Monet would enjoy looking at this painting! He would critique it, because that is the way he was, but he would stand back and admire it! I had no idea the canvas "ripples/waves" so much when painting such large pieces. I'll cool out if my smaller pieces do the same. Excellent! I learned a "ton" from watching this video. Thank you!
Your work is inspiring! I have 2 questions: (1) What are you looking at in your hand while painting? (2) Is it true that you never put one color on top of another, but rather side by side?
She is working from photographs. It is correct, she does not layer but works wet-on-wet so the brush strokes don't actually overlap but creates more of a mosaic effect.
I admire your work so deeply, Erin! It is really inspiring to see you painting: i would always wanted do try impasto technique but I am really struggling with it. I would be really interested how do you achieve this "volume" and these really thick, beautiful brushstrokes? Do you use some kind of impasto medium?
THANKS ERIN, IT IS STILL AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL SIX YEARS LATER !!!!

Beautiful Erin. How long did it take you to complete this painting?
Thank you! This one took a bit to complete due to the size. Typically she does at least a piece a week.

Hello! She uses oils and liquin. I hope this helps!
Do you let the background dry before putting color on top of it?

Beautiful! Were you able to sell it?
This painting was acquired in 2017 by a private collector.

jeez its wild seeing you put in some accents. as if they were always there
What colors do you use?
you have Van Gogh, Monet and Thomson together.
do you really make all of those colors using just 4 or 5 colors?
She does! The base colors depend on what she is going for. I hope this helps!
Correct. There are a few videos of Erin mixing her palette in RUclips.
amazing
