Texa was obvious no fool. He would have done well as a senator. But even then MONEY was the main factor. He grew up in a town in East Texas about fifty miles from where I did, but farming not ranching prevailed in this wooded area. Driving through Northern Mississippi the other day I was surprised how much alike that country and east Texas so resemble each other.
I had a friend who was a theater manager in Ashland. Kentucky in the late Forties and early Fifties. Quite often, Tex Ritter would stop by for a visit and meet his fans.He did a lot of touring during and after his film career. He also hosted the syndicated cowntry western TV show, Town Hall Dance Party.
When I was a kid, we would got to the Theater quite often on Saturday afternoon and Liked him as a cowboy and singer, Blood on the saddle was my favorite. I never saw him to much on TV.
Though I am not from America (from india) and have only seen Mr Ritter on RUclips, I must say that besides being a true and thorough Southern gentlemen, he embodies the mainland culture of usa and I feel he looks, talks and behaves like an original American..I always considered the culture of usa as the one portrayed in old western movies, country and folk music. ..it may sound very stupid but that's what I think..
My grandson is a real replica of his father in looks. Becsuse his conception was assisted by IVF my sister told my daughter to get a DNA test after he was born. Really it wasnt necessary. I just had to smile st yr comment.
While John Ritter favors his father Tex , his interior features, such as the eyes , nose and mouth area are from his mother Miss Dorothy Fay . the mark of handsome men .
Just a plain speaking humble man. As a boy I watched his movies on TV in Southern Ca. Wish we had more him today.
Great to see where the greatest actor of the 70's got His witty charm. John certainly resemles His mold. Thanks for sharing.

Wow interesting.
I love his singing voice particularly in his younger days-very virile and unique. He sounds very intelligent in this interview.
Tex was one of my favborite cowboys when I was young. I liked all his movies.
Dennis Pennington we both must be babyboomers. I love rex, gunsmoke watched it with my grandpa. those were the days god bless you and your loved ones
I grew up on that stuff. Tex, The Range Rider, etc.
When I was a kid, we would got to the Theater quite often on Saturday afternoon and Liked him as a cowboy and singer, Blood on the saddle was my favorite. I never saw him to much on TV.
He is marvelous why can’t we have more another time of our world
Humble guy. John Ritter's dad.

Probably a bit more diverse than that but your observations were quite accurate for many parts of the USA.
He's a Texan
I guess we’ll never have Men like Tex again. Just calm, collected and pleasant.
What a well spoken gentleman. John Ritter was lucky to have such a pedigree.
John Ritter's dad. Wow ❤
I loved Tex Ritter. He was born in Panola county in East Texas. A very lovely part of the greatest state in these great United States.
How can you be from Texas AND be from the greatest state in the union?
@@felixmadison5736 Who said I was from Texas?
@@tooterooterville I was referring to Tex Ritter.
Correction: Tex Ritter ran for U.S. Senator from Tennessee in 1970 and was beaten by Bill Brock who went on to beat the incumbent, Albert Gore Sr.
Great man. Too bad we don't have too many of these guys living today.
One thing is certain. John Ritter would never need a DNA test.
Neither would Jason.
I don't see the resemblance. He looks more like his mother

@@jessiejames7492 it's unusual. In general, sons tend to look like their mothers.
@@MeadeSkeltonMusic John has the round face like Tex, but I agree; he definitely has his mom's facial expressions and looks.
Just read that Tex was Otis Blackwell's favorite singer and a big influence to him.
"Boll Weevil" Tex does that real, real fine !
"Yeah, it was dark complected fella with a pair of blue duckin's on!"
he does look like his son
John Ritter
Tex's Horse White Flash wasnt alway housebroken....He left some meadow muffins on theater aisle carpets a few times.
Actually it was the US Senate he ran for, in 1970.
John looks like Tex,not Tex looks like John.
I always love this Artist thanks for posting. Im from Ireland and not familiar with American Politics what year is this ...
An attorney Tex was.
Elsa Lanchester and Alain Delon on the show as well.
Tex!
Damn, Tex must have been an old man when John was born!
And Tex probably died when he became a grandpa.
@@dannythomas417 If he lived that long!
Virginia is the mother of Texas
How do you figure? Crockett was from Tennessee. Willam Barrett Travis from South Carolina. And, Jim Bowie was from Kentucky.
@@tooterooterville Sam Houston settled Texas. He was from the Shenandoah valley of Virginia. A large swath of Virginians settled Texas.
I'm related to this man. Strange.
So was Redd Foxx. Now THAT is strange!
Very interesting & funny interview with tex Ritter on dick cavett's show.
john ritter was born when tex was 43.
My dad was almost 45 when I was born in 1979
While John Ritter favors his father Tex , his interior features, such as the eyes , nose and mouth area are from his mother Miss Dorothy Fay . the mark of handsome men .
John Ritter looks almost nothing like his dad
I think John only got the round face he got from Tex. Everything else; he got from his mom Dorothy.
Oh Mithter Gore was runnin'.
Big Al!
I think he was a member of the Gran ole Opry star?
Tex was a Republican...
Good
I could never understand why any sensible interested person would allow them
intelligent man.. He didnt have much of a texan accent.
I was in Dallas a couple of years ago.I didn’t notice any Texas accents
Speak for yourself haha!
It varies across the state but Tex is clearly from East Texas.
Yes, he does. This is east Texas, which is a continuation of the Gulf Coastal plain. LOTS of first land. He would have grown cotton I imagine.
