Sweet bloody biscuits! They are animals! They aren’t endangered. It’s traditional. It’s an important source of food. People hunt, kill, and eat animals. Deal with it.
Thank you for the kind words :) I believe I have acquired an audience that is too mixed - so it is hard to make a video that appeals to all my subscribers.
Not good, these mammals help climate change each one counts, the meat contain pcb and mercury, it seems cruel to me just like any other type of animal killed. go vegan much better for all.

Epic adventure and as always I love the way you share the beauty and culture here. We are so trying to get to this quality with ours before our RTW drive. We are checking in with our friends here to let you know about our name change and upcoming RTW drive in a solar SUV. Being anthropologists, we love to watch people have new experiences in new places, especially those who promote culture and nature. Keep up the fun and we look forward to sharing in your journey, as we hope you are enjoying ours. Thanks for the support. - Turtle and Bea
🤷🏼♂️ Pretty garish, but if they're eating what they kill, I can't act superior about it. God knows how many tons of meat go to absolute waste in my country.
This is a good video, but you left out a certain aspect to everything. The pilot whale meat is tainted with mercury, and not fit to eat. The leading doctor on the islands has said women of child-bearing age should not eat any of it, especially if they are trying to conceive. There are recommendations that men should not eat too much either, due to the many harmful contaminants in the meat. Whaling, and eating of the meat that was clean for consumption probably ended 100 years ago. Too many pollutants that we, as a human species did to the environment have now poisoned a much needed and good food source for them. I have no issues with their methods, they are as humane as slaughter can be.
Very interesting point about the beaching of whales to be legally hunted. Sustainability is of paramount importance!
Excellent video :)
Good video, but it would be nice if you talked about the history of the Faroe Islands from the beginning, keep up the good work bro

That’s one way to look at it, but whales are probably more intelligent than we give them credit for so I don’t think it’s that trivial.
@@GeoPerspective So are pigs, cows, horses and cats. Also, intelligence and cuteness do not enter the equation.
Hi I'm faroese🇫🇴

Amazing culture. Look forward to visit the islands

Why is this even a controversy... Everyone knows the extremist environmentalists who oppose traditional hunting practices like this are hypocrites.
I don’t think it’s a controversy but some people are just never going to be willing to accept it.
@@GeoPerspective They are called vegans.

I’m very curious to hear what my audience thinks overall since you bunch should be somewhat unbiased on the matter.

Anyone that eats meat cannot complain because these people have the balls to catch themselves and not outsource the killing
I agree with Geo Perspective. The whale hunt is abominable but so are modern animal husbandry practices. We should all do better.
Everyone can participate. The ones with the permit can stab the whales with the spain spear. Other than that everyone can enter
I love that whale meat
I want to try
580000 not 100000
