Hey big fan of your videos here. Long story short, I had a oil pressure problem this summer with my N43B20A. Guess what, the oil pump was dead. The cost of a new oil pump for this engine is SO ABSURD HOLY S*** BMW are you serious?! (~1200€) So I decided to buy a used one from Lituania for 200€. It was kinda like a hit or miss at this point without any guarantee that the new used oil pump wasnt dead inside too. Believe me or not, I can daily drive my car again thanks to this used oil pump and no more oil pressure problem. That was the best 200€ spend in my entire life. :)
I'm so glad that the RUclips algorithm finally recommended a cool channel with exciting videos. Your videos are so interesting + the video editing which makes every video even better. Keep up the good work and keep going. 👍🏻
It's like those guys at the repair shop have claws instead of hands, they left the engine in a really bad state. Great content btw, keep up the good work, really enjoy your videos. Greetings from Serbia
Great video! I have to say I always prefer when a car gets to keep its original engine, so thumbs up for rebuilding it instead of just getting a different engine.
Ah! So my boy only does beemers. He pulls engines out of these things like some of us change knickers.... Hat is off to you, mate! Pleasure seeing you work!
Vilket arbete du gör! Jag är otroligt imponerad 👌Jag fixade en del med bilar i början på åttiotalet men det var betydligt enklare konsturktioner på den tiden. Ser fram emot resten av ditt arbete.
This is the reason why i fix my own cars. Good mechanics or shops are a rare species. I hope we can see more video from you, i like your videos already
Greeting from UK 🇬🇧 It’s a pleasure to watch your videos, I hope your channel will get more exposure soon, your content is great, the way you work and the quality of your videos are also great. In one of your videos, I would love to hear your story, how your passion started, it looks like you have a nice garage there and generally speaking more about yourself. I can picture you in a 15min video where you talk about yourself, your passion, your goals, next to a table full of pistons and valves and a crankshaft (of course all from a bmw 😃) Your audience will definitely appreciate that. Thank you for everything you do and for your great work. Florin
Wow, thanks man, I really appreciate it, i feel like the channel is still a bit too small for people to care about my story, but i don’t know, maybe that would be a good idea😊🤞
Loved the video man, so nice to see someone my age doing the same thing i am currently doing on my E46 330xd. Glad i found this channel looking forward to an update on this aswell as other new projects.
always fascinated with people working these complicated jobs on bmw’s without a lift, lifting any other car is super easy but finding it hard to find points to lift the car. Where do you lift? (not lifting points of course because jackstands will be there), front and rear?
@@EMSGARAGEE61 Sounds reasonable, would be cool in the videos to see how you determine this as help! finding this at the rear is normally very easy but i find it harder at the front
I really wish BMW would get this connecting rod bearing nonsense figured out. In this day and age, rod bearings failing as quickly and as often as BMWs do is just inexcusable. The oil pump thing sounds like the VW/Audi belt drive 2.0 FSI. The pump/balance shaft cartridge fails and the part is $2500 USD. A lot of people retrofit the old 1.8T pump. It’s the same engine family and the 1.8 pump is like $200. Definitely go with the 1.6 pump.
Yup sounds similar. That’s the plan, I think the one of the reasons original pump is so expensive is because it is sold together with the balancing shafts.
Thanks for making this awesome video. Just bought e91 with N46B20 engine with fluids mixed, you gave me courage that everybody can work with these engines and cars, surely not as fast as you tho. Next week i'll start pulling the engine and rebuilding it. PS your videos should have A LOT more views they have rn. Thanks for inspiring!
You remind me more and more of M539 restorations with your endless new projects😂 hopefully you get big like he did at least your content is great and deserves more attention!
Hei. I live in Norway and I’m looking for an E46 or E90 project car. But even the crappiest cars on the market cost 5-10 times as much here as in the UK or in the US! It’s hopeless to fix up anything for a profit in this country…
Was the price too good ? As a car lover i get tempted to buy cars, general rule is ,if youre buying one , scan it and be thorugh, drive it , push it , if all good , buy
Is there a certain Year range you would avoid buying a Diesel?? From what I've watched nothing puts you off taking a gamble on something cheap! Great content by the way.
good job man! but many job for this motor, i don't know if an 2nd hand motor from ebay, its will be a good idea..can found 1 for 1500euros or 2000e. between your head gasket many parts you have to change i don't know... but e92 is the good choice, nice car.

is it possible to delete the balance shaft on this engine? i did this on my mx5 when i installed a 2.5L from a mazda6. Just had to block off one oil port to the balance shafts for proper oil pressure
@@tristan8243 yeah I read some people have done it, I don’t get it because the 1.6 doesn’t have the balancing shafts, and 2.0 has them, and the only difference between them is 2 mm in the cylinder bore and 14mm in piston stroke else are they exactly same engines😃

If i was the new buyer, (which i clearly won't be) I wouldn't be happy to know that my engine just got put together with the very minimum of parts, to get it running and get it sold..
Do some googling, you will see that the pumps are exactly the same internally, and are produced at the same factory, the only difference between them is the balancing shafts.
