- We all have our secrets. Maybe for you, it's your high school diary, or for others, non-patented multi-million dollar business plans. Perhaps some are storing naughty photos relating to their past sexually-charged Snapchat endeavors. Regardless, everyone has a right to privacy, right?
Today, when much of our life and the information around us is pre-translated in zeros and ones, it is important to understand how to hide information from prying eyes - from a hacker, or from your grandmother, who frequents your laptop to chat on Facebook with her local biddy clique.
In today's video, we will teach how to hide your digital secrets.

This channel has extremely good quality videos and yet I can not catch any of the information cause Bradley is sitting there being ridiculously charismatic and captivating.
@Ari GSD Second the notion
ikr lmao
Right???
@Ari GSD He needs longer trousers.
Huge Tip: Be overly paranoid about malware. If you really care about your info, be sure not even let out misclicks.
Or you could just dual boot into something like linux to run potentially malicious programs in wine, that way they'll be sandboxed, and unable to transmit any information due to the unusual nature of the file structure, even if they do manage to break out of containment.
Tesco meal-deal and an hour lunch break, a man of culture I see.
It's all about the Sainsbury's or Gregg's meal deal mate

I bet Bradley eats his meal deal outdoors. Tesco-Alfresco!
Bradley, what do you do to get access to so many beautiful places to film? Do you have someone working in the showbiz or something similar?
same thing in my mind lol
Same I was just say this to my mom like who the h*** dose he got those places
We've got some talented studio scouts in our city :)
That's his fancy home, he is just rich and bored so he is making youtube videos ;-)
@@Sumsubcom oh cool. I always wondered how, or where you find those places 😅
I would love to see a second part of this video but centered on the smartphones. True, much of our data is on the PC's, but I think most of the things that we (the security enthusiast) need to protect are on those devices.
Either way, i'll like to say that I love all of this channel videos, all the way down in Colombia.

I've been following this channel since pretty early on, and I am so glad for it! The content is incredible every time, and I feel like the production quality is just outstanding. Keep up the good work!
Hey there person with same name!
The disclaimer around the end of the video really made me realize how some of your videos sometimes sound like tutorials for being a successful cyber criminal
Bradley: how to encrypt your files
Me who just buys a new harddrive everytime i use my computer: I am several parallel universes ahead of you
"I really need to rethink my targeted audience" 😂😂
According to some law Professor on the internet , “the first thing you’ll learn in law school is that you always have something to hide from the police.” As well as from other people, so stay clean and take your digital security seriously.
Always a gem of a video with most useful information. Not garbage and filler, just pure quality. This channel deserves more views!
Hidden folder on a virtual machine, located on an old SnapShot.
Best tip: Create an encrypted (and maybe even hidden) partition or file vault using Veracrypt. But this might be over kill in some cases.
no I 100% agree
this guy needs more attention. amazing content. 6 stars out of 5
This is, by far, the best Cybersecurity channel on YT
Yeah I don't want them found out my homework folder...
Me too 😌
Yeah, they'll find out all about your D 😏
Wow the production quality is getting better every new video
Did I miss it, or did you forget to tell us how the encrypted container works? I mean, is there a specific program for this process you recommend? Great video as always btw :D
Yes, I was looking for it too, sounds like an excellent thing to look into but have no idea where you would start to look into it.
I think Veracrypt is the most recommended one.
Personally, I use it to encrypt an external HDD. This is enough to be thief-proof, because when you connect it windows doesn't recognize it and warns you that the disk needs to be formatted (and normally you hit cancel and use Veracrypt to access it), but you can tell thieves that disk is broken, and even connect it to show them that warning, and probably they'll believe you and leave it there. But even if they take that disk, most likely they don't even dream they have your sensitive stuff, and they'll just format it.
So you can still lose your stuff, but maybe that's the better outcome if it gets stolen.
My preference for using an external drive, is that there's a chance that thieves don't take it if they believe the disk is broken. The computer has a high chance of being taken, so an encrypted volume in your computer is at a higher risk (although they still won't see your stuff, most likely).
idk how this channel doesnt have like 1m subs, this videos have such a good quality.
As an Indian myself, We can assure you that "Raj" isn't much trustful afterall ... 😂

I laughed so hard at the Rick Roll. I was NOT expecting that. Love the high quality content + sense of humor in these fantastic videos!

love this channel. great job as always
Fantastic video as always!
I love how your videos always lead me down a rabbit hole learing about the topic
Me too.
I have realized that many things are "leaked" by our emotional behavior on it. I mean, we over-share (social media comes into my mind) because of some strong emotion that doesn't allow us to step back and say: "ok, this pic/status wouldn't be convenient for me to share." It could be loneliness, sadness or just plain boredom (the usual).
Just a thought...
Amongst all of the praise for location scouts (deservedly so), here's a comment in appreciation of Bradley's hair
thank you for your vids. love the channel!!
Words and similar applications will do autosaves incase of power outages/etc as well so its important to hide those as well if they're important

Hi Bradley i have a question.
How safe are the folder locker apps for PCs.
Does it add any protection?
How can we make sure the data on our pc is safe if we are connected to internet.
I have an old USB drive that I used to listen to music, cleared it fully, and then made my own steganography software, so when I need to encrypt or decrypt something I just plug it in and use it that way, leaves no trace and no trusting online programs.
Btw, sumsub, i wonder, could you possibly make a video about apps like discord ?
The sets are as always immaculate.
Would you like a lawyer?
No, i want bradley 😎
I offer my legal services for 13 dogecoin an hour. No other forms of payment accepted.

Well, I have a solution for selling computer online - take out the original hard drive and place a new one inside, install clean Windows in it (or just sell it without any OS for a lower price, where the buyer will install OS of his own choice), and original hard drive can be repurposed for an external hard drive :)
If you properly format the disk then any previous data will be unrecoverable
I'm actually sending my phone for service tomorrow and it doesn't even have a lock screen password!
I thought it would be a hassle to back it up and wipe it and then I'll have to reinstall all the apps again and sign in again and all that stuff, so I just keep it as is.
I'll add app lock to all apps tho, and will keep only Settings open incase the need to test something.

Just some trace of watching this video in your logs will mean that you have something to hide and anyone looking for dirt will be extra cautious now. Omae wa mou shinderu mates.
If your channel was a stock i would have invested in it.
Ok. Now we know how to secure data. But what type of data should the average person secure and back up? In case of complete data loss, house fire, ransomware attack. What digital data is needed to get your life back up an running?
Stuff like a backup password vault, photocopy of passport and id cards are obvious. But what about emails from insurance? What should we also keep an eye out for just to make things easier during the worst time of our life.
Would love a video on that.
Well, the short answer is, nothing is worth backing up. All important documents telling of your identity are physical ones, and for a very good reason to - so that we're not forced to all be tech-savvy.
For me, I'd back up copies of invoices, templates, my company's tax reports, just things that you'd probably lose or forget about in real life. Thanks for the support!
@@Sumsubcom That is one way to look at it but other people have different threat models. My physical files have been damaged before, most banks have safety deposit boxes you can throw a cd/ usb/ encrypted harddrive into, I dont have the same secure space to have multiple file folders worth of paper copies to lean of if something goes wrong.
For people like my army buddy who didn't have family to hold his filing cabinet while deployed and had to put all his stuff into a storage rental, or the young adults who don't have the money or a space for a home office with a printer and locking fire proof filing cabinet. Or those who end up getting a flood in there basement or storage closet destroying all those physical records. Having a digital, encrypted copy of some documents and cards in a different location helps you from struggling to recover.
Could you please make a video about password and password manager.
Lol i have forgotten so many passwords on encrypted files that i would be spending years in jail....
Not first

Daaamn Bradley..where have you been the last couple of weeks??
good thing in Germany is: you can tell the police you know the password. but they can't do anything. you don't need to help to provide evidence against yourself
Doesn't Germany also make it so that escaping from prison can't be punished since the desire to be free is a basic human need or something?
