I saw this on the 13th June 2015 and was absolutely blown away. The entire audience was completely captivated. Emotional moments contrasted fabulously with laugh out loud funny sections. I personally intend to see it again and 100% want to cast album!!
Absolutely brilliant in all aspects including superb casting & performances, original & creative choreography, clever & effective set design, glorious costumes and more. Special commendations must go to Gurinder's fabulous writing and to her West End history making Directorial debut. Also to Charles's intelligent yet streetwise, witty lyrics and Howard's wonderful songs and compositions (as always)! Full of catchy hooks and ear worms, but without the predictable formulas, Howard has managed to blend two genres and possibly create a completely new style of music. I can't wait for the Cast CD to become available. (If it is already can someone please let me know?) This production has all the necessary ingredients to appeal to all demographics and become a smash hit.
