    Another great Peter Green lesson, now I can learn how to play it properly.

      Have fun with it. I found over thinking it made me push in tempo. It's all about relaxing in to the lovely tune.

    Great lesson, thank you. I’m really pleased you include bit of the slide part played originally by Jeremy Spencer as I’ve had ‘conversations’ with cover musicians who argue that it isn’t a slide part but that Peter Green bends the strings which does sound a little like slide! I know (a relative of mine played in the band at the time) it’s Jeremy playing slide!!!!

    Very tastefully done-Peter Greenbaum would have approved I'm sure!!!-really quite a simple song but its all in the feel and atmosphere. Timeless stuff-I remember hearing it on TOTP back in the 1960's (black and white I think) as a young kid and loving it and from there PAG was my man-I think its now been recently used on some TV advertisement! Never though about putting slide fills in but it works a treat-something to practice this weekend.Thanks.

      Thank you - that's really appreciated ! Sometimes its much harder to pull it back to let the track breath and this track needs lots of air. I was lucky enough to see him play quite a lot in the early 2000's - even then, master of the light touch and letting the space between the notes tell a story. Again - thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you like the arrangement :)

      Pedro. Yes, TOTP week comencing 11th Dec in the top 40 was Albatross, Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower and Love Sculpture's Sabre Dance all at the same time. And while that was happening, Jimmy Page was putting his new band together before unleashing the first Led Zeppelin album a month or so later. Exciting times.

      @@EwanMee2 Too right-just checked and Race with the Devil by Gun was also in the top 10-that & Sabre Dance I recall trying to work out on the guitar I had persuaded my Dad to buy me-never could manage Sabre Dance properly though!I think Sunshine by Cream was also around that time.They all sound great to this day.

    Love the arrangement you have put together. Such a beautiful piece of music to listen to and play. Never seen this arrangement before. Well cool! Have you done 'The Loner' by Gary Moore? If not- can you do, please?

    • @TroglodyteMusic
      @TroglodyteMusic  2 года назад

      Thanks Dave - glad you liked it :) For the arrangement, I just went with the 'of the guitars playing, what is my ear learning towards at any one time' and then pieced it together like that. ohh, I'll have a listen to the Loner ;) thanks for watching.

    Very nice. How do you get the tone?

    • @TroglodyteMusic
      @TroglodyteMusic  3 года назад +6

      Thank you. I generally have the amp loud and with a bit of grit - then I just pull it back to earth with the guitar so it’s quiet enough for the living room. I have the guitar with both pickups running, volume down to about 5 or 6 on both of them and roll the tone back to about 4 of the front pickup and roll the tone back to 8 on the back pickup the just gentle on with the plectrum. I find it then has the headroom to pluck a little harder for the one or two notes I really want to pull out.
