Isak Hermansson having not played this game, but the first 2 gba crashes and seeing your comment, i was wondering how this one could be bad when the others were pretty good. I understand now.
What I find interesting about this game is that they used the Crash Nitro Kart model for the animations that weren't in The Huge Adventure or N-Tranced, while the animations that were in those games were copied from those games, so Crash constantly switches between his Huge Adventure model and his Nitro Kart model.
the "low poly" nitro kart model was just the crash 2 model with the default face. The CNK model itself was likely based off of that without the artists taking into consideration just how much the model actually contorts its own proportions for animation
I had both games spyro and crash and gosh they were so bad (yet amazing for the 5-6 years old me) I just remembered about them after those decades. Amazing nostalgia. Grats on that tas
Yes, that is indeed how the first bossfight goes. If you want to know what Vicarious Visions was thinking here, you have to ask them yourself I guess...
With a single cartridge one can only obtain 120 cards: 99 out of the 100 Crash cards and 21 of the Spyro cards. Any more cards have to be traded over from Spyro Fusion by linking two cartridges
The missing card is the Polar card which you get by linking your game with another copy of Crash Fusion, so it can't be obtained with a single cartridge.
I know this comment is way late but how are you killing those enemies by just running into them? Also, are you using a trick cause if not, you've got some finger speed!
If I remember correctly this is done by pressing the jump button on the frame Crash collides with the enemy's hitbox; for some reason the game counts this interaction as jumping onto & killing them.
I assume you ask this because in the video, the box "You win! [name] card" which usually pops up after getting a card is being skipped before the text appears--so as a viewer one can't know what card I precisely got at which point. However when making the TAS, in the first pass of for example spinning a wheel I let the animationplay out to see what card I got. If it was a card I still needed I went to a previous frame and now made an 'A' input to skip the textbox, this is what you see in the video.
Nicely done, dude. I love this TAS of this terrible, yet somehow, good game.
