I personally think the Spen on the front screen would be more useful, or both screens have it. The front screen would be more useful for the quick notes, jot a number down on the front screen real fast, no need to open the phone.

Long time NOTE user. Currently using the Note 10 plus but the Zfold with cover and pen is on the way! p.s. The Note 4 was the best phone ever made in my opinion. Still have it. Still works but not for today's tech standards.
Just pre-ordered the Fold 3 with the s-pen case and included pen, and a new charger. Took advantage of the trade in specials. Trading in several of my old tech, but keeping my Note 20 Ultra for the moment. Can always sell the Note on Swappa if I like the the Fold enough. Wish they would have just released a Note!

That is true! Reviewers are naive and uninformed about the artistic side. For me it is also not an issue the pen does not fit inside the device. I need an bigger pen as an artist, I see this device replace my ipad for drawing on some occasions. Have an note 9 for two years now, it was not there yet. Hopefully the drawing experience is better on the fold 3 and ready for some serious work on the go!
My 2 concerns are: - Drawing across the fold - If the retractable nib affects the pressure levels I have the note 10+ and the bigger screen and larger pen would be perfect (if they work at least as good as my current device) A shame its only on the internal screen too but we cant have it all I guess. Next year they might make the pen internal and usable on all screens.
The crease is unnoticeable when viewing it at the intended angle which is straight on. My Fold 2 has been serving me beautifully, and I only see the crease when I turn the screen to a different angle to show something to a friend. It's like the 3d function on the 3ds, where facing it straight towards yourself makes it perfect, but changing the viewing angle will show you the crease.
I work in IT and have used the Note series and the S21 ultra to take thousands of notes with the s pen over the years. The Z Fold 3 will give me more screen real estate. I can't wait!
I really wish Samsung would've made the SPen magnetic to the phone itself. I also think they could've found a way to make use of the power share feature to power the fold edition pen to use the Bluetooth features, and also to power the Spen pro, so I don't have to remember to plug something else in.
While that sounds cool, imagine putting the phone in your pocket with the pen magnetically attached. Until they can put it inside the phone, the case is gonna have to do. I guess samsung knows this, because if you pre order the fold 4 it comes with the case and pen for free.

As a fellow long-time Note user, and one looking to upgrade soon, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on picking up a Z Fold 3 now vs. waiting for the (hopeful) release of the next Note? I do use mine for drawing, and the extra screen real estate of the Z Fold 3 is very tempting. I'm also having a hard time imagining what a new Note (22?) might offer above this, beyond some potential boosts in hardware specs.
I used the Galaxy Note series every year since the two. (Yes this includes the disastrous year when I had to send my phone back because the battery exploded). I even had the Note edge! Samsung has announced that there will be no note this year for certain. I would honestly be surprised if they ever release one again now that the s line and the fold line both except the Spen. I have owned the zfold2 for a full year as has my wife. I do not think that I could ever go back now. Even though the outside display is a little small swipe texting works perfectly. After owning the note line for so long I had forgotten how amazing it is to comfortably use a cell phone one handed. The durability on both phones surprised me! I drive a big rig on and off construction sites. As you can imagine the inside cab of my truck is pretty dirty. My wife works at a horse barn for her second job. As you can imagine the barn is also very dirty. The phones have held up perfectly! Both of our phones are getting traded in for the new generations 3. Since we both work outside the waterproofing means a lot. Additionally the s pen excites me. What I am trying to say is go for it! I think you will really like it! If you are really on the fence Samsung has a option on their website that allows you to try the phone for 30 days without paying a dollar. Just don't be surprised if you are sold after the very first fold!
Problem with many tech reviewers is they don’t tell us the negatives as they afraid of losing review and pre launch units from Samsung in future. A spen video but he didn’t mention how is the spen experience on that crease. I am sure its not a pleasant experience when you are writing in speed and that crease comes
Just ordered the Z Fold 3; unfortunately, while I was fiddling around in my order, they ran out of the S pen and cases, so while I will have the certificate to save on the case and S pen, it will come later. Definitely plan on getting an S pen; wanted it while I was ordering, but it wasn't to be. Ah, well. Don't mind waiting a few weeks for the case, the charger and the S pen!

The phone alone in your hands is SO sleek, it's hard to handle and can be at higher risk of dropping. However, beware of the case shown here. The Spen is NOT magnetized to the case and can fall out easily. $100 to replace just the pen. Happened to me, I claimed it's a faulty case and was sent a new case, but the case remains faulty. Now I wrap a ponytail band around the entire case to make sure the pen doesn't slip away again.
Id say yes coming from note20ultra user. Because this two device are completely different so the experience is definitely worth but if u dont really need it. U can wait and stick with note for now
You lose microsd card, better camera on Note 20, integrated spen, dust protection, better waterproofing and bigger screen as well when watching most videos...so i dont think it s worth it...unless you really want the 7.6 inner screen
Pre order my fold three in green. So with the regular s-pen, it’s not Bluetooth so how does it connect. I just wanna write down notes from time to time. Should I just go with the pro or regular
You just need the regular fold spen, the Bluetooth version would be overkill for your use case. The Bluetooth version is for copy/paste between multiple devices. For the regular fold spen, it detects when the tip is near the screen and there should be a little button to toggle the air menu on/off when the spen is near the phone.
The s-pen in the Note charges while being stored in its dedicated slot to enable its bluetooth features...Does the fold pen not have bluetooth features?🤔

Yes it is a flap. I'm kinda concerned that the slap will not hold back around the s pen which would basically make the outside screen unusable one-handed. To me that defeats the purpose and makes me very sad! I picked one up with my pre-order using the store credit they gave me so I guess I will find out! I did order the Spigen slim armor pro off of Amazon too just in case.

How does the crease effect drawing? If for example you draw a fairly concentrated cross hatching across the seam\crease, is it noticeable? It would drive me crazy if I used this for sketching or digital art and the crease distorted my sketch lines ? I also use CAD a lot so may be OK for that. I am a long time Note user, back to Note1, but always frustrated by screen real estate so I am quite keen on purchasing this device but I am holding off until I can personally test the Spen and the crease. What's the writing experience when writing over the folded part of the screen? Does it feel as bad as going close to the edge on the note series? I really wish they would give the note a flat screen. Reserve the curved edge for the regular S series. I'm looking at getting the fold 4 when it launched. Annoying they don't have Bluetooth in the smaller sized pen. Also annoying you can't store the pen in the phone.
I like the idea of the S Pen case made by Samsung. However, it seems kinda bulky and heavy... and only one color choice. Hope there will be other case makers to release more options similar to this case function.

I'm a die hard Note power user. I use the pen for a lot including work, my concern with this is that it will be bulky with the pen and case, I hate that idea of covering the beautiful phone design just because of the case. They should have housed the pen inside like the Note series or maybe give us a case with pen that doesn't cover the front screen. What do you think about the case and the above statement? Could you give some detail on the accessories available from Samsung. You're the only channel I've noticed with the different cases and s pen available. I mostly curious about the flip cover case and how usable it is on the go when using the front screen(while the device is closed) and if it's magnetized, whether it dangles around if not held in place(when the device is opened and when it is closed).
So yeah I'll hold off on buying this until the market plateaus on this design and it gets to the point where it can't really get no better like a typical smartphone is now that way when the next year's version comes out it really won't be that big of an upgrade and I won't feel as bad having the previous year's version right now these devices are still in Prototype stage

I have several galaxy devices (Tab S7+, galaxy book pro 360, S21U, Note 10+) and I want to know how the Bluetooth functionality works on these devices, I know that it will function similar to the Note's and Tab's S-pen, but I was wondering if the bluetooth functionality transfers to the laptop as well, as the previous laptop (Galaxy book flex) had bluetooth features.

I notice you didn't mention pressure sensitivity. That's important to an artist. Also how it feels, going across the crease.

I am a long time Note user, back to Note1, but always frustrated by screen real estate so I am quite keen on purchasing this device but I am holding off until I can personally test the Spen and the crease. What's the writing experience when writing over the folded part of the screen? Does it feel as bad as going close to the edge on the note series? I really wish they would give the note a flat screen. Reserve the curved edge for the regular S series. I'm looking at getting the fold 4 when it launched. Annoying they don't have Bluetooth in the smaller sized pen. Also annoying you can't store the pen in the phone.
Does the spen case cover up the gap between the inner screen when closed?

Me to not sure. My biggest concern is it's going to be poor battery and the camera won't be anywhere near as good as the note 20 ultra

I'm a die hard Note power user. I use the pen for a lot including work, my concern with this is that it will be bulky with the pen and case, I hate that idea of covering the beautiful phone design just because of the case. They should have housed the pen inside like the Note series or maybe give us a case with pen that doesn't cover the front screen.

Could you give some detail on the accessories available from Samsung. You're the only channel I've noticed with the different cases and s pen available. I mostly curious about the flip cover case and how usable it is on the go when using the front screen(while the device is closed) and if it's magnetized, whether it dangles around if not held in place(when the device is opened and when it is closed).

So yeah I'll hold off on buying this until the market plateaus on this design and it gets to the point where it can't really get no better like a typical smartphone is now that way when the next year's version comes out it really won't be that big of an upgrade and I won't feel as bad having the previous year's version right now these devices are still in Prototype stage

I have several galaxy devices (Tab S7+, galaxy book pro 360, S21U, Note 10+) and I want to know how the Bluetooth functionality works on these devices, I know that it will function similar to the Note's and Tab's S-pen, but I was wondering if the bluetooth functionality transfers to the laptop as well, as the previous laptop (Galaxy book flex) had bluetooth features.
