstorm, the only reason the kryll were slightly more bearable is due to them specifically needing to be tamed and controlled to suit the tamer's needs the Swarmer's on the other hand are a giant intelligent hivemind swarm of smaller airborne lifeforms that can just attack whenever without specifically being told to
I'd have to say the Ranger Pure flood form from Halo 3 is underrated and should be higher. It's caused me a lot of deaths as I'll usually find myself playing through Cortana, stuck behind cover with just a shotgun and energy sword, while half a dozen of them sit on the ceiling shredding my shields every time I poke my head out. If not the most dangerous, it's certainly the most annoying.
I love the flood, but I think they're easier to beat than the covenant and promethians. I enjoy playing flood levels on CE through 3 on legendary. I do better on library than I do on any covenant level on legendary. Besides, if the Flood really had capability to end life on every galaxy in all of space. How did we not go extinct in Halo 3? Infinite is basically halo 6 and we literally killed a gravemind in halo 3 and the banished obviously managed to beat the new forms in halo wars 2. Until we have the final ever halo game, the flood will always be beatable in some way. It may take enemies becoming allies, but they haven't taken over all of outer space yet. Until that happens, I'm more worried about regular human and animal zombies.

We did have an infected Spartan in the Saturn book. The battle basically ended when the infected Spartan started tearing people apart.

I feel like one of the big things people don't think about in relaton to the flood is that unlike us humans a gravemind can think of ways to alter the flood to be most optimized to fight whatever enemy it encounters AND can create food forms designed to fight that enemy. The gravemind just evolving and adapting it's army on the fly is one of the scariest parts of the flood.
It's just like the Tyranids from warhammer40K. You can win the first engagement but after a few hours the suddenly change tactics and totally take you by surprise, and whatever you do to adjust your own moves they always adapt

I'm convinced that microscopic flood forms like the super cell and spore are at least partially vulnerable to a normal immune response. That would explain a lot like why the infection forms exist despite being more vulnerable to physical attacks and why the Arbiter wasn't infected in Halo 2. Maybe it takes a large number of them being ingested or a weakened immune system to successfully infect a host. If that's the case then they should be at the bottom of this list.

What about Johnson, Miranda, or literally everyone that was exposed to the flood? Supercell isn’t cannon or it’s effects are limited to the dead or infirm. Or it’s just a plot hole/ would ruin gameplay.

We've known that the Logic Plague can infect organics for a while. The Didact, through conversation with the Primordial, was infected with it. Which is why he went genocidal on humans after the Forerunners defeated them
As for whether or not the Reapers could catch it, I would say that yes, they can. Medicant Bias is arguably as intelligent as the Star child, who created the Reapers, and he was infected with the Logic Plague after interrogating the Primordial. Granted, he's purely mechanical, but Reapers are at least half mechanical. And given that the Logic Plague can infect both synthetics and organics, I would say that all forms of Reapers would be susceptible to it

He knows that if he didn't glass Africa the humans, covenant, elites would all have been wiped out. He saved the earth and the admiral showed no grace for it.

The fact the Flood is devious enough to adjust the speed of it's spread or even 'stop' to deceive the uninfected population is what scares me the most.
this will scare you even more then, once there's a gravemind the flood can stop an infection from advancing in a person if they breathe in a flood spore, meaning they can unknowingly spread the infection, just imagine that, you're a marine in a containment wall, you take off your mask for a cheeky snack even though it's against regulations but you're sure it'll be fine since your air sensor says it's within safe parameters and then 5 months later when you're having a briefing with the higher ups you go full goop mode and wipe out a decent amount of the leadership
honestly I wonder if it would put dormant flood cells in a water supply to infect everyone and just trigger them all to be active either directly or at a time (depends on the level of intelligence in the area as do the situation)

Honestly I think the calcium spikes from the ranged pure form and the flood flyers should still infect those who they shoot as those spikes are still made from the flood super cell and would very likely spread the infection from a distance.

I’m pretty confused about how Flood cells really work. You say a Flood supercell or spore making contact with you means game over, but we’ve seen Brutes covered in Flood biomass during Awakening the Nightmare and walk away fine. So which is it?

What he means is that if it gets inside of you, like if you breathe in a flood spore or a cell gets in your blood stream through a cut, then its game over. Simply touching you is not enough for it to infect you.

The idea that a combat form can infect a person with the logic plague is scary to me.
Amazing video over all, but I have some discrepancies:
The Abomination being so low?! Hell naw! Sure they are beatable, but you need armies and space bombardements of plasma and MACS to take one down.
I would put them above the Blightstalkers, because judging them individually, I don't see it being more lethal than an Abomination who dwarfs Brutes and freaking Hunters (perhaps even Sharquois).
I would also put the Juggernaut higher than the Tank form, since in Halo Fireteam Raven we see them take on Hunters so easily (who are the size of a Tank form).
And lastly, an infected gorilla would be less lethal than a brute's (the brutes are already the size of grizzlys, and have similar if not the same attributes of one, that primate combat form seen in Halo Wars would be close to a Giganthopitecus in terms of size and strength.
Let's be honest a Spartan combat form isn't that bad if you have a flame thrower. I've killed myself with it more than anything. You go down almost instantly.

if you put an infected spartan in the end of the world as we know it, then the combat form has to be so much lower.
He upgraded the Combat Form because of the Gravemind's ability to speak through them and transmit the logic plague without being physically present. But that's an ability of the Gravemind, not of the Combat Form, and this would equally apply to an infected Spartan if you do count it (because an infected Spartan would just be a Combat Form but physically stronger and giving the hivemind more classified info). The Combat Form should definitely be far lower.

Im not sure if you dont know this but in some H3 mcc modded multiplayer maps with ai, if you play on the flood team and receive flood reinforcements there is a small chance that in late game a flood juggernaut spawns in and thrashes up the game. it's pretty cool and I recommend messing around with it every now and then.

The Flood Carrier Form definetly. Why you may ask? They seem to have this distinct ability to jump scare everyone in the first 2 Halo Games. Like because your surrounded by Flood Typically and they make the same noises, sneaking up on you can be pretty easy, especially in darker levels like The Library, Maw, Sacred Icon, and High Charity.

Dont think so myself, sure they could facehug a combatform for example but once the baby xenomorph pops out its allready got a mouthfull of delicious flood flesh which will infect the xenomorph, their acid blood is definitly their biggest strength tho any kind of slash against an adult xenomorph would mean the flood gets severly burned, so in the end the flood is capable of refreshing their forces while every xenomorph dead/infected means its a permanent loss

The more i see and learn about the flood the more i get irritated that 343 cant see the MASSIVE potential for a flood themed horror story. Like that couldve been the tv show. With the success of the last of us, it wouldve been a perfect oppertunity to jump on a story following marines, odst, and oni ops through encounters with the flood. A horror shock from it. ONIs attempts to hush it up and burry it, could impliment Alpha 9 (im sure nathan fillion wouldnt hesitate to do a live action buck) so many oppertunity for a genuine original story that still falls under existing halo lore. But dont hire whoever was responsible for the halo tv show. They never need to be brought into that project

More flood stuff! The flood are one of my favorite species in halo, their just so interesting.
If we go mainly off of lore, everyone of these forms are "End of the world as we know it" and above. Because their dna and spores spreads in the atmosphere, they can travel through space and vacuum no problem, they are the corrupted version of the Precursors//Primordial (if you piss of a Precursor enough, they won't sweat a drop in throwing a galaxy at you specifically and strangle a whole galaxy with its "Star roads", store ALL information throughout the universe in "The Domain", which the Flood most definitely could also infect and access), even killing the Gravemind (or Keymind if it succeeds) doesn't eradicate the Flood and they could have several Grave/Keyminds in different places or galaxies even, along with hyper-assimilation and exponential growth of knowledge etc.
TL,DR: basically, the end of the world is the minimum if only based on lore, because it's already too late.

It's obviously halo 2 human combat forms...they are SO FAST when they lunge at you and with the shotgun on legendary is MAJOR BS WITH HUMAN COMBAT FORM in sacred icon and quarantine zone
I’d go as far as to argue that the Flood are perhaps one of, if not the most terrifying creations in any sci-fi property, period. And with the additional lore and background provided by new media for Halo, it only further cements that status for them. Usually a repeat appearance for certain threats wears out their welcome in that there isn’t much new stuff done with them (I’d honestly argue this with the Xenomorphs as a prime example of this), but with the Flood, the new additions make dang-near perfect sense, and complement pre-existing aspects of it well. I really hope we get to fight them again in a mainline or spin-off FPS for the series.

the only difference i would do from your list is move the Swarmer to "End of the World" as We Know it because as the name would suggest they will attack in swarms, on their own they aren't a real threat but if you deal with a large "flock" or comparable to a large murder of crows you might as well kiss the entire earth goodbye. Another thing of note i have played a mod for Halo Wars and the Swarmer units are absolutely busted when in large groups to a point where buildings are basically made of Public Bathroom Toilet Paper all enemies and vehicles kind of just die the only thing that is sufficient enough to slaughter them all in a MAC Blast, Orbital Strike, or 3 Scarabs (yes specifically 3 at least, 2 will die but take a large number with them 3 can kill the entire group if one isn't directly targeted)
Essentially because of the large number of different bird species on Earth (Gears of War fans will understand this) it would be the Equivalent to a more Violent Kryllstorm, the only reason the kryll were slightly more bearable is due to them specifically needing to be tamed and controlled to suit the tamer's needs the Swarmer's on the other hand are a giant intelligent hivemind swarm of smaller airborne lifeforms that can just attack whenever without specifically being told to
I'd have to say the Ranger Pure flood form from Halo 3 is underrated and should be higher. It's caused me a lot of deaths as I'll usually find myself playing through Cortana, stuck behind cover with just a shotgun and energy sword, while half a dozen of them sit on the ceiling shredding my shields every time I poke my head out. If not the most dangerous, it's certainly the most annoying.
I love the flood, but I think they're easier to beat than the covenant and promethians. I enjoy playing flood levels on CE through 3 on legendary. I do better on library than I do on any covenant level on legendary. Besides, if the Flood really had capability to end life on every galaxy in all of space. How did we not go extinct in Halo 3? Infinite is basically halo 6 and we literally killed a gravemind in halo 3 and the banished obviously managed to beat the new forms in halo wars 2. Until we have the final ever halo game, the flood will always be beatable in some way. It may take enemies becoming allies, but they haven't taken over all of outer space yet. Until that happens, I'm more worried about regular human and animal zombies.
