Buzzfeed doesn't need to choose between two continents, it puts Russia (as well as Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan) simply in both continents because they're focusing on making it a purely geographical question (not a history, economy or culture question).
Or simply put: they're drawing a map of (a certain, legitimate definition of) the continent/land mass that is called Asia, and see if their contestants can label the regions within the drawn borders correctly. (Note how they didn't include Kaliningrad Oblast nor Western New Guinea in the map.)
