don't think so. wolf has more accomplishments under his belt. Keria doesn't have enough experience yet. As of now he might/ be the best support this year though I think beryl is best in history. Had they held MSI in 2020, he will also have an msi champion with 2 worlds. I do think that T1 will win worlds tho. @@gusti14

This play is not only good cuz he caught ruler, its the fact that jdg are forced to fight the 4v5 cuz of that amazing shurima shuffle blocking their exit path 😭

This play is not only good because it won the game, it also won the series. You can tell how demoralised JDG were from losing this game to ONE single play. Game 4 was a lost cause before Game 4 started.
Imagine that battle scene T1 pushing in and JDG's only way out is blocked by the man himself
Yeah they won 2 Worlds and this one really caught off his guard since he now retires and faker is still able to pull this insane out of this world game changing plays on live stage.

Can't say I'm a T1 (a DK fan here), but I didn't think T1 would lose. I've been rooting for them though ever since DK and Geng got knocked out(they always do poorly internationally).

JDG is not the kind of team to lose with baron and a gold lead, what Faker did was insane, the follow up from Oner was amazing and if Gumayusi hadn't stop watched in the perfect moment they wouldn't have been able to end the game right there.
All of T1 is playing out of their minds, this series felt like the real finals.

The only person that mattered on their team....
He didn't just catch the enemy adc. JDG has a poke comp with taliyah ashe + lethality varus. Faker forces the engage, picks varus and then puts azir tower behind them so they literally cannot leave. If they walk up the lane they die to tower and Azir behind them. If they walk to the left they die to Aatrox pincer and Azir. It was a checkmate move putting the tower in that position.
oners follow up is actually insane too tho
They had a single mind this series, the dragon play was maybe the greatest team play ever, and it's not an overstatement, watch on 0.25x, Oner gets a little back, Faker is already on the blue getting ready, when Oner flashes and start using his skills Faker instantly responds and by the time Rell lands he is already pushing people with his ult, most people have a hell of a tough time coordinating their own flash to make the plays, Faker coordinated his own skills with Oner instant flash faster than most junglers could do the insec alone, this cannot be communicated, it's a split second action that requires deep knowledge of how both champions work and what possible Oner could do from that position, genius play from Oner, but haunting precision and reaction time from Faker.
If you listen to T1's comms before this play Faker is shotcalling the entire situation. He says to his team:
"I'll go in first"
"I'm looking for an angle"
"I'm waiting for an angle"
"I'm going in! come! come!"
and his entire team follows. T1 has said just how pivotal Faker is for this roster. He is the rock that pulls everyone together when they are feeling uncertain or nervous.
He is the goat no doubt
Difference between Faker and the rest of the field is that regardless of the results, Faker will continue to try to make the play.
He has failed to deliver and thrown games away, but more often or not Faker will make that one play to win the game because he has tried and done it time and time again.
Not to belittle other mid laners, but Knight, Chovy or any other midlaners who are considered better than Faker would not have gone for that play and probably would have lost to JDG slowly.
Faker is the undisputed goat for a reason. Long live the KING.
There is a huge difference between Faker and the others, and it's not really what you said. Rather, it's that Faker, like Jordan, always refuses to lose.
There are plenty of mid laners and players in general who will "try to make the play", but that doesn't actually mean you will try to win. Take GAM for instance. Or Harden. Even if you've basically given up on a game, it's actually easier to try to make the play cause you have nothing to lose.
It's only the GOAT that tries to find that one avenue back in the game, sometimes that's making a play, sometimes it's being unnervingly patient until the opponent makes a crucial mistake.
Nobody really thinks any of those is better than Faker, in recent years this aura of "greatest shotcaller", "glue to T1", "never give up" was created around him, when in reality it's as simples as Faker is the most gifted player to ever grace the rift, he is miles ahead mechanically than the second, he just chooses to play more passive champs for him team sake but every time he gets playmaking champions he gaps people left and right, including the so called "better than Faker", that only get called this because of the off seasons Faker had, that weren't even his fault but teamates fucking inting on T1 and dragging him down with them, 2017 he almost single-handedly won a Worlds with 4 dead weights. While all the "new Fakers" are always surrounded by absurdly talented rosters when they try to claim the title of best midlaner. You could put every other midlaner in their absolute prime to play for T1 on this last LCK, none would be able to even get 50% of the wins they did with old man back half recovered, that is just the sizer of the gap there is between Faker and any other player.

6 years ago, Ruler as Varus flash ulted on Faker as Karma to win the game 5 team fight as SSG defeated T1 to win worlds. You know Faker and Ruler have fought plenty times since, but you gotta think this felt extra sweet for Faker on this stage.
Wrong. It was Game 3. They got 0-3'd in that 2017 finals. I wouldn't say it's unfair because T1 did beat SSG in a close 2016 finals. Revenge on both sides.

They just forgot he plays other 58 champions, very naive to try and ban Faker, they should have conceded Azir and tried to setup TheShy with the counterpick, even though it doesn't matter, Zeus gapped him vs Aatrox, and the gapped him using Aatrox for good measure.
Weirdest finals decision making I've ever seen. They perma targeted Faker which is understandable in a way because he was popping off hard this Worlds but then they kept forcing their top laner - their best player - to blind pick vs Zeus who was the best performing top at Worlds. I'm a T1 fan but when I was watching the draft and the pick order I was so confused by Weibo. Why play and draft around your top laner the entire tournament but then in the finals you force him to blind pick and don't try to target Zeus in bans?

Everyone talking and talking about this play, but Ruler could have just flasher over the Azir soldiers no ? He messed up his flash, no more, no less.

Faker predicted the flash so he flash to bait ruler’s flash and then ulted to mess with the timing. You’re trying to take the credit away from his play. You’re claim is just as good as “why didn’t he just dodge better?” Like yeah, if everyone dodged better they could never get hit but that’s not how it works.

@@kokorochin01 Ok if you slow it down, you can see faker went in and autos Ruler with a soldier doing damage, he then preemptively flashes knowing that ruler will flash away from taking the damage and gaining distance away from not getting ulted. What Ruler didn’t expect was for faker to flash first and immediately ult causing his flash to be useless. Ruler didn’t know faker would flash as well. Even if he had enough time to react to the flash, he didn’t have enough time to process if he should’ve flashed. Either way Faker got him to panic and there was no way for ruler to be able to play that better. He wouldn’t be able to flash the ult either unless he knew what faker was planning to do and have scripts running, which he didn’t. The only way he could’ve flashed to avoid the ult would’ve been to flash into the jungle where AAtrox was and die anyway.

I was really rooting for SKT. But luck also had a big part in this. Ruler misplayed the flash/ or Faker knew exactly in what angle to ult so Ruler's flash would place him in front the object of the tower ruins and not behind. I've seen pros not able to flash Azir ult, it is hard to flash, but come on Ruler... big misplay there. Or he could have hold flash, cleanse the Rell, than flash. Even better to ult the Azir dash preemptively.
Idk why you are disowning the skill rn, that azir shuffle was perfect ruler couldnt flash nowhere and on your 2nd scenario what should he have done he would've died anyways. Watch it again

0:06, now tell me how he should have flashed, Faker played a mind game for the exact reason: to make Ruler either flash or stay to be dead. It was an undodgiable R because Ruler's team was scattered.
in a team fight it is rare for azir to push the ult away from his team. Ult's like these are to deny or trying to survive. Just like how Scout ulted away infront of the tower against Oner and Faker. In a team fight, azir's ult towards his own team to focus and kill. So if Faker was going to ult anyone, it was to pull them into the range of his team to focus and kill instantly. That is what he did. So the ult had no other angle then to ult towards the team so it is impossible for varus to be behind the first tower.
Even if he holds his flash, cleanse rell and flash away to the bushes in the blueside jungle, Azir's ult has insane damage. Especially since Azir is reasonably fed at this point. So as a squishy varus that didn't build any survivability items, the damage alone is enough to put him out of commission. So let's say that in a slight chance Ruler survives. Does that mean the teamfight is won? The positioning of his other teammates were inside the first and second towers of T1 so the fight would have opened up anyway in big favor of T1. Maybe the game might have not ended there but it would have been a huge T1 lead afterwards.
So the only way this fight would have been in favor of Ruler is if he had *Predicted* what faker was gonna do, held his flash and skipped roped Azir's flash ult OR just held flash and took a few steps into the Blueside team, like what faker did with Scout's azir ult in the herald's riverside during T1 vs LNG, and then flashed away to the blue side jungle where Taliyah was (but even then fully fed Aatrox Zeus was there killing everything inside). But.. come on.. seriously?
Side note: Every analysts in LCK at the moment says that Ruler did nothing wrong. Just Faker did better.
