yeah that was pure skill by Squishy. he took advantage of the shit angular resolution of the cyberdemon. see that big round thing? thats all brain. cos he thinks. smart cacodemon.
I like the cacos in the nightmare when one of them would flying to distract the cyber so other cacos on the ground can keep shooting him until die, that some nice battle IQ from caco
The outcome of the final battle might have been different if those two cyberdemons at 15:29 were actually shooting instead of jerking each other off in the middle of the fight
I love these videos. If only 10 year old me could ever imagine what the future would bring. Fast computers and monster infighting on a grand stage. Bravo
Nightmare Caco seems to be the most difficult enemy in the game. They get 50% projectile boost which is faster than any other enemy, along with increased aggression. Basically will win any fight.
Predicted that the Cybers would flawlessly make tomato chutney on UV, but nice to see the Cacos largely have the edge on Nightmare, with smug grins to go with it.
Serious discussion, the Caco's habit to distance itself after attack appeared to help some in evading Cyberdemon rockets. But looks like the large numbers and somewhat crammed arena space hindered this once the Caco literally had their backs to the wall.
The problem here is the "slow moving" rockets. Takes too long to reach the enemies and in this case the Cyberdemons biggest flaw and the fact that he locks-on to one enemy at the time (and minor that he keeps on shooting 3 or 6 rockets when it's enough with one more hit.) Can't switch target inbetween
Cacos do better then their stats and dps would suggest. A single Caco can draw aggro away from the group, while floating away from rockets. Cacos at different elevations have little issue raining down all of their projectiles. Cacos don't tend to to just group up and all die to splash damage (like most other enemies). And they get huge buffs in Nightmare xD
2:21 "lol, I'm just going to slowly float up into the ceiling so the missiles narrowly miss me and disappear into the skybox." -- One infuriating tomato
i know it is a mere fortunate inertia, but it looks like if cacobros eventually develop some tactics where the targeted one dodges around while others are barraging the damage unlike them, cyberdemons totally suck at a teamwork
Watching a bunch of Flying Basketballs laying waste to each Rocket Guy in turn was pure poetry! Problem for them is all the splash damage for them when they swarm around. Only takes 2 rocket direct-hits to zero a Basketball, so swarming next to each other does them in too quickly.
Cool video again, glad cacos won the vote! I'm still left wondering how many cacos would equal one cyberdemon on UV though. My guess would be maybe 25. 🤔
Oh it's freaking hilarious, when the cyber-demon concentrates all his fire power on the one Cacodemon floating away (AND KEEPS MISSING), while the rest of the crew fires away at him eating away at his health. Like dude, maybe reassess your priorities.
Yeah, a few AI tweaks (target closest enemy, prioritise pain ellies over lost souls, don't using hitscan weapon if allies are blocking target) would really change the outcome of some of these matchups.
Doom AI encourages monsters to concentrate their fire it seems, which is a waste for the Cyberdemons (one Cacodemon gets thirty rockets fired at it) but very effective for the Cacos.
2:22 “Gary.. don’t you block me aga… Goddammit Gary! Get outta my _way!_ I can’t even _see_ him! I mean.. do you _like_ getting shot in the fly hole? Because I’m going to shoot you _in the fly hole!”_ 13:38 now that’s a lot of tomatoes. 15:36 why did you move away from that group? You should have focused on those 5 getting wiped out almost simultaneously.
Okay, as someone who's not too deep into all the mechanics of Doom, but has watched a lot of these videos now, what is the deal with Ultra Violence vs. Nightmare? Is it just showing the difference between the highest difficulty and the 2nd highest? Because the monsters always seem to be enormously more aggressive and focused in Nightmare mode than in UV.
That, and also as you can see, the monsters have a higher rate of fire. Which is why the cacodemons turn the tables on the much tougher cyberdemons on nightmare difficulty.
The major difference is that Nightmare has a setting called Fast Monsters. This significantly cuts down on the time duration of a lot of their normal routines, though how much it changes the monster can vary.
targeting system is off with the 50 cacos. trying to hit a floating demon when damage output would be more optimal to other targets. flaws in the game.
That Cacodemon was such a badass dodging those Rockets like it’s the Matrix in the 1vs8 Nightmare Round
From 2:19.

They are not flying to distract. They are merely getting pushed in that direction by the first hit.
@bojohannesen4352 I just thinking that cacodemon being smart but ok
The outcome of the final battle might have been different if those two cyberdemons at 15:29 were actually shooting instead of jerking each other off in the middle of the fight
Last nightmare round was pure poetry, the massive beam of fireballs sweeping the CDs like they were nothing.
Yup, those CDs really owned those CDs. The CDs didn't have a chance against the CDs!

The UV Nightmare difference in this match up is crazy. Compare 20:200 UV and Nightmare. A 20(!)-0 win vs a 0-115 loss.
I always thought regular cacos are too placid and rather ineffective compared to other enemies. Nice to see their vicious streak come out! 😆

@@costco_pizza I dunno; the Pinkies get good showings in their nightmare rounds.

Dodging these electric shots in nightmare was truly pain cause these meatballs will shoot constantly!
They focused too much on flying demons.
It’s a ‘he’, actually.
Power of arial combat!
This might be my favourite match up, and it was beautiful.
15:44 DAT DISRESPECT 🤣🤣🤣
The biting Caco? Pure Chad.

Cacos have no resistance to being hit, so they are always moved by the momentum of being hit, which is why they will glide until they hit a wall
Just wait till we get to Complex Doom Infighting videos.
Impresionante cómo los cacodemonios se transforman en pesadilla
The problem here is Cyberdemons try to hit cacos above instead destroy the ones below. Anyway, I love saturday of Cyberdemon ass-kicking videos 👌

It is not fair that the Cyberdemon does not get the 33% projectile speed bonus on Nightmare! difficulty. They need to add that to make it more fair.

Those last two numeric battles were pure slaughter on both sides.
For a giant spiky flying meatball, Cacodemons can be quite dodgy sometimes!

I'm watching the 20 v 200 on UV and I'm thinking I feel sorry for the cyberdemons in the next round hell is on it way lol
15:44 CACODEMON used BITE. It wasn't very effective.
Wow, some of those cybies stepped up to take hits for the others in 10 vs 100 NM.

Guys, it's not working. I'm going to distract him while you continue attacking.
The never took their eyes off the ones that went up and away, even if hit they just chased.

Cacos is smarty.
I take it that the caco's tendency to fly up against the cyberdemon is because of his height??
hilarious how its the AI alone thats killing the Cybers lol.
