I like how most of the Pain Elemental deaths are entirely accidental due to either getting between the Mancabus and their intended target or simply being hit by a stray shot.
Man those nightmare stat battles got hectic as all hell. Pain elementals seemed to get done in by their own soul spawns more than the actual Mancubi though.
Hey @GG retro battles, I really like your videos, but something alway bothered me, could you show the HP left one by one of the survivors not just 1/2 = 50% survived. Obviosly not with all lost souls, but at he cyberdemon and spidermastermind battle it would have been awesome.
So looks like even numbers give Mancubi enough of an edge to dispatch the Pain Elementals and their spawn. But reduce those numbers and the Mancubi eventually get overwhelmed.
Another really cool battle I was going to ask for this 1eventually cause it’s interesting to see how the Mancubus would do against the Pain Elemental, could you also please do The Spidermastermind vs Pain Elementals too?
@@spacemanspiff6332 Another really cool battle, I was going to ask for this one eventually (referring to the video), 'cause it's interesting to see how Mancubus would do against Pain Elementals. And then he asks for the Mastermind versus Pain Elementals.
@@nrgrth7988 thank you for explaining to him for me I was almost going to ask if he meant whut as in he didn’t understand what I said? Which I would have tried to explain to him again or if he meant whut as in why would I request a matchup like that? In which case I would’ve said because it would be funny to watch just thinking about a Spidermastermind being swarmed by Pain Elementals and their Lost Souls and would they actually win or not? That’d be pretty funny too either way watching the Spidermastermind trying to shoot up endless Lost Souls would be funny
The NIGHTMARE! battle was so chaotic! I gotta say despite the Mancubi lost some battles, they performed quite well. The thing is that the Pain Elementals can use the Lost Soul as both as a shield and as a distraction, so that gives them a lot of advantage
At higher numbers, the Pains' kids are all fighting each other AND their parents to have their turn at the Mancubi and thus Team Pain loses, but that issue hardly manifests with lower numbers and thus the fatties get trimmed there due to their slower attacks and having to burn through the stunlocking boneheads to get to the meatheads that make them. Suddenly, I'm hungry.
Great videos, quick question. Since the same demons aren't fighting each other like they might in the game, do projectiles from the same demons hurt each others HP or not? Hope that was clear enough. Thanks, look forward to the next vid! Cheers!
@@Dontlettheworldrot A DOOM RUclipsr named Decino did a video about that very topic and combed through DOOM II's code to find how it works, the exceptions and the bugs.
@@Dontlettheworldrot You should. Also, I'd like to correct myself, the main exceptions for my initial statement is hit scan based projects, so chain gunners and shotgunners can other chain gunners and shotgunners. Pain Elementals are also an odd exception because usually the Lost Souls are the projectiles and they change as an entity whenever they're charging or not.

Daaamn that was some battle.

The code that I have currently does not support that. I'll have to figure out how to do that, no guarantees though.
This battle is such a pain in the butt thanks to those pain elementals

pain elemental , rightfully named, the most annoying, painful enemy.
Totally a pain in the butt
Certainly a pain in the element
They are really an elemental pain

Any demon that uses projectiles can't hurt a demon of the same type.

Beautiful
Chaingunners vs pain elementals would be awesome
Already done, the chain gunners stood no chance because of friendly fire.

Is this Doom 2 builder? or something else?
Doom Builder 2 and SLADE.
Flamethrowers vs. Demonic Meatballs and Flying Skulls
The Mancubi do pretty well when they aren't accidentally shooting each other in the back.
lost souls kills more elementals than mancu lmao
Id like to see Lost Souls fight against DOOM64 Lost Souls...I bet the 64 souls win lol
Poor lost souls they never count for anything
