I really liked the first Deadpool. I wasn't BLOWN AWAY by it because I tend to gravitate towards more serious movies in general, but I certainly had a good time. From the look of the trailers, I think DP2 might be even better in every regard, just like John states. I can't wait to check it out this weekend! It's a damn shame this and Infinity War are so close to each other, they would have probably made even more money otherwise. I hope Solo doesn't affect either of them too much.
So far this year we've gotten Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and now Deadpool 2. Is it fair to say that this is the best year for superhero movies of all-time? Looking at other years, I think 2018 might have that title right now: 2008- The Dark Knight and the start of the MCU with Iron Man (2 great movies) 2012- The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises (2 great movies, although one is divisive) 2014- Captain America: Winter Soldier, X-Men: Days of Future Past and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 (3 great movies) 2016- Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool and Doctor Strange (3 great movies) 2017- Logan, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok (4 great movies) 2018- Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2 (3 great movies, with one being the most critically acclaimed superhero movie of all-time and the other about to be a 2 billion dollar movie that was HIGHLY memorable for audiences)

AMEN JOHN! Just saw it today and I personally liked DP2 more than DP1 and Infinity War, if you ask me. In terms of pure theatrical enjoyment, I absolutely found DP2 to be the better experience.
I found Deadpool OK. Didn't blow my mind like it did everyone else. But one of the reasons for me was the budget. It made the movie look cheap. I like the look of 2. Looks like a studio superhero film so at least aesthetically I already like 2 more before I watch it.
Whoa John You forget to mention the Kid, Russel...his acting was amazing and so convincing, I totally can feel his character. I think we're going to see him a lot from Hollywood.

I just saw the movie... Absolutely loved it! Everyone that loves Marvel or DC is gonna enjoy this movie greatly. The only thing I am worried about is that there will be many people that aren't that much into superhero movies in which case 70% of the jokes may fall flat for them. I'm not saying there are no other jokes but as you can expect from Deadpool most of them revolve around this genre. There were a few people that left the cinema you could see that they were completely out of the movie and weren't enjoying themselves, most likely because they don't enjoy superhero movies but heard Deadpool is funny. The majority of people however were having a blast and everyone just waited patiently in the end for the after credits scene. A bit more I can say about the movie is that I wasn't sure Josh Brolin was going to pull off Cable. But now after seeing it he totally owned the character every time he was on screen. The end credit scene was epic. Ryan Raynolds plays the DP exactly as brilliantly as he did the first time around. Colossus was awesome again. The action scenes were even more brutal and epic than the first one imo. I'm not gonna say anything else other than go see this movie! TL:DR Amazing, funny, epic, R RATED AS HELL, lots of 4th wall breaks. A lot of the jokes might not be for you if your not fan of the superhero genre.
I am going to correct you there John, yes I know opinions vary but still...a correction. Hugh Jackman was not born to play Wolverine. He just did a great job with that version of the character. Had you seen him prior to even a casting mention than you would not say "that guy would be perfect for that role". Now Patrick Stewart as Xavier, that is a casting were you go "that makes a lot of sense". Kelsey Grammar as Beast makes sense. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool makes sense...all of this is prior to be associated with the roles. I really liked Hugh as Wolverine but he is not "perfect" in the role. He never felt like the Wopverine I was introduced to back in uncanny xmen 256-257 and really started following in Xmen 1 by Claremont and Lee.
I agree that comic book Wolverine would be better represented by a younger Joe Pesci or Danny Devito after 12 months in a gym with a coach. They would definitely need the Pratt treatment. Jackman is way too tall, but he had the personality down.
A return of a familiar X-Men nemesis that goes by "I am the XxuggerXxT vs Colossus fight was the only weak point. It's reminiscence to the Black Panther vs Killmonger CG fight. Just saw it 3 hours ago and honest to god I loved this movie... never spent this much smiling and laughing through a movie for a while. Great cinema experience and it’s so much fun!!!! I personally liked it more than the first movie, and the new characters are brilliant (domino is a new fav)! Go see this ASAP for a bloody great time
Just came back from the midnight premiere and damn... after john hypped me upfor this film, i was kind of dissapointed. the action was kind of meh, the humor this time around wasnt always that great, the story was very unfocused.. i was kind of in shock that ppeople said it was better than infinity war.. don't get me wrong.. i did enjoy the movie a lot, but saying this is better than infinity war is like saying superman 2 is better than the dark knight.
I watched it yesterday. Was great fun. Not sure if I liked it more than the first one, but it's quite close. Need a few more viewings before I can make the decision. Still, infinity war is on top for me this year and I doubt any other movie will dethrone it. Highly recommend everyone to see Deadpool 2 though. It has amazing action, extremely fun moments and at times, it was honestly quite dark and emotional and it all works very well together.

Saw it at an advanced screening last Thursday and had pretty much the same reaction. Loved it, loved Domino, Cable is great, it's hilarious, action is insane, MAY be better than the first, MAY have enjoyed it a little more than Infinity War. All in all, DP2 is a fantastic sequel that I had an absolute blast watching. And, yes, stay for the mid credits scene. Probably my favorite one of all time.
Add another actor (rip), shouldn't even need to mention who he is, who was born to play their comic book role. Can't believe he wasn't mentioned. Thumbs up if you know who I'm talking about.

no spoilers here...coming out after Nonfunity Wars there was the bad taste in the mouth of seeing both Black Panther and Spiderman fade away which was instantly dismissed as they would not permantly kill them off, if Mbaku and a few lead ladies such as Angela Basset faded before the eyes of Black Panther then we might have sensed the loss as more probable to be fixed, and if then Stark called not only Pepper, Aunt May, Agent Hill/Fury at the end credits to get no reply,,,"Dick move Thanos..." but that's me wishing to be screenplay writer again, but Deadpool 2 end credits were a riot, how bonkers to see what not only happened but thinking just how crazy he could get "playing with it" beggared belief,, a very long time since I came out from a movie feeling that high...
Good. I can't wait to watch Poolman but I don't agree about Hugh Jackman was born to play Logan. He's a good actor and I enjoyed his portrayal but a Tom Hardy could kill the role as well.
Jpsh Brolin, Only the Brave, Thanos: Infinity War, I mean Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2. Brolin is as hot an actor at the box office as anyone could be.
Loved it, but one big disappointment for me but I’ll wait till spoiler talk. Also there is only one end credit scene so you don’t have stay till the very end. Cable and Domino were so badass, loved them
I've seen the first one so many times that it's not as funny anymore. There's a few lines that are still hilarious but when you can see the jokes coming and recite them it's kinda lackluster That's why I think I enjoyed this one more. And also I feel like it actually was better in terms of pacing and character development. And the music was good too so yay. 9/10
You know the last time I was told about an awesome, GOAT post-credit scene, it was Cap America basically telling me that I sat through the credits for so little. Just gonna assume that the post-credit scene everyone is talking about is one huge joke, possibly taking a shot at Avengers Infinity War.

I watched it yesterday. Was great fun. Not sure if I liked it more than the first one, but it's quite close. Need a few more viewings before I can make the decision. Still, infinity war is on top for me this year and I doubt any other movie will dethrone it. Highly recommend everyone to see Deadpool 2 though. It has amazing action, extremely fun moments and at times, it was honestly quite dark and emotional and it all works very well together.

I'm catching an early pre-screaning tonight and I so can't wait.
Saw it at an advanced screening last Thursday and had pretty much the same reaction. Loved it, loved Domino, Cable is great, it's hilarious, action is insane, MAY be better than the first, MAY have enjoyed it a little more than Infinity War. All in all, DP2 is a fantastic sequel that I had an absolute blast watching. And, yes, stay for the mid credits scene. Probably my favorite one of all time.
Add another actor (rip), shouldn't even need to mention who he is, who was born to play their comic book role. Can't believe he wasn't mentioned. Thumbs up if you know who I'm talking about.

I was trying to figure out which Deadpool 2 review to watch first. I think my viewing order will be Campea, Collider, Jeremy Jahns, Screen Junkies, and we will see what else gets uploaded next.
I can’t wait I have been waiting forever and it’s gonna be awesome never doubted it for a second. Maybe when they lost Tim Miller but when I found out they got David Leach right back on track. I fucking love Ryan Reynolds for bringing my favorite character to life. Thanks for your opinion John this is exactly what I wanted to hear and I just can’t wait to see it. I seriously might see this 10 times

no spoilers here...coming out after Nonfunity Wars there was the bad taste in the mouth of seeing both Black Panther and Spiderman fade away which was instantly dismissed as they would not permantly kill them off, if Mbaku and a few lead ladies such as Angela Basset faded before the eyes of Black Panther then we might have sensed the loss as more probable to be fixed, and if then Stark called not only Pepper, Aunt May, Agent Hill/Fury at the end credits to get no reply,,,"Dick move Thanos..." but that's me wishing to be screenplay writer again, but Deadpool 2 end credits were a riot, how bonkers to see what not only happened but thinking just how crazy he could get "playing with it" beggared belief,, a very long time since I came out from a movie feeling that high...

Good. I can't wait to watch Poolman but I don't agree about Hugh Jackman was born to play Logan. He's a good actor and I enjoyed his portrayal but a Tom Hardy could kill the role as well.
I wasn't bowled over by Deadpool but Deadpool 2 is better than Infinity War at the mopment for me. Loved it.
Jpsh Brolin, Only the Brave, Thanos: Infinity War, I mean Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2. Brolin is as hot an actor at the box office as anyone could be.

This movie had more emotional weight and the third act fights were awesome!
Love how people expect cinematic masterpieces from Superhero movies. (Dark knight does not count because many comic aspects were taken out).

I've seen the first one so many times that it's not as funny anymore. There's a few lines that are still hilarious but when you can see the jokes coming and recite them it's kinda lackluster
That's why I think I enjoyed this one more.
And also I feel like it actually was better in terms of pacing and character development. And the music was good too so yay. 9/10
You know the last time I was told about an awesome, GOAT post-credit scene, it was Cap America basically telling me that I sat through the credits for so little. Just gonna assume that the post-credit scene everyone is talking about is one huge joke, possibly taking a shot at Avengers Infinity War.
