This type of last lap move is what NASCAR wants to happen. This isn't breaking the format, it's enforcing it
Best Xfinity finish of all time and it's not even debatable. You literally can not get any bigger or better than that.
0 doubt about it
“Youll never have to answer that stupid question again”
“NEVER AGAIN”
Case in point why the *Xfinity Series is the best series in NASCAR*
Congrats to Daniel Hemric for not only his first ever win but for his first title!!!
No it's just cup guys are cleaner usually
yep best racing and best battles for probably the last 4 to 5 years.
@@brapa1190 ya thats the problem with the cup series, everybody tries to be a goodie too shoes, and then when there's contact you're called a hack. Imagine if denny or harvick was in that 22 car, they would be having such a fit.
@@brapa1190 the cup cars are easier to drive, also the severe aero dependency does not allow the cars to really run close together.
Finally Hemric is a winner and a champion. LETS GO HEMRIC
You can tell that Daniel Hemric was trying to do everything he could to not wreck Cindric. Yeah, he roughed him up in 4, but he could've easily turned him. He didn't.
I will remember this moment forever. Hemric finally got to do the Backflip. Woo. 😅
Same, this will be something I'll never forget
If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ reply
Carl Edwards did the backflip for 16 years. Not like Hemic is doing something new
@@LiveFreeDieFit I didn't actually get to see Carl Edwards do his first Backflip in NASCAR. I didn't have Speed channel. Pfft
@@LiveFreeDieFit well there is a difference between the two backflips Carl edwatds from the window hemric from roof so there's that n also who cares
1:07 *HEMRICK'S* GONNA GET IT ON THE LINE!!!!!!!! (LOVE THE EXCITEMENT ON HIS VOICE)
This is one of the biggest moments in Nascar History. Winning a first race, then a championship at the same time…
It’s going to be a running joke forever.
I don't think this has ever happened before. Not in NASCAR, anyways.
@@nascarfanatic2425 Maybe only in NASCAR. After all, things have to be set up just such a way to allow for this in the first place. I'm not sure I like it.
@@BeefGold Even though I’m happy for Hemric’s First win, and a championship, I don’t think it’s not normal at all in every aspect of racing, so you’re right
Its actually pathetic.....
Daniel Hemric is officially the first driver in NASCAR history to have the same number of wins and championships.
Besides all of them with 0 and 0 of course
Bill Rexford would like to have a word with you
@@randomreviewsrebooted5156 HE at least got TWO WINS before a championship.
@@turbokart3776no he did not
Random comment: big time appreciation to Rick Allen for that call. That was probably the best call of his career
Homestead 2016.
Lol true. One of Rick's best calls ever. It was genuine and not canned/recycled
Agreed!! It gave/gives me chills just listening to. Easily one of Rick's best calls ever that I'll never forget!
Why do people hate him, he’s made some amazing calls, Chase Elliotts first win, #7 for Johnson, the near perfect season of Truex and Larson, Ryan Blaney vs Ryan Newman at Talladega, and a few more that I’m forgetting
Yeah his call of Suarez win and championship was epic 2
Anyone that has a problem with Daniel's bump in 4 is NOT A NASCAR FAN. That was a classic bump and run that Earnhardt Sr. made a living on, and great last lap beating and banging is what it's all about. Even Cindric was a class act about it in the interview. If you want to win a Nascar race, you better not allow the guy in 2nd within bumper-touching distance on the last turn.
Congrats to Daniel Hemric! Hopefully winning his first race in the most important race of the year made up for the long wait!
bump and run???? thats a body slam not the same thing.
@@ironmancod5 for the cup I don’t think it matters it’s on the line
Love it
I like to see any driver win a race on the last lap making the pass clean without touching the lead car. I don't think it can be done. A challenge to all Cup, Xfinity or Truck driver.
Exactly that was awesome!
By God, we got a new Cousin Carl. I'm gonna start calling him Cousin Danny.
Not to mention Daniel won his first NASCAR national series race the same day Carl got his last ever NASCAR national series win, wanna know the real ironic part? Dave Rogers was the crew chief for both drivers in their respective wins
1:04. "Out of four! They're side by side! Hemric's gonna win it at the line!"
2:44
The Burnout of the Year Award Winner starts
Daniel's final numbers other than 1 W for the season are actually championship level worthy. He led nearly 700 laps and only finished off the lead lap only twice all year. He finished 2nd many times but he was deserving of this championship.
Honestly, he was not. All year long Austin Cindric, AJ and Allgaier(and starting playoffs also Gragson) have been better than him. When people talk about him finishing second justifying how good yet unlucky he is, they don't consider 8 runner-up finishes from Austin, 4 from Justin Allgaier and AJ apiece compared to 3 from Hemric. And that's the case with almost every statistical category. But hey, sure, when you drive for one of the best teams in the sport averaging slightly good results yet being winless and clinch the championship just because the system is bs and all you have to do is just dump your opponent(which I don't have a problem with, its racing) and people have the audacity to say he deserves it, it must be this way then
@@jasonzander3021 IMO, my only complaint is the Playoffs themselves. I do not feel any regret that Hemric won.
@@jasonzander3021 The Giants and Dodgers all year long were better than the Braves, except when it counted.
@@kebobs3727 I mean your analogy makes sense, but Cindric had it in the bag until the last lap when Hemric got loose and moved him up the track and Gragson had momentum winning at Martinsville, so I'd argue they were better even when that counted, it's just the nature of motorsports when drivers can get screwed over by somebody or something else that doesn't even battle for the championship that played a crucial role here
The driver deserving of the championship will ALWAYS be the guy that accumulates the most points throughout the entire season. End of story.
BLEGH 🤮🤮🤮 🗑🗑🗑
Across many years of this sport, the one thing that it has kept during all the change is one simple fact:
It doesn't matter how many laps you lead. The only one that matters is the last one.
Hemric did exactly what Cindric would have done in the same situation reversed! Cindric earned respect tonight!
Even more respect that Cindric kept his composure in his post race interview despite the fact you can clearly see and tell Dave Burns was trying to push him to get mad at Hemric for that last lap move
I wanted Gragson to win it, but I'm so happy that hemric finally got to win a race, and what a race to win to get your first career win in any series. Congrats to Daniel Hemric, definitely one of the greatest moments in nascar history, you can't change my mind on that
Inb4 Daniel Hemric goes beast mode next year with Kaulig Racing like former BKR teammate Tyler Reddick did in 2019 except with RCR
I was hoping hemric would with with 0 career wins. Make nascar look stupid
Nascar already looks stupid!
LETS GO BRANDON!
2019 and 2021 truck series did it for you.
What a finish. No other words. You can't draw up a more storybook finish.
Wow, did that Carl Edwards back flip bring back memories!!! Congratulations Daniel Hemric! Now, it better be Martin Truex Jr tomorrow!! 😊🇺🇲
Well I got news for you….
this aged well
Destroy the NASCAR playoff format
the playoff format is never going anywhere
@@johnhaas2523 okay NASCAR corporate butt kisser.
I was there, one of the best races I’ve ever seen and one of the best finishes as well, WOW Hemric!!
Get this guy a cup ride
GREAT RACING BY EVERYONE!!!!! I LOVE MY NASCAR FAMILY!!!!
That bumping and colliding....when the championship is at stake and the other car is also racing for the same...it's just racing! Even better is that Hemric's first win seals a championship.
4:49 THE LEGENDARY BACKFILP CONGRATS DANIEL HEMRIC🏆🏎🏁
So, Hemric is the only driver along with Crafting to break the system
Ain't it kinda weird that a guy that never won before is now the champion. You would think the guy with the MOST wins would be the champ.
Matt Kenseth would like to have a word with y’all. There’s nothing wrong with the format and everyone can get over it.
I mean he won a race at this point, so your point is kind of a mute point is it not?
@@RJonz48 Nowadays you can really tell how long someone has been watching Nascar just by their comments on social media, lol.
Andrew N my point is just because you don’t have the most wins or no wins at all (or up until the last race), doesn’t mean it’s not deserving. So if you know me so well please tell me how long I’ve been watching NASCAR and I’ll get back with you.
The most consistent driver won, isn't that what we all wanted?
Hemric needed this so badly. Go 18
Inb4 we see Daniel Hemric go on a tear next year like his former teammate and fellow Xfinity Series champ Tyler Reddick did in 2019 considering they both won their respective titles in similar fashion
Great race. Congratulations to Daniel Henric. My heart ached a little for Noah Gragson when I saw his car scrape the wall in those last few laps. I knew that would take him out of contention, but I’m really happy for Daniel. No controversy and a fun race to watch.
Someone who never won should not even be in the final 4. If anything this "championship" shows how broken the current points system really is.
He was really consistent though. That helps.
@@ethanhenrichs5677 sure.
I second this statement.
This format provides us with the most exciting racing week in, and week out. It’s a shame you don’t like it, because I have had a great time watching races since they changed the format.
Lead over 700 laps, fairly pointed his way through every round. Finished 2nd a ton of times and an average finish of 5.3, seems deserving to me
First career win and his first championship, congrats to Daniel Hemric
Best finish of the year

Took him long enough lmao. After five years of driving for elite teams, he finally wins his first NASCAR race driving for the same team Ty Gibbs won four times with this year in his rookie season. Dude should have at least 25+ career wins right now.
And how many wins you got?

Last Time #18 Was Champion is Kyle Busch in 2019 Cup Series
On this night, me and my homie are shooting pool at the bowling alley. The race is on the projector. My buddy hasn't kept up with nascar in years. I told him that Hemric has never won. We both just witnessed a winless Daniel Hemric win a Nascar Championship. Holy f**kin sh*t! I'm speechless.
I called it! Hemric wins his first race and the title. That is freaking story book for him
I am beyond words happy for Daniel Hemric!! And the moment he and Cindric were side by side across the line, Rick called the moment just perfect! One of the reasons why I enjoy listening to his commentary so much. And this is a HUGE reason of what being a fan is all about, moments and historic finishes in the sport like what we witnessed tonight. And Rick, thank you for such a perfect call across the finish line all the way to Hemric's Carl Edwards backflip. Everything about this night was perfect. I will never forget witnessing it and the Edwards backflip. Congratulations Daniel, forever a NASCAR winner and champion!!
1st win and a champion!! Way to go Daniel!!
Hemric honestly should have won the 2018 championship so I'm glad he got redemption
Wait so cindric wasn’t racing for the monster energy cup this year? He just raced a few races in the top level?
He wants racing full time in the nascar cup series. no such thing as monster cup any more so pay attention. Austin is full time in the 2 car next year
I’m just happy to see another backflip
Hey cup driver from most of media coverage last week watch Cindrics I just lost interview. I can send it via FedEx if you need.
Well, if this doesn't prove the playoffs are broken I'm not sure what will
Everyone complains about the playoff format until it benefits a fan-favorite.
Happy he won, playoff format is still garbage.
I mean you could go back to around 2005 to 2010 where cup guys would win the at that time Nationwide championship with 3 races left in the nationwide season.
@@TellaSignTV Yeah, Exactly.
Even Though I Want NASCAR To Bring Back The 2004-2013 10 Original/OG Chase Format With The 2004-2006 10 Driver Format, NASCAR Would've Seriously Been Consistent By Getting Rid Of The Elimination Format, For The Not Only The Cup Series, But For The NASCAR Xfinity Series And The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series As Well.
So, I Take The Original 2004-2013 Chase Format, Over This So-Called God Awful Crappy Copied Horrible Useless Playoffs Elimination Format System.
Trials like this deserve rewards, congrats Daniel Hemric!
Wow
Now that's a nice burnout 👌
Well done young man 🏆
Yes yes yes.
This is why I like The Camping World Truck Series and Xfinity Series more than the Cup Series.
Same here. Theres a lot more dramatic battles, people with something to prove, and less overdependency on Aero
Hemric never won until tonight
Even though I am a Chevy and JRM/HMS fan I was actually pulling for Hemric. That really was awesome to see him do what he did. If I recall, he will be with Kaulig next year so I happily welcome him to the Chevy family. Chevy is my make but I do have drivers I pull for who drive Ford and Toyota like Harvick and Rowdy. Anyway, back on topic Congrats again Hemric! You earned! P.S: Was this pulling what some would call a "Newman"? LOL. JK.
No, he pulled a Crafton or Kenseth
Haven’t won a race put if I crash this guy that’s won all year I will win and become champion! Well done nascar!😂 last time I checked championships are made by winning! This last race of the year and the winner of race becomes champion is a joke!
Wild how he wins for his first time and also wins a championship. Congrats but WE ALL KNOW THE POINTS SYSTEM IS TERRIBLE!!!!!
Will Kyle Busch win tomorrow as the whole weekend only number 18 cars have won so far?
Kyle is good here at Phoenix. Definitely a good chance
I love this series. I’m ok with the playoffs. But if you don’t win you shouldn’t get to win the championship. But overall congrats Daniel you deserved it.
This is why you play the game or run the race. You never know when a 10-6 team is going to beat a 16-0 team when it matters most and you never know when a driver who's never won will win when it matters most. That's what separates winners from champions.
Winners may win alot, but champions win when it matters the most.
If you are always running in the top 5 then I think that means that you deserve being champion. He had 10 second place finishes, that is some impressive consistency
Anyone gonna tell them?
Lots of wins ≠ Championship
What sport does the person who win the most in the regular season equals championship??
@@itzdrama2350 You can win the most in the regular season until you're blue in the face, but if your other finishes aren't good then you still fall flat. What part of that do you not understand?
The 10 wins series NASCAR cup & infinity serie and F1, unbelievable stunning last gap pass for the win & title incredible, he win it on the line just world class and the celebrating back flip just legend it's unimaginable that this season has happen what an year 🤩🤩🤩🥳
2021 called the winner takes it all year
Max Verstappen need 10 wins in F1 to become the new F1 world champion, hemric & larson also got 10 wins and become NASCAR champion
Congrats I can't be more happier for Hemric well done Hemric fan for life
Is Phoenix such a boring race that the only highlight for a championship race is the final turn of the final lap? Same with the truck race. I don't even watch this snoozer race. I just go to RUclips to find the winner. NASCAR should make Talladega the final race and let the cards fall where they may!
Just got an autographed carshop 1/24 came back and rewatched this!! Lionel should definitely think of making a raced version photo finish set???

An awesome finish to a good Xfinity series season. Way to go Hemric!
Good for him , but isn’t winning the most important thing to nascar ?
Fun fact: Hemric made the championship 4 in 2017 as well
Could've won the title that year too if his battery didn't decide to go die on him
Wow, not only his first win, but his first championship ON TOP of that! Congrats to Hemric!
Badass burnout!
Whoaaaa! what a finish 🤝
Two True Champions at that finish……great season guys!
Epic
That's how you get it done..
That's good hard racing.
Dramatic A final lap at Phoenix
Classic finish
Gotta be honest...as much as I appreciate Hemric breaking the curse when it really counted, I'd almost prefer he win the title without the race win. He's the poster child for persistence and consistency in this age where winning can get you into the playoffs even if you run worse than BK Racing equipment (Sorry Buescher lol)
Happily take this regardless, I just appreciate Crafton's 2019 title without a win and would love to see Xfinity or Cup follow suit one day as unlikely as it may be
I was there! We were all representing BRANDON.. congratulations Hemric!!
You mean Daniel?
I’m not a Gragson fan at all, but he should be the champion because both Cendric and Hemric completely violated that final restart. Allgaier did the same thing earlier in the race and was penalized for it. NASCAR modifies the rules as they go along. What a joke.
He'll yeah baby..in ur face cindric..hemric took it away this time!!!
I didn’t think that Hemric had it in him. He was the poster boy for nice guys always finish second. To be successful in racing (any series) you need to have controlled aggression to win.
