I just did this with a huge rose from my Grandma's funeral. I am so excited to be able to preserve it! Thanks for your video it was awesome to watch and follow along! all the best!
You posted this a day after my birthday. Also some tips that you might have already learned by now. But just in case you havent, here they are. 1. Silica Gel is reusable 2. You can pour directly over the flower and the higher up you pour the softer it lands on the flower 3. Shake the bin to get in between the petals and into the nooks and crannies. 4. Dry the larger flowers and smaller flowers separately. Larger and more poofy and voluminous flowers take much longer then smaller and flat-er flowers to dry. 5. Try fake flowers to reduce your cost.
I love to dry tops and bottoms , and you can re use the silica over and over !! Store in a sealed container. Buy two bags 😊 it will last a long time❣️❣️
They all turned out beautiful!!! You’re so lucky to have access so many pretty flowers. I do know some flowers will dry after 1 day while others take 2-3 days. You can also turn your flowers upside down in The silica so they won’t flatten out as much. Or just make a little valley around the flower.
Hi, I use dried floral from my yard, to decorate grape vine items, small chairs, wreathes, baskets, any thing I can find. They end looking like fairy 🧚♂️ furniture. Some time include a small gift, hand lotion, cookies etc. what I wanted to tell that I have tried all ways of drying. My go to way is placing flowers in egg carton to preserve shape, and placing in refrigerator. The defrost cycle removes the moisture and dries them. I am happy w results, and they stay pretty for a coupe of years. Try it, nothing ventured nothing gained. They do not fall apart, and cost is minimal.
I just stumbled across your videos and I love how joyful you are about flowers! your happiness is so infectious. Drying flowers has been a hobby of mine for years so it's super neat finding a little community like this one!
The flowers are so incredible! I've grown flowers and get flowers sent to me, always the same roses, lilies and carnations. I'm happy to get them. But, wow! the flowers you have to work with are amazing! I've only seen maybe a pic in a magazine. It is really terrific how enthusiastic you are about them. Watching this one video has opened my eyes. This may be a bad thing because, I may have to travel far and pay a lot for some flowers like that. I live in the country and I believe I'll have to travel far to find flower shops that carry something different. Seriously, I love the flowers and I am in awe. The love you show for them mirrors the way I feel just watching the video. You have either broadened my horizons or I'll be going on a long expensive quest! Anyway, beautiful video. And now I must go to watch how it turns out. Thank you!
Hi, I love your channel! In the video you said there would be a second video about the sphere molds. Can someone please link me to that? Thanks so much! ❤️
Omg. Im a stay at home mom and ive been desperately needing a new hobby. I think this might be it! Youre so beautiful and your personality is just fabulous. Subscribed!
Yes those are absolutely beautiful!!!!! I recently got into resin moulding with flowers and with me being a qualified florist this is definitely going to be a new hobby of mine xxxx
I have been trying to figure out how to dry and press flowers by myself because to be honest buying them off Amazon they are expensive and you don't get that many. Watching your videos made me learn so much and now I can do it!! THANK YOU!!
The bubbles are associated with moisture left in the flower, to the best of my knowledge, they just aren't quite dry enough, if you get the frothing above the flower. The good news is you can usually hide it with a creative top coat, and some sanding!
I think that the flower with the fluffy little petals in the middle is an opium poppy. Yes the peony rose is just gorgeous, and the little blue one, {love in the mist} is so delicate. I can hardly wait to see how they all turn out in next video. Love being with you you are a breath of Sunshine.🦚
I just wrote a poem about another "wild girl" poppy, Matilija. She's far out! So I enjoyed seeing your "funky poppy."! This method sounds like a delightful way to send 1 or more flowers inexpensively and safely in the mail. My daughter doesn't want stuff, so without the resin even is a 👍 way to 🎁! 💝 Your channel
I recently started drying flowers in silica gel as well. I found using a tote that has dividers useful so you can dry different size flowers and not use as much gel 😊
Artsy Madwoman I found a really nice one on of course Amazon LOL it’s very adjustable and I think will work for all but maybe the largest flowers. I’ve not done anything super large yet so could not say for sure, but have definitely done some different sizes and it’s been very useful to be able to have the adjustments 😊
Artsy Madwoman if you are interested check out bins & things stackable storage container with 30 adjustable compartments. I bought the XL one. Happy flower drying 😁
This video popped up in my recommended videos because I like watching resin art channels. Then you mentioned the florist you work at and and I thought "Oh, there's a nice shop near me with that name, too." Then I noticed the state in the background & realized it IS the same nice flowershop! LOL Small world. Do you teach a workshop locally?
Just stumbled upon your channel...yay!!! I love it! :):):) flowers are my favorite thing so to see how you are keeping them beautiful forever is inspiring!
I know you are Heaven sent. My daughter gave me the most awesome dozen of roses for my 65th birthday 12-13-2019. I wanted to know how to do this very thing you are doing THANK YOU LOVE.
Your video got me so excited to try this. I already watched the resin video before this one and I can't wait to start. Thank you for your enthusiasm and creativity.
I actually took out hibiscus'and another flower i left in for months and it was fine. It falling apart depends on the type of flower, how thin/fragile it is or the damage it sustained before putting it to dry
I just started getting into resin and all that and girl you saved my life. Learning from your dos and donts, your fails and learn your mistakes, and your tips and trick I can’t wait to start again and get everything right on the dot! I love your personality and I will look forward to being a new subbie
I am so sorry for your loss but so glad you found this in time. I wish I had known about this when I lost my grandparents. Much love and comforting hugs, I cannot imagine your pain right now 💜💜💜
Finallyyyy I found this video as I just attend my graduation and I get some bouquets but now I feel so sad to watch them dying 😭 Gotta try this as soon as I buy all those staffs. Thank you so much
Yassssssss Girl!!!! That's is so close to what I've been looking for. How freaking awesome to work in a flower shop. I grow orchids, and many other flowers, and I'm tired of squishing them. I really want them to keep their shape. You can use that silica over and over, don't throw it out. I can't wait to try this. You just got a new sub♥
Yes! I think the directions said once it turns pink, that means it’s full of moisture so you can either put it in the microwave or in the oven to dry it out again!
Great videos and very informative. This maybe a stupid questions so please excuse my ignorance. Is there any reason why you can't preserve the stalk as well? Thanks
Hi loving your videos. I’m hoping to get into this myself. But one question where is the second part of this video where you cast the big peony that you dried in the video?? As I. The next video in list it’s already made on the desk behind you I so wanna see this close up it’s looks amazing ❤️❤️❤️
You are really genius at your projects . Thank you so much for enlightening us . A big God bless you for being so funny. The best project I have seen so far . Enjoyed every bit of it😘
I adore poppies, so if course I have to say the poppy is gorgeous. The small orange/red rose come out those best I would say, but !I've them all. Hugs x Ann x
Aaahhh i’m so inspired, thank you! I’m taking a one year course to become a florist here in The Netherlands at the end of this summer, and i can’t wait. It’s going to be so much fun to try all of this. New sub🌸💗
Nutty Insomniac Nutty Insomniac Hi! I did 3/4 of the course, and then Covid happened. The schools are open here in The Netherlands, so my course resumes at the end of September. To be honest, the things we learn are extremely dated, so a lot of the techniques are not used at the flowershops here. I still love flowers and being creative with them, i just don’t particularly like the course. My exams are in November, so i’m going to power trough. Thanks for asking! 🌼
I have never done this craft before, but as a fellow Heather and lover of flowers, this is totally up my alley! I'm a new viewer of yours and liked and subbed!
I’m so glad I found your video my boo bought me flowers after my miscarriage and I was so sad I didn’t have a way to keep them and I found your channel 🌸🌸💞 thanks so much
Question: Do you have to use dried flowers? I have a beautiful rose colored Hydrangea.. Its different shades of rose, pink, white all on one flower, but drying it would kill the color
If you USE THE SILICA, It Shouldn't. If you check out Part 2 of This Video YOU WILL SEE ALL THE FLOWERS CAME OUT DRIED WIIITH THEIR COLOR INTACT~ It Was AWESOME! Just check the drying timing, as they seem to dry faster than what's stated on the product's enclosure! YEAH, FIND PART 2 if you can, so you can see. GR8 LUCK!
SO, I totes got the silica gel after watching this video (ur amazing and thank you so much for the info!) But now I'm stuck trying to get all the silica off the flowers so I can put them in resin. Any tips on the best way to get the silica off without damaging the petals?
Not only are you an awesome, hilarious person, but you are really pretty! You're what Kylie Jenner wishes she could pull off. Thank you for the amazing tutorial. I've been looking for something like this for years!
Do you recommend using silica gel instead of air drying to keep the color vibrant? I've air dried a few roses and they turned quite brown, trying to decide if i should give the silica gel a go
I love this silica cuz if it absorbs too much moisture you can dry it in the oven and then keep using it! It changes colors when it’s absorbed all the moisture it can
Just started growing wild flowers. They grow like weeds. So many different colors can’t wait to try this. I love your RUclips videos. Your excitement is coming through and I am catching it. lol

Can you do a video on painting our dried flowers please? Like, I know how to paint the white flowers but I want to be able to make some of my sunflowers pink.
Yes it can! I know.. I forgot to mention that *face palm* lol but in the directions, it says the silca gel will turn pink when its full of moisture so you can microwave it to get the moisture out & it should tuen blue again! I haven't tried it myself yet though
This is amazing, I love it! I was weirdly thinking of buying silica gel like a couple days before you posted the first video, now you have basically decided for me.. SO GETTING IT!!! I love how you don't edit out too many mistakes.. like trying to pronounce that flower "aaaaaassssssssss...." Lmao, love it!
i don't know if you can get cat litter with silica, but if you do - put silica in a jar and a flower in it, put silica all over and than put it in full effect in a microwave för 60 second and it's all dry! you may put it in for 60 seconds again if it's a thick flower! Perhaps you can put the silica you use in the video in the microwave? A new try out video! 😍
I don't know if this question has already been asked but can you store the flowers after they've been in silica gel? Like keep them in a tote or something until you want to use them Or should you preserve it in resin as quick as you can? Thank you!
I just did this with a huge rose from my Grandma's funeral. I am so excited to be able to preserve it! Thanks for your video it was awesome to watch and follow along! all the best!
