Why Planet of the Apes is the Most Underrated Trilogy Ever Made

- Planet of the Apes is one of the Great Trilogies of all time, but why is it never referred to as such? Despite, yes, grossing over $1 billion over 3 movies and being critically acclaimed, they don't receive nearly enough love.

Only now this trilogy is getting recognition
Ikr, I've always thought this was one of the greatest trilogies ever made
I am gracious to be given the opportunity to edit this video, lend a hand in writing about the thesis-antithesis-synthesis trilogy structure and the religious and historical allegories with the Caesar character, as well as implementing various additional supportive material with the Matt Reeves interviews. This is my first time editing a 30+ minute video essay and the experience was like making an actual film!
I am eager to see this channel grow and transcend to enormous heights! 🤗

Definitely my favorite film trilogy
Completely agree. SUCH AN AMAZING TRILOGY
Honestly I didn’t expect Pente to do this but damn. This is fire🔥
Shrek did pretty good without being human. Probably because the main characters didn’t speak in sign language and a lot of people hate subtitles
I put this trilogy right up there with the greatest trilogies of all times
Legend my favourite movie of all time
This good vid I'll be a watcher of ur content for a long time
Great video! Keep up the great work.
Earned a sub, love the content
Feel like me and you could talk about this all day awesome video!
This needs more likes! I know this is “Star Wars channel” but planet of the apes is a great topic
This man is an author, a RUclipsr, and a role model.
2 and 3 never lived up to how solid the first was, however the effects are absolutely incredible in the second and third. They just never could create a good human story or a conflict as strong as the first movie. It reminds me of Spartacus Blood and Sand, where after they escaped their slavery, the story floundered trying to figure out what to do with the dynamics of the characters.
Hello Pente Patrol Cinema,
Have you seen "Kingdom" yet? It is amazing. Great storyline, top notch performances, the CGI & visuals are amazing. I count this as one of the best movies of the year & on par with the previous 3 films you are now discussing. 5 more movies are planned after "Kingdom"." So be prepared to go Ape!
🎉🎉🎉wonderful video.
Thank you
Great video. It's my favorite movie trilogy
Great trilogy, I watched them recently for the first time, and wow, amazing.
*AND KEEP IT UNDERRATED, THANKS*
Fun Fact about the Tim Burton 2001 movie with Mark. Apparently they took an aspect of the PotA source material from the original 1963 french novel in that, the planet of the Apes was actually a seperate planet. Not Earth itself. That twist was a 1968 film adaptation thing first. But back to TB 2001, the two planets were connected by the black whole that when flown through, took them to those planets, but at different points in time depending on when they left. The earlier you left on one planet, the later you would arrive at the other, and vise versa. The chimp at the beginning of the movie shows us this, where he was the first to leave but didn't arrive on the Ape planet until near the movies end. And the reason why Thade managed to conquer Earth like he did, was because he was the last to leave on his planet, and arrived all the earlier on Earth. So early, that Humanity either hadn't evolved yet, or had so few numbers that they could be wiped out with enough effort. Hence the ending. Not many people know this about the movie's ending, mostly because it definetly could be explained better.
Just stumbled across this video, just watched the trilogy this past weekend with my girl. 8.5-9/10 for me
Hope you make a video on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
I CAN'T understand why most people prefer the 2nd & 3rd films to RISE OF
it is the only one thats never too dark & end of the World, it also has many more contrasting story layers, & you sympathize with the characters much more, something else is that it follows a NEW story line - animal rights the morality of Animal testing, a new approach since the 1968 film, to the "franchise" not done before.
The new trilogy isnt actually a reboot, its a prequel
It was a prequel trilogy. There were many easter eggs even in the first movie Rise. Like the Icarus space mission.
Who would underrate this trilogy?
This mfer spittin'
You know its an under rated trilogy when you ask people whats the best trilogy ever and they say "Star Wars" "Raimis Spiderman" "The Dark Knight" "lord of the rings" and you respond with "What about the Ceaser Trilogy?" And they go "oh shiiiit yeah you right"
People just attach "underrated" to any media they think is high quality. The word has lost all meaning.
These films are not "underrated". The consensus is resoundingly positive and they did great in the box office. Like what the fuck 😂
Yeah, it is not an underrated trilogy because most people seem to enjoy the films.
People just say things are “underrated” because they don’t hear people constantly talking about it on social media at that moment. Then people constantly parrot the notion that whatever it is is “underrated” because they also like that thing and are being told that nobody knows about it (whether or not it’s true). Then everybody talks about it to the extent that it becomes beating a dead horse and everybody’s tired of hearing about it.
I like to think I speak English properly but those subs are waaaaay out of sync
It was the original script for the video before I restructured, cut down, and rewrote it. We were too lazy to rewrite it for the closed captions. There are parts of it that Mr. Pente actually genuinely synced up and I find it hilarious he went through the effort of doing so.
Godfather 3 was not a good movie so Godfather is not a solid trilogy because only 1 and 2 are stellar films.
It's not underated it's just not very good.😂
Why do you think it's not very good about it?
That is, one of the takes of all time.
Please don't cook... Like, ever again.
You lost me with the title
