i built the black ranger helmet a bit ago. got it signed by walter jones. i put the rivet buckles on before paint. also i use latex gloves as much as possible handling it after paint. best holders you can get for painting details can be found at your dollar store. Go get those 1 dollar paper towel holders and 1 dollar nerf footballs. cut slit in ball and put holder in it. easy display and paint stand.
knew I liked u for a reason... 90s babies... I can't wait for them street sharks and biker mice from mars remakes! Also, when I do my miniature detail work and large cosplay pieces... memory foam and nitril gloves. great for molding to what you're painting, and never leave them oil prints!
Can u imagine a biker mice from mats helmet!!! 🤯. I use nitril gloves but I had the thin ones. I’m going to try and use the think ones I use for resin printing now! 🫡 thanks!!!
Definitely add the clamps on before paint and just paint them the same color as helmet! And there are many different styles of buckles as well to check out for a cleaner look
Get the lint free rags out of the auto parts section. They will just wipe off the finger prints. I bought a big bag at walmart. I’m sure Amazon sells them too. A light car polish is nice too. Then any finger prints after. They just wipe off.
@@JustGee3D no problem bro. When I first started printing. It was hard to find what the new guy was going to run into. It was always the way advanced hobbyist pages. They are good and all but miss details that you are talking about. They forget not everyone is a pro. That’s why this page is a good page for starters. I have made a bunch of helmets so far. To tell the truth. You are doing great. Wait till you get into padding them out and adding power items. I added a fan system into a Green Power Ranger. Keeps it cool 😎 I wish you well on this page. Wished it had been around back in the day. It would have made it loads easier. Just orientation of the part and why. Great video 👍
Good video! I always watch new power ranger helmet makers. Some tips: Use flat paint when you can instead of gloss, and clear coat it to get the clear, that way you don't get all of those imperfections in it. Gloss paint is notorious for it. Rivet the clasps before you paint and just paint them the same color as everything else. How did you make your visor?
Thank you that’s great advice. I will prob be doing that in the near future. I had some scrap clear plastic lying around cut it to shape then window tented it. I made a YT short vid you can check that out if you want to.
Airbrushes I would suggest Grex or Iwata. I have several and those in my honest opinion have never failed me. I also have a few Harder and Steenbeck but they are very moody. Another option is GSI which are more budget friendly and lay down amazing line work, you can actually draw with those also.
The airbrush I use is the Iwata Neo trigger airbrush it’s .35mm it’s been my daily driver!! I just bought a Grex Tritium. TS7 it’s another trigger gun that’s .7 mm nozzle but I need to get a bigger air compressor to use that bad boy. What Brushes do you have?
Man you can just skip the visor part! Wanted to know how ya did it or was it the same as mando window tint and clear plastic sheet? Also from spray to sanding how soon do you start sanding for a “wet coat “?
I recently made a short on making visors, and I did it just like my Mando build. I try not to be too redundant in my videos. And for the sanding the can instructions says you can sand after an hour or so… I usually wait 3-4 hours depending how thick of a wet coat I use.
Ur a hidden gem on the platform ima put all my friends on good work my guy !
Thank you!!! That means a lot!! And I appreciate you sharing my videos with your friends. The more exposure the better, so thanks 🙌🏾

Keep the buckles color matched
I think so too!
Yo good shit man ✊🏾
Aye, thank you so much!
Try to do as much drilling and fitting before final paint. That way you have less of a chance of scratching stuff.
Yeah these finger prints be killing me. Taking away as much touching as possible after painting would help a lot!! Ty!
😂nice job where did you get air booth?
Thanks, I custom built it!
Put the buckles on before painting
Yea I really needed to do them before. Thx
@@JustGee3D that way you can hit it in one shot and makes it easier lol
5:44 How about adding the clamps before you paint it?
Yeah, that’s what I should have done!! Learn something new ya know. 😂

Do you have a link for the buckle?

I just had a filament tangle ruin a 5hr print.
Man… It’s the worst, yesterday my Neptune just went out after 25hr print so trust me I get it
