The Mrs has had hers a month now, when she test drove it she thought she could put up with the indicators, after a month now she says she really likes them compared to stalks. The thing she absolutely hates is the lane departure avoidance, it turns back on at the start of every drive and when you turn it off you get a permanent warning on the screen. It's on even on single lane roads, so when you steer to avoid potholes the car tries to steer you back into them! This is probably the biggest issue for us with the '24 model over the '20 model we had and is potentially dangerous. The wipers are bad, but no worse than any of the Model 3s, just no better.

I think you're right about the indicators getting easier over time. I love Tesla and it's so far ahead in terms of technology but where do you draw the line? The vision is really poor when the ultrasonic works. Develop vision then put in the cars. I found the Lane departure very aggressive but always enjoy piloting a Tesla! Best wishes Anthony

You can step forward beyond the screen, if you want. Push down the steering wheel volume command button. Say,"Open the glove box." Say, "Turn on the wipers." Say, any number of actions the system will quickly and easily allow you to activate or stop. Show that broad range in your next review. It's a feature you don't find in cars from yesterday. And it takes a bit of learning or at least recognition. Then you have that expanded capability.

      @anthonytube  7 месяцев назад +1

Thanks for that. Sadly couldn’t get it to recognise my accent on some tasks but you’re right it’s clever but losing stalks, physical gear selector isn’t great. Thanks

@@anthonytube What? Doesn't recognize your accent? That's a question for the Service Center to tackle. A primary feature isn't functioning. Tesla needs to address this. Imo.

@@anthonytube I use voice commands in my M3 often instead of the screen. It needs to work to use the car fully.

Public policy in the UK is so so far behind the rest of the world when it comes to electric cars. I’m not sure why

I made a bet when you said some things you” don’t like “ that you would say “ no stalks “ and don’t like the on screen gear selector … and sure enough…..
Here’s the thing… after a few hours people love it and it’s easy. People like to complain about what they don’t know about. Watching you work the controls you clearly don’t know how to work the car, so maybe you should learn how to use it before you complain? (Clue, press the car icon!!)
So here is some fact checking:
Turn back for cancel is not really a thing, the car uses AI to decide when to cancel the turn signals.
The most recent update makes the wipers really good.
If you want more water on the washers, HOLD DOWN the button.
The accent lights were set to automatic. So they went off, if you want them on set them to ON
The screen goes into night mode at night. That’s normal, you don’t like it, change the settings.
Sweeping the screen for drive is FAST , you can do 3 point turns faster than a gear stick ,
I don’t know what you’ve been smoking but the Volvo, polestar, byd, Mach-e, all have much louder road noise, maybe the Germans are quieter but the Tesla is way quieter than most electrics.
You say it’s the best but you whinged your way through the whole article. Everything ended with BUT.
All electric cars suffer from the same issues, if you lose the operating system the screens go off.
Obviously you’re working for Reuters or maybe china
I like honest reviews, I like hearing about “real faults” this review was nonsense.

You’re clearly a Tesla fanboy as am I. However I’m not biased and AI cannot predict two successive Mini roundabouts and on this ore update a long press on wipers is hit and miss. Also if you think Tesla has minimal roadhouse on less than perfect tarmac maybe you’re smoking something. We all love cars so shouldn’t be personal. Opinions are beautiful things and I respect yours.

Anthony mentions some problems on this brand new redesigned Model 3:
    Wipers are really bad
    Wipers get confused
    Turn signal stalk is gone
Losing the stalks is a *step* *backwards*
Road noise is still quite apparent
The 'tyre roar' is still there
Stereo has too much bass: door pocket *rattles*
Tesla is an 'iPad on wheels'
The central screen makes things really difficult
Electric cars have been depreciating like a *stone*
Tesla EV could lose 40 or 50 percent of value in 2 years
EV sales are diminishing in the UK
Of course panel gaps, paint, fit and finish are exellent on this *golden* *sample* car that is given to reviewers.
Will an average bloke get a car like that?

    • @anthonytube
      @anthonytube  7 месяцев назад +2

This was a test drive car not a press car. Regarding depreciation I refer to it in general. Tesla perform better but EV’s lose more vs an ICE car. Thanks

You seems to have very strong feelings against the car, how come?
I can agree on that it probably would have been better to keep the stalks and the autowipers aren’t a dream. But compared to most other cars it’s really more pleasant. Its quite, fast, the screen is great and most settings you rarely change so you don’t have to fiddle with it while driving. It’s cheap to drive, have cooled seats, you can cool down the whole car before you enter it on a hot day. It has way more luggage space than any ice car in similar size. It’s gets new update regularly compared to any other car that is an old version the minute you leave the dealership. It’s doesn’t pollute the air, the view out is better than most cars. Most people drive four cylinder cars that sounds shit and vibrates with no character. The need to wait for the gearbox changing gear and for the turbo to spin up. In the Tesla you have cameras filming the surroundings when driving and parking. You have built in media and awesome navigation and so on. Keep your “fantastic” dinosaur and let us who like’s progression enjoy our cars 😅

@@haolsen3607I think you only focus on the negatives not the positives! I say over again it's the best EV out there but as an owner you reacted defensively to my comments. I also drive an EV and will order the new Y when it arrives. Tesla leaps ahead of the competition but you have to agree on the negatives. Thanks

You can control the bass on the stereo with the tone control sliders.
The screen is easier to use than a cluster of buttons, once you take 15 minutes to get familiar with it,
The car will provide you reliable transportation for at least ten years, so depreciation is not much of a concern.

@@Garrison169 Stereo is great akin to my HK BMW system but to be honest door card shouldn’t rattle regardless of frequency. Also cluster of buttons especially for climate way more useable and intuitive on the move. Love love love Tesla but less isn’t more unfortunately at least for me. Best wishes Anthony
