Thank you so much, that means so much coming from you! And trust me, been watching your videos before I even started my journey. You make this look easy!!!
I've used rub n buff before myself but for some reason yours us really popping. I normally dab it on lightly with a sponge. I'm thinking because you used a brush quite liberally that's what did it. I gotta try applying it your way now
Hey, I have a few questions for you if that's okay. What infill density did you use, what size did you have that at, did you have a trick to not use as many supports. Also these next questions you dont need to answer but only if you can but if you can tell what infill pattern, layer height etc and how exactly you measured it. That would be amazing. Also you have earned yourself a fellow subscriber now😊
Yea no worries infill Density is at 15%. I printed this at 100% I use a 360 scan of my head (there’s an app called MagiScan I use on my phone). I try to keep supports to a min, the middle of my helmets usually don’t need supports so I add support blockers. My infill pattern is grid, I print at a .2mm layer height and again I use a 360 scan of my head! I hope this helps
Dude you have some mad skills! Absolutely amazing job and looking forward to your next project! I was wondering if you’d be able to list the other paints down in the description since it is kinda hard to read the paints in the video
Thank you so much, no not yet, I’m still learning airbrushing myself. I have picked up a few things. No I never heard that one before. lol I usually get Ice Cube.
Excellent video, I've been working on my own. When you put it on your head - how are you keep both pieces together? I assume you didn't glue it together?
awesome stuff. Saw a comment of yours on another video and decided to check you out and im glad i did. Question... would you recommend elegoo neptune 4 max? highly considering it for my first printer but I keep seeing a bunch of negative videos with a few positive. I'm a product design student and want to mainly use it for product design prototypes but could also benefit from having fine details in my prints, the large build size, and definitely also consider helmets and cosplay prints
So I know a lot of the bad reviews for the 4 max was early on when they had a bad firmware. They’re pretty good now I heard. But if money is no object I would recommend getting a Bambu Lab either A-1 or P1P the speed you get from the would be worth it prototyping!
@@JustGee3D gotcha, thanks. the print size of the neptune really draws me to it. Speed isn't too much a concern right now to be honest as it would be a home printer and I won't have to rely on my schools 3d printers so that already would save a ton of time and energy. the bambu labs is also a stellar choice though. especially with the possibility of doing multi color prints on the fly. but that would also be about the price of another printer for that feature alone on the p1. elegoo may end up making say a neptune 5 in maybe a year or 2, and maybe that might be the better time to get a large volume printer.... as the bambu printer will still be a top of the line quality and feature printer for another 5 years if not more so it definitely has more future proofing to it. I'll think more on it and may make my final decisions around black friday since the deals should really be in effect at that time. thanks again.
Just sand the really bad spots with 220 grit sand paper, if you’re really feeling froggy use bondo and acetone (lightly) or you can just cake on primer filler!
ROFL, I was about to give you a hard time about printing the helmet, personally I'm not a big fan of the helmet but that's my opinion. But I loved it when you said "No matter what you think about the show". That was well played. And yes, your work on the helmet was really awesome. Nicely done. 😄😄
11/10 bro, perfect collectible for those who love the star wars helmets.
Thanks bro, I tried to get it close to the show as possible.
Out here making this all look easy! Fantastic build!!!

Amazing work man!

WOW! That came out incredible, nice work!
Thank you so much!! 🙌🏾
Looks wicked my man! 👊

Thank you!
I also applied a black gloss base coat too but thanks for the kind words!!!
The chrome on those teeth is no joke!
Thanks Vek, all that practicing is starting to pay off!!
Hi Gee,
Excellent work again Sir, love the chrome grill...😁😁
Andy...
Thank you Griff, and thank you for that touching email and your backstory, I love to get to know the people who view my videos! 🫶🏾
Very impressive, beautiful work love it, see if try out Captain Enoch or Tie Fighter Pilot Helmet.😁
I saw other people doing the Captain Enoch and I chickened out, because this one turned out so good I might just give it a try! 🤷🏾♂️
Man that looks amazing, like the real thing!!!
Thanks my G I really wanted to put my all into this!
Awesome work dude! I love that chrome look on the teeth
Thank you so much! Thanks one of my favorite parts too
Super Dope!
Thanks 🔥
It looks really cool
Thank you Bees
Looks awesome, I am in the middle of printing my own (The Stranger ) helmet , the bracer and lightsaber on my K1Max.
When I got this file they didn’t have the gauntlet yet. I definitely would have made that too
damn that looks good
Thank you so much!
Great 👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Really cool
Thank you A.MJ! 🙌🏾
❤❤❤❤nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
I have a neptune 3 plus as well I NEED A BAMBU NOW LOL no way I could get something that smooth with just filler primer on my neptune
Yea not on my Neptune lol

What's the name of the mask you are using while sanding?
Yeah no doubt!

Absolutely amazing job and looking forward to your next project!
I was wondering if you’d be able to list the other paints down in the description since it is kinda hard to read the paints in the video
Thank you so much, and yea I can do that for you. They were just some paints I found at Michael’s.
Also you should try to make a stormtrooper helmet
I haven’t don’t a Stormtrooper helmet yet, but I did complete a Captain Rex Clonetrooper helmet
Good vibes my guy! Do you have an air brush tutorial? Also anyone ever tell you that you look like Kevin Durant?
Thank you so much, no not yet, I’m still learning airbrushing myself. I have picked up a few things.
No I never heard that one before. lol I usually get Ice Cube.
Excellent video, I've been working on my own. When you put it on your head - how are you keep both pieces together? I assume you didn't glue it together?
The front and back are held together using 8x2mm magnets
Do another Star Wars helmet 🙏🏾
What helmet you thinking?

No worries!
Awesome job. Did you enlarge the eye sockets?
No I didn’t just keep them the same!
Im about to try this but with a way worse printer, how much would sanding more ruin all the texture? Yours looks great btw!
Just sand the really bad spots with 220 grit sand paper, if you’re really feeling froggy use bondo and acetone (lightly) or you can just cake on primer filler!
This is one I want to do, just cant find a good stl
Galactic armory makes top notch stls and i believe they just released this helmet
@@dustinwest5789 nice its on the paetron... $15 and i also get my vader? win
I’ve used Galactic before for my Mando helmet, they do good work, but I’m very happy with this one from Do3D!
@@JustGee3D the teeth on to Do3d ones look nicer... galatic has a ton of options for printing which is kinda cool
I really like their Mando helmet too!
you should make a Darth Vater Helmet
He’s iconic
He is, that maybe something I will do in the feature for sure
Just curious what you use for the teeth in regards to making them look like chrome
It’s a gloss black base coat, then I airbrushed some chrome paint by Ammo!
How do you seal rub and buff? i feel like i have pieces that are months old that still rub off
I didn’t have to seal it, prob because I applied it so thin it dried all the way threw
Did i actually find a fan of the show?
lol I liked the show! 🤫
@@JustGee3D Me 2!
Not sure if I missed it in the vid but what layer height did you use?
I might have left it out, people tend to skip the slicer setting. But I printed this a .2mm layer height
@@JustGee3D that’s soo clean! I’m looking to make cosplay with 3d print to so now I know .2 is good enough
I'm always worried about Rub and Buff wearing off on the rest of the costume.
Rub and buff drys out, I had no problem with this coming off!
Clearcoat it afterwards
@@MitsuolevelI'm not sure that would work seeing as rub n buff has a kinda wax/oil texture. Or have you done it?

Haha, I knew I was gonna get hate regardless for printing this helmet so I had to go all out, thanks for the compliment! 🙌🏾
My pleasure, you have talent that I can only dream of having. You just got my subscription, looking forward to seeing more videos! 😁
I know I’m late but thanks again for the kind words!!!

What a waste of a print
lol… I like it, that’s all that matters 😂
