duggie25 i went to one of their shows awhile ago and got to meet them afterwards and jon lent kept calling me fat and he took all the money from my wallet when i went to buy a shirt at the merch table
duggie25 Jon lent once kicked me right in the spleen because he thought I took the last donut at a 7/11, he then proceeded to tell me he don’t even like donuts, spat in my face, robbed the cashier, broke a window and went right through it, even though it was right next to the door. All around a pretty cool bloke.
i love how you came a year later and wrote a totally different comment, and also the harambe picture may he rip in peace smh. And by the way, nice channel lol
@@TheDarkCow11 yes they did a parody of "Schism." But before that they played "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck, a very talented and loved big band/jazz era musician. Which shows just how cultured musically Mac really is. But good job on spotting the TOOL cover .
This is BY FAR, THE coolest performance EVER. So much respect. Not even meaning the performance itself as in head banging and all that awesome stuff, but the fact that they used dream pop, rock, metal, jazz and more all in ONE smoothly executed song. All while reminding me of The Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, and others plus even hints electric blues rock stuff at some points. VERY underrated performance and musician. This man invented a whole fucking genre no doubt, check out Yellow Days too he totally digs and was influenced by Mac's woozy guitar sounds
this is still, in my opinion, one of the greatest live performances of a song. the crowd are shite, but that doesn't affect mac and the bands stage presence. and the interlude with 3 other tunes is stage genius
Everyone is complaining but like, if I were there I'd rather be paying attention to this weird but amazing performance instead of... dancing. It's not only a bit cliche but dancing wouldn't make it better for me lol.
inteljumperxx just to simplify its that black thing on macs guitar, it’s called a capo, it changes the key and overall tune of the guitar to make it higher
Duuuude this is fucking stellar! Those what seem like impromptu covers out of nowhere, and just the energy man the fucking energy of this performance is rad! If I was in that crowd I would be jumping around having a fucking blast, and sometimes I get concert anxiety, but maan with a performance like this how can you not get hyped as FUCK?!

Mac and the boys: 🥳🎸🤟🏼🤠😩
The crowd: 🙂👍🏻
XD
A disgrace!
so much chemistry. love andy and jon to pieces but this is probably the best lineup the band's ever had. also mac's greatest hair phase
just made a similar comment on a different video of them. the OGs. they sound great together. real chemistry for sure.
The '2' era will always be my favorite, love that flow

Definitely Not Dingse! damn hobbit
Damn, Mac really was at his peak in this era.
he looks so different now its so odd
Mac DeMarco, one of the only guys to just suddenly pop into and out of a jazz standard. Who is this guy.
This is some Zappa level shit... like, a noise solo and then a cover of Dave Brubeck's Take 5 randomly in the middle of all this? I love it.
Don't forget the Tool cover
I love Mac Demarcos music but Zappa is way way more complex.
Lmao
duggie25 lmao what?
duggie25 don’t know if I agree but you made me laugh so take my upvote
"She's Really All I Need", also known as "Mac's Headbanging Song", "Pete and Pierce Shred Angrily", and "Random Cover Song"
Lmao they covered tool
i love how you came a year later and wrote a totally different comment, and also the harambe picture may he rip in peace smh. And by the way, nice channel lol
Schism XD

Holy shit this version is really good

They be actually collaborated
Mac birthed a lot of bands, met him once pretty cool dude
WHEN THEY WENT INTO TAKE 5 MY SOUL ACTUALLY LEFT MY BODY THAT WAS UNNECESSARILY FANTASTIC
Probably Mac's best live lineup.
guess that the bassman is an allegory of happiness
mac breaking into take five was crazy
bless that pink hat..
this is still, in my opinion, one of the greatest live performances of a song. the crowd are shite, but that doesn't affect mac and the bands stage presence. and the interlude with 3 other tunes is stage genius
LOVIN THE FUCKING DAVE BRUBECK OUTTA NOWHERE
Ben aloo ohhh shit!
Best live thing he’s ever done
Best thing imo.
sick bass solo by pierce
So much better than the recorded version, a re-release of this would be so sick.
This is the Mac I fell in love with
This is one of my favorite Live Anythings ever
Schism!!! Hahah oh my god this is great, awesome performance
that take 5 cover is one of my favorite things ever
Lol, Mac playing Take Five is something that I badly wanted to hear and hadn't even knew it
So nice to see an audience actually listening to the songs.
Everyone is complaining but like, if I were there I'd rather be paying attention to this weird but amazing performance instead of... dancing. It's not only a bit cliche but dancing wouldn't make it better for me lol.
Did anyone catch them covering 'Take 5' by The Dave Brubeck Quartet when they were jamming 3:13?
William Van Dusen Who shat in your cornflakes mate
It was Joe
who doesnt xD
Audience don't even deserve to be there
I know i’m late as hell to reply but you’re so right - i would be going crazy
Let make context : this was in 2013, many people didn’t know who this guy with that weird guitar was.
They're just fucking chilling. Why does everyone think you need to go crazy to enjoy music. I would be there just as chill, and Im a huge fan
@@stefanodomeni just sound like youre a nerd then
rilend is that supposed to be an insult? What’s wrong with being a nerd?
1:12 Pierce just fucking loves the camera in all their performances. Hilarious.
+ParrotProduction lol that was cute as hell
yes . he's love camera. is funny bass :D
still blown away he didnt break a string
I come back to this video once a month, just makes me happy yenno. Good vibes
This song.. This man. Man of man do they both make me happy. Such a good place to come for a pick-me-up.
Mac Demarco change my opinion about playing guitar with capo
Steel Bar you mean he changed your mind or you want him to change your mind?
Me too
whats so bad about playing with capo?
What’s capo
inteljumperxx just to simplify its that black thing on macs guitar, it’s called a capo, it changes the key and overall tune of the guitar to make it higher
god to witness this live
Mac was studying in jazz guitar class if memory serves me well
I want this on DVD or CD. This is amazing.
i’m gonna cry this so beautiful
Jamming part reminds me of Pink Floyd's Interstellar Overdrive, definitely a good sign!
Set the controls for the heart of the sun
The heart of the sun
The heart of the sun
The heart of the sun
The heart of the sun
It’s taken me a while to find this, and I’m so glad I’ve found it.
I'd love to see more of this kind of Mac, since it's beautiful, and looks like he really enjoys himself.
He did lots of this carefree stuff back in the day. Seems like as he’s gotten older he’s chilled out.
One of my favorite shows. He rocks so hard. Such a good guitar player.
they muted the crowd i think
+Quincy Nguyen good
hubiera querido vivir ese concierto, es de lo mejor que nos ha dado este hombre
This was absolutely amaing!
Did they just covered Tool? OMG I love this guy
I love how he does it here instead of the slower version
Duuuude this is fucking stellar! Those what seem like impromptu covers out of nowhere, and just the energy man the fucking energy of this performance is rad! This is the motherfukin perfect live jam
They were so ahead of their time for 2014
Doesn't it start to sound like "the River" by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard at 3:13?
+Simon LaRoche oh thanks dude
i think hes covering take 5
Dude I realized that too lol
5/4 groove like the river;)
he's covering take five by Dave Brubeck
Never thought I'd hear a Dave Brubeck into Tool breakdown but here we are!
The bass lines are wonderful
1:07 the guitarist did mac's signature tongue thing and felt bad for it
pretty sure he played the wrong note or something but k funny joke yeezus god bless
the guitarist (pete) is really good, he just hit a wrong note there.
lol yeah I think he just hit a wrong note. but how stoned are you to have noticed that haha.
hahahahahaha
meeee
what do you mean THE GUITARIST
When that fucking take five suddenly slips in. This is why i love Mac.
lol yeah
… Hop out of bed at three
And I feel like I'm dying
But if she's there next to me
Then there's no use in crying
'Cause she's really all I need
It's true, my heart is flying
Life can be such a breeze
As long as it's just her and me
… Don't bring me down man
Wearing that frown man, now
It's trials from my brain
Step into my frame now
… I smell your arts degree
It's telling me I'm lazy
I'm working so I can eat
So keep that shit away from me
'Cause she's really all I need
And up until I'm dying
Life will be such a breeze
As long as it's just her and me
… Don't bring me down man
Wearing that frown man, now
It's trials from my brain
Step into my frame now
… Don't bring me down man
Wearing that frown man, now

Love the Take Five breakdown 😂 Right in Schism. Next level shit right here.
lmfao i cant tell if theyre messing up or not but yes good
Demarco, Brubeck, Tool? Sure enough, all of these pieces do indeed fit.
what the fuck why isnt the crowd going crazy
sometimes the collectice crowd vibe just isn't there. It happens. Also people enjoy music different ways. I used to go crazy when I was younger, in all the hardcore shows, in all the rock n roll shows. Now I just like to sit back, sip beer and take it all in.
i fucking loveeeeeeeee the tribute about takefive in 3:10
I LOVE YOU MAC :c
HGTV presents mac demarco
I would never expect Mac DeMarco to be playing Schism
Does anyone know what chord he plays at 2:24 ?
I miss this band mac demarco had
04:27 Schism, dude, they earned heaven.
Mac’s guitar solo at 2:25 is so Kurt cobain-y it’s awesome
i love how they went into take 5
original lineup :')
Miss em :')
What happened with them?
Tomás Ruiz Pete (guitarist) left to focus on his solo project - Homeshake. As for the bassist, I’m not sure
someone know what happened with the bassist? :c
listening to this bout to passout untill i hear Tool... im like whuuuuuut. Mac and his band just divided by zero. FUCK YES
Suddenly Tool?!
Ok wasn't expecting that one. Oh Mac and Co, you sure do know how to keep people on their toes.
4:27 OMG

EPIC !!!
Sonic Youth without effects, love it
Love the little nod to Take Five by Dave Brubeck.
That was no nod, that was a full on bloody headbutt to take five, and I loved it as well!
The solo part was godly
can't but to put a smile on my face abd laugh
Nice performance
