It was his amateur debut. A lot of people expect beginners to be as good as fighters in the UFC. It doesn't work that way. I know he trains when he can, and overtime those gaps in his game will be corrected.
He or his corner verbally told the referee to stop the fight . Equivalent of throwing in the towel. They tried to stop one of my fights once and say I won by doctor stoppage after the doctor was called in as the guy was unconscious, got it corrected to a tko (submission via repeated strikes) which is better on your record if you're like me and we're a knockout artist. Verbal submission is usually done by your corner to spare you damage if they think you're fucked. But sometimes fighters verbally submit if they know there injury is serious, or if it's debilitating, or mostly they verbally submit because they are pussies. I'm guessing since this is amateur the guy got hit and it hurt a lot more than he thought it would, and it came from David's body kick. Hit him right in the liver or kidney and he felt it and said no sir. He shoulda got a tko by body kick if he woulda pressed his advantage when he was hurt, but he was playing it safe which was smart, don't wanna fuck up and get knocked out on your debut it would end your career before it started . My experience in saying all this is I ended my career at 4/0/0/0, all by knockout, all before the end of the 2nd round.

Because honestly...That armbar made...No sense, because even if you was shown the move once and drilled it, you would get the jist of the fact you need to at least control the arm. Its just perplexing tbf because fresh students at the academy understand an armbar set up...If they pull it off is another matter entirely.
To be fair theres no real chance for armbars or ground take downs in the streets. If you touched the ground you were either unconscious or dead, Im assuming the ground isnt somewhere he wanted to be familiar with.

And say it was a good fight. Because, of close to equal skill sets. We want blood! We want explosive professionally trained combinations of devastation. Please... train harder. And make the next fight more exciting. If there is ever even gonna be another one. I like your music though. And listen to it daily. Also, make more of that! 👊🏼😈🤚🏼
