Hey man - this was a great, straightforward, and detailed review. Thanks. Looks like you're in Southern California, but have you heard anything about how the Onyx RCR performs in the rain? Any idea of if rain is bad for the bike/battery and/or electric connections on the bike? Thanks again.
Hello and thank you for watching! You know I've never ridden that bike in the rain so it's hard for me to say but I can tell you this I have washed it with a hose quite a few times without any problems
Hello, yeah it does lose quite a bit of speed on hills it does not have a lot of torque, but it still does pretty good I think the optional larger battery would help it here.
I have a question. Speed has to be with range? For example if they claimed 70miles it means even if u going fast you will get same distance? Btw the dead spot on the throttle is normal even my scooter has that. Is for safety reasons.
Hello, actually the slower you go the more range you'll get because you're using less power, thank you for the information on the throttle I was not sure if other ones were like that.
Hello while it is not the most convenient e-bike battery to remove you can remove it to charge it, I guess I ride a mix of both bike lanes and traffic lanes
I really like the idea of this thing but isn’t this thing just gonna get stolen? It doesn’t look like you can lock this thing up on the bike racks and if you just park it somewhere for like an 8 hr work day someone’s gonna just pull up pick up the

wow, you're getting about 30 miles from a bike factory rated at 70 mile range? They must have based that on eco mode? I wish these damned companies would list the top speed and the range at top speed. Let's face it, that would make the bike more useable if you could use it on the road a little! A 60 mph bike should be able to do 60 mph and run at least 60 miles for a minimum before I become interested.
@@spydie it won't go 62 mph my Max is 50 mph, I don't think you would want to hold it at that speed for any length of time I feel that it would get way too hot as far as the range it would be terrible probably 10 or 15 miles lol.
@@samjohnson517 Thanks, Sam... That answers my questions. I need one for under $7000 that can do 55 (an honest 55, like a 125cc motorcycle can) and have a range of at least 50 miles at that speed. Of course we all really want a range of at least 60 miles but that might be pushing it. I like to ride the two-lane side roads near town and most of those roads are 55 mph but my little daily jaunts will add up to as much as 50 miles, so I need to be sure to be able to do no less than 50 miles and not in "limp" mode the last few miles to get home. I'm looking at the Silence made in Spain, but nobody carries them in the US.
@@spydie that is possible I don't know if you've watched any of my other videos but my Enduro bike can do 66 mph and has a 42 mi range maybe you should look at the one of those type of bikes. The only thing I would probably do different if you want to hold it at 50 60 MPH for a long time is go with the bigger motor the qs273 would run cooler. well if you're in Spain I think you have the bulltaco e bikes there I love those.
You nailed it! Get the bike youre excited to get the call about it getting delivered... thats why I keep buying all of them lol
Thanks for the direct insight. Great review!
I wanted something fast and can use to get to work and back I think Onyx was the right choice.
Nice to see a new video!!!
nice video, really appreciate your reviews

Cool little bike sam...have not seen many of them over here in u.k ...
Good video. How is the bike performance for going up steep hills on roads ? can it hold its speed ?
Hello, yeah it does lose quite a bit of speed on hills it does not have a lot of torque, but it still does pretty good I think the optional larger battery would help it here.
Was this filmed in simi valley, the creek/wash looks like the one where i live near
Hello, yes it was!
This would have came in handy as a kid
What’s the range if in sport mode riding aggressively!!! Thanks brotha for the video
Hello, I never tested it like that but I think it would be less than 20mi
The throttle being a half twist has absolutely nothing to do with safety that’s just what it comes with

Can you remove the battery to charge? I live on the 3rd floor. Also do you justbride in the traffic lanes or bike lanes?

@@samjohnson517 awesome thanks for the response. I'm looking into getting an ebike/motorcycle but they are pretty new I don't know where to start.
I know there are a lot of choices out there, go with the one you would be excited about the one that you can't wait to get!

Is this the shorty or standard size? Thanks!
It was originally the standard size but we put shorty shocks on it
I will save $3000 and get the FIIDO M1 PRO. 30mph is fast enough for me.
From the looks of it, I can ride this on the streets right I would rather use this than a car for a while.
Hello you should check with your local laws, over here it is considered a class 3 electric bike

Hello yes you can lock it, best to lock it around the frame near the cranks to the bike rack
Price?
$4149 at the time of this review

I hear you, they do the same thing in the Auto industry, sometimes I just don't know where they get their numbers.
