Peter Green is universally accepted as one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time. BB King famously said of Peter Green "He's the only white guy to ever make me sweat."
Peter Green's troubles since his departure from Fleetwood Mac in the early 70's are well documented. After a number of years in the wilderness he returned in the mid 90's in the guise of the Peter Green Splinter Group and recaptured the magic of his early days. This concert, recorded in England in 2003, is made up of two sets. The first is a pared down acoustic set of predominantly vintage blues finished off by the all-time Fleetwood Mac classic Albatross, one of the most popular instrumentals ever written. The second is a full on rocking electric set combining blues tracks, Splinter Group originals and other Fleetwood Mac classics.

First time I've ever heard Albatross I fell in love with it I still love it to this day it's such a beautiful piece of music. This year I lost my husband as well who was also 73. Peter Green was part of my youth just used to love listen to the group especially Peter Green he had such an unusual voice the whole band just clicked
never know what to say still do not but sorry to hear !!
It's a cold Sunday morning, and I've woken up to hear that Peter Green has died. Thank you for your music, with which our generation grew up with. Rest in peace.
Growing up in California in the 60's-70's...every time I hear this song it brings me back home. RIP Peter
Never the most notes but always the best notes. RIP and thank you Peter Green.
Thank you for making time stand still for 3 minutes and 26 seconds :)
Rest in peace, Peter Green.
Rest easy rest well thank you for the beauty you placed in the world with your Music ♥️❤️❤️♥️
What a musical genius, we were all alive to witness his talent!!, RIP top man!!.......
Within hours after hearing the statement of a former astronaut. Asked whether and if so which music he heard on the ISS, he said to remember hearing Albatross while watching from the cupola. Thanks Peter Green for so many wonderful pieces of music, have a good time in blues heaven and jam in peace.
Keep your religious delusions to yourself. The man DIED. ACCEPT IT.
R.I.P. Mister Green, Thank you for the beautiful music
Major influence on me musically. Wonderful songwriter, talented musician. Sadly missed, RIP Peter Green XxX
Let your spirit soar joyfully into the universe, at peace, at last.
a musician who has accompanied me my whole life, thank you greene, see you in heaven
ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED, UNDER APPRECIATED GUITARISTS OF ALL TIME.
I always admired him!
There seems to be always at least one who makes this comment about someone who is well rated, appreciated and respected. I suspect the comment always reflects a subjective opinion.
The most underrated guitarist ever...
WHEN HAS PETER GREEN EVER BEEN “UNDERRATED” or “UNDER APPRECIATED”?!?!

Your question is clear proof of your utter stupidity. Test me. Just go out on the street and start asking everyone you see, "What do you think of Peter Green." Then ask the same people, ''What do you think of Eric Clapton or Jimi Hendrix." My original statement is 100% correct, in spite of you moronic comment.
Rest in peace, ancient Mariner....
Really good comment bro
how can anyone dislike this .....?
+notlrachtron some like to be arsehole's, never even picked up a guitar...I thought that was lovely....
Because Peter Green isn't really playing anything to speak of. The guy to his right is doing all the heavy lifting. Green hasn't been right since March 1970.
Because they can't tell the difference between a guitar and their backside. Just trolls.
Because he used to be the best British Blues guitarist, & it's sad that he can't play guitar anymore.
@Glen W
He's just a twat!
to the poster of the vid: BB King did not say anything about Green being white. What he said was: "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats"
Correct. I've been quoting BB saying this about Peter for decades, whenever I hear someone say "Who's Peter Green?". Said it to somebody unfamiliar with him just the other day when we got the bad news. RIP to one of the only guys who could say it all with a single note, like BB, Albert, etc.
That's precisely what he said. How can he or anyone, say anything else? "God love you Pete Green. You will live forever here on earth!"
Yes, indeed he did!

I'm so glad I got see see and hear him in the Splinter Group. Just to see him back on stage was pure emotion.
Yep, An amazing experience. Thank God I got there too. Guildford in my case, with a few other mad keen Peter Green fans
love you and your music peter. rip to a genius and a legend.
fly on albatross
The difference between a good musician and a great one is soul. He had it.
One of my favourite "songs" of all time. A masterpiece !
What a hero so glad he got over his illness and is playing again!!
cry cry cry
Oh God I'm crying
I was not at all ready for such a huge loss. I am truely devastated 😢💔. My you rest in peace 💔🙏
Saw him live and was the best night ever!
Breathtaking... heaven waves, ocean swims, albatross sings and plays...
RIP an incredible legend 💕
How long did it take me, as a 70's teenager and listening to T Rex, Alice Cooper, Sweet and so on, understand what this man was doing? Picked up the guitar at 17, it was Status Quo, Grand Funk, Sabbath and all that stuff. But when I first heard "Albatros", tears ran down my eyes...huu...something beautiful has touched me deep inside
I was fortunate to get hipped to F. Mac around 1974, I think, via a cutout (bargain) copy of "Fleetwood Mac In Chicago", the USA 2 lp version. Played several songs from that album in blues bands after that, in the '70s, such as "Ooh Baby" (his adaptation of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor").
I was fortunate to have two older brothers who introduced me to the original Fleetwood Mac. 😁💚☮
Same here. Beatles, Led Zep, Purple and then, I got turned on to Oh Well Pts. 1 & 2. WOW, what a spiritual experience. Been a fan ever since. RIP Peter.
All great things will end at some point. Rest in peace, Peter. ❤
RIP Pete...we have to say goodbye to you...but still have your music...Thank you..
Thank you Peter Green for the music,....
RIP Peter Green. One of my Favorite Songs. Silent, touchiert, emotional and a Film Starter in my Head...
Absolutely gorgeous!
Beautiful! Great to see and hear he's ok after going so many dark times. Bravo Peter Green, you will always be one of the best.
What a beautiful simple piece. Rest in peace Peter.
Beauty full music by an amazing guitarist and legend. I am so blessed and grateful to have heard and experienced the music the original Fleetwood Mac brought to the world.
that was a beautiful performance. I was lucky enough to see Peter Green with Fleetwood Mac in Boston and ...wow.... just glad I had the honor. you will be missed ,but will live on in our hearts forever.. RIP Peter

Spread your wings and fly free Peter. You were the greatest. Love you.
Master of they're art.
PG you gave us so much through the years. To me this is one of your best tunes. Such a magnificent talent. You will be missed. RIP
So peacefull love the soul of the music.
The Ritz Bournemouth 1968. What a show that was. Sweaty, smelly, beer soaked club full of atmosphere. Thank you Peter for the memories. When I asked Jeremy Spencer at Chicago Blues Fest what he remembered of the late 60's gigs he replied 'virtually nothing'.
Pleasure for ears and soul.
Peter ....gracias por tanto ...de Argentina 🇦🇷✌️👏
,one of the greats will be sadly missed
RIP Peter...such a great talent. ❤️❤️❤️
RIP, Peter. You were one of my first guitar heroes.
Absolute magic......................never get tired of this

Just fly and dream. Really beautiful, I love this song since a long time ago.
Poignant and a touch sad. But I remember Peter Green from the past and that lifts my soul. Thank you PG, it's good to just be beautiful.
l k00
Just timeless Puts you in a place you want to be
I feel like every time I listen to Albatross my mum & Dad are giving me a long loving cuddle, that’s Scottish for hug😊
Can't stop won't stop listening to the early Peter Green's enchanting tunes after your ardent tribute, Fil. In the first version there's much of the sea waves wash, in this one - hovering over the troubled waters of life. Thank you, Fil!
RIP Peter Green.
To a gentle man and a huge talent. You have gone but your beautiful work lives on. Rest in Peace, Peter Green.
Peter will live on forever in his music,.
Absolutely brilliant...in a class of it's own...so tranquil. l remember it well when younger and it still has the same deep emotion setting....RIP...Peter..
Rest in peace maestro!
This man is a fkn legend, RIP brotha
A troubled, brilliant musician who will be remembered forever. Rest in peace, Mr. Green.
He still has impeccable timing.
God bless you Peter Green.
its called a tight band, Peter has lost the plot completely and its almost embarrassingly awkward a his live shows.
same goose bumps as when i heard the original back in the 60,s but i have a feeling this is how they wanted it to sound fantastic long may good music last
RIP Peter Green, what an artist
I love this song
One of my favorite Songs of Peter Green, In peace go to the heaven, Peter!
Peter Green was an Icon...but we have to remember that these guys like Peter Green....grew up listening to Les Paul and Mary Ford...whom are pretty much unmatched to this day....especially for Guitar Duo's.
Tears too. Albatross has always been a track that I have always relayed to friends going through their personal trauma. It appeared to help with pretty much all. The track, to me, always meant transition.
Thanks Peter.
RIP✌🎸 one of the greats!!
Excellent
I will sorely miss him. What a beautiful musician he was
In an alternate universe Danny would be sitting next to Peter creating magic together again but sadly not in ours. RIP Lads.
Wonderful memories listening to this❤️
Beautiful soothing music. 👍👍👍
Utterly beautiful.
Loved this song for over ever.
Beautiful
THANK YOU 😊
Uma das obras primas de Peter Green,um guitarrista maiúsculo!!!!
Beautiful ....
Not a great lover of acoustic being an old punk , but that’s something special mesmerising.
This is simply brilliant!
I saw Peter Green play live in about 1996 at a pub in Wiltshire in the garden. The Crown at Everleigh.
Sweet music .......RIP ...
Touches the soul
RIP Peter Green..........
Still beautiful
Rest in peace.
Very sad, his passing, but he's left us his beautiful playing
RIP to one of the greatest
Awesome, such brillant and it works acoustically.
Love Peter Green
John Lennon said that he this song inspired him to write Sun King on Abbey Road.
Michael Clonts pretty epic to create something that inspired John Lennon, and the rest of the Beatles too! RIP Peter Green! Another great gone!
Spot on you right
Michael Clonts yep, and Peter Green was inspired by Santo and Johnny’s “sleep walking” when he wrote this
did not George say 'Let's play Albatross'?
Lennon stated that he didn't like Sun King. Actually, he didn't like a lot of the Beatles songs.
