Bodkins are a type of bolt/arrowhead with an acute point that were intended to better pierce armor, at the expense of not having a wider cutting edge like a broadhead would for causing more damage and opening a larger wound. For bodkins, being able to pierce the enemy to begin with was enough. Small side note, but puncture wounds, while often being fatal if deep enough in a number of places, are actually usually not debilitating - an enemy you stab with a knife in the chest would still be able to fight pretty well if they can push through the pain, but they'd likely die later if you hit vitals just because deep wounds were difficult to treat back then. Slashes and blunt force injuries are more debilitating and impairs an enemy's ability to fight, but depending on location were usually not as lethal as a puncture wound. You could slaah a dude across the face and he'd for sure be impaired in his ability to fight, but if nothing got through the bone into the brain, he'd quite possibly be able to survive, albeit with a nasty scar. Just some neat stuff I learned here and there over the years learning about medieval history and HEMA (historical European martial arts) stuff.
Like the shields, you can also imbue the wrist daggers with the same hand you hold them in. The most fun I’ve had in this game was running around at mach 12 with permanent fire daggers stabbing through armor and climbing up stone walls.
fun fact: the loop on the nobles dagger is actually so that anyone sliding the blade down to cut at your fingers can't think a crossguard but on three sides
they're rank 0 because you can't own them. The pouch is listed as rank 2 which is what the knives secretly are. They're also kinda op because the only other weapons to self-imbue are shields and the wrist blade, and on top of that you get 8 of them...
Idk, but do streamers of this game not typically know that you have a WAY BETTER experience with throwing knives/daggers if you actually grab them by the blade first? It's one of the first things you learn if you try to throw those bad boiz irl.
i dont know if you know this but there is a skill that lets you throw round shields like captain america. it will bounce back to you. thats why they were bouncing so much
being able to imbue shields with the hand you're holding them in is genius, you can imbue the shield without having to put away your other weapon to do it
the fire spewing off the tips of the blades is from one of the skills in the fire tree called (molten arc?) its basically spreads fire off the blade when you swing it
tbh some of the two-handed weapons seem way too short. Handles being 1/3 of the total length feels a bit off. Might just be a perspective thing. But even spears and the halberd look a bit on the short side?
imo you should try the finger test with like the rapier or a dagger instead of just your finger to see if the weapon can actually be used to catch incoming attacks

The one with the big circle in the hand guard? If so, there are imbue spots under the massive grey crystals and if you imbue them correctly you can get the sword. Oh and you can spawn it with the debug menu

The Throwing daggers is one of the only weapon you can imbue with the hand holding the dagger by pressing trigger when magic is selected :)
