So thrilled to see you back and posting cooking videos again Darlene! I’ve missed your happy and radiant personality so much! Welcome Back my Friend…your cookies look delicious! 👏❤️👍🏻😘
The cookies look great! Chilling dough especially in a hot kitchen, solidifies the butter so the cookies don't spread flat while baking. Your hair is very classy looking. Love it!
I had nutmeg to even savory recipes..just that thing that makes you go “🤔hmm what’s that??“Rachel Ray was the first person I had experience with that added it and she adds it to her macaroni & cheese..and dadgum it sure makes a difference!! So now I add it to several sweet and savory recipes! Thanks for this recipe Darlene..I’m going to make these with my granddaughter tomorrow and I’ll let you know..I’ll leave a comment here again..if I had to add the addtl egg white!
I’ve always enjoyed watching your videos. You’re so enthusiastic and knowing that you’re a Christian woman makes a big difference to me. I’ve missed you and I’m glad that I saw you this time. Thank you so much for coming back.
Good morning Ann👋🏼. I’m so happy you found this video. Welcome back! Thank you for your kind words. Lord bless, Darlene I just put out another video Monday night. Check it out when you can 😃
Oh Darlene i Love bird and hand bakery. These cookies sound scrumptious. My children will love these cookies. So i will be making them. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed evening and stay safe my dear and Special Friend. ❤❤❤ I saw you would like to know our favorite Bible verse. Mine is Isaiah 41:10. I have brought this with me as my verse when i went to the Hospital.
It is nice to see you in the kitchen again, Darlene! Those cookies look wonderful! But yes, I too, have to wait until I have a designated place for them to go…, altho will have to try 1 before giving the rest away! I made a slight change to your mantra last week at a bridal shower (I’ve had that before, I know what it tastes like and I choose not to eat it today) and I did not feel like I was depriving myself of dessert!!
Looking great, Darlene! When you mentioned something we'd never ever guess, I was thinking Mace since I never see it mentioned in modern recipes. Or cinnamon as a runner-up. Thanks for the video and sharing this recipe!
I just love your enthusiasm Darlene. I will remember to put some nutmeg in my American cookie mix. I still use the American cookie recipe I used when I was head of kitchen cook at an infant school. The children loved them and I still make them for my grandson today, but I'll try the nutmeg additive. Thank you Darlene
@@Souperat60 Hi Darlene. I'm sorry it's taken a couple of days to get back to you. Yes I am a subscriber, have been for a long while but always seem to be on catchup. I have enjoyed the tours of the houses and can't wait to see which one you choose, if any. American Cookie Recipe. 12oz Butter or Marg 6oz Caster Sugar 14oz Plain Flour ( AP ) 4oz Wholemeal Flour, optional, just add 4oz more AP 1/4 oz Baking Powder Vanilla Extract Cream Butter/Marg until fluffy and pale, blend in Flour, Baking Powder & Vanilla Extract. you can at this stage add as many chocolate chips as you would like. Mould into 20 balls, but I tend to make smaller ones for Phoenix ( my Grandson ) and make 40. I bake as many as he'd like to eat and take home and freeze the rest for another visit. There's no need to flatten the dough balls as they find their own level when baking, maybe roll them in your hands untill they ressemble fat flying saucers. Bake for 10-15 minutes on reg 5 gas, 200'c or 400'f or 170 fan. I hope you enjoy these cookies, we absolutely love them. Take Care Darlene, Hugs UK
Hi Darlene. So nice to see you back in the kitchen. You know, I will be making those cookies. I do have a confession ... I know you said 1 1/2 cups of the chocolate chunks ... I will do at least 2 cups. Can't have too much chocolate. My Dad is almost 95 years young (having a birthday next month). Chocolate chip cookies are his favorite. I make them for him and mail them to him. His next batch will be the recipe you shared. Thank you. Enjoy your visit with your family. God Bless. 💜🙏
Guess what I guessed it correctly 😊my mom used it alot in things , I love your hair cut you look much younger it's beautiful on you 😍 and wt, loss is fabulous,..glad to see you ❤️ thanks for recipe
Thank you, Darlene! I certainly will be giving this chocolate chip cookie recipe a try. Would be fun to do for a 4-H cookie judging class - see if the members can guess the 'secret' ingredient. Have a great day! 🌼
Just had you in my feed. Some 40 yrs ago, a friend asked me to go Christmas shopping at the new outlet stores near her. We stopped at a bakery in Bird in Hand, I bought 6 red velvet cupcakes, they were exactly like the cake my Aunt made me every birthday. I have yet to find a recipe that's the same, I'd love to see that cake if you have a recipe. I will try the cookie recipe, as of course, I have one that I think is the best. And nutmeg is one of my favorite spices in baking.
Love CCC! Going to try this plant-based as I have a family history of Cancer so need to avoid the estrogen and possible BLV in dairy and the lead and choline in eggs. Thanks for sharing
Yes.. she did say Tablespoons, but written recipe says Teaspoons.. so.. wasn't sure which was correct...I made video a full screen and looked at which spoon she used.. she used the Teaspoon

Thank you Susan. You’re a good friend🥰
Welcome back
I too use aluminum free ingredients! Also aluminum free deodorant and floride free toothpaste!
Nutmeg! My secret ingredient is instant pudding mix!
I assume it's 2 tsps. of cornstarch. Sounds like you said 2 Tbls. but that would be an awful lot. Can't wait to try these.
Yes 2 tsp. It’s also in the recipe below😊
Looking good!
Thank you ❤
Missed your sweet smile. 🥰
I cant wait to try these! :).
It sounded like you said 2 Tablespoons of corn starch and at the end said 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg. Could you clarify please. Thanks!
The written recipe is in the description. 😊
@@veevee111 I know it’s written out but just wanted clarification before I make these. ☺️
Yes Sandy that is correct. 👍🏻
@@Souperat60 Sorry, I’m confused. Which is correct?
Yes.. she did say Tablespoons, but written recipe says Teaspoons.. so.. wasn't sure which was correct...I made video a full screen and looked at which spoon she used.. she used the Teaspoon
I use mini chips because I'm not a fan of a lot of chocolate.
@@Nancy-xb6wh minis would be great. I have used those many times particularly in muffins. Thx Nancy. I sure hope you’ll subscribe😊
Oh my goodness to much talking get to the recipe already
