Never be anyone else just like Nanci, a rare talent with pen, guitar and voice - Miss her so much - Thank you for these memories - John Hawkins, North Bucks, England
In the late 70's through the mid 80's I was acquainted with Nanci. The songs in this set, most of which in a few years would be dropped from her repertoire, remind me of those days. RIP Nanci, you'll always be a sweetheart.
This was very lovely. I only first heard her after she passed. The guitar was loud and she knew it. But she still sounded great. What a sweet pure voice and soul. I loved her.
From England ..a question. How do you spell Mickey Murkins??? Never heard of that artist but would like to search more.. Correct spelling anybody?? Thanks.
Nanci: I'm not going to talk about politics. (20 minutes later) Nanci: Hopefully Ron and Nan will be moving somewhere else come November. (note: I love it)
That was sorta the one thing I didn’t like from Nanci was her affection for the side of the political spectrum that was supposed to be ‘for’ the common man and the less fortunate but actually has caused so much angst for poorer americans from white to brown to black. I don’t think comfortable poverty, minimum wages, or government support helps anyone, and trapping the lower income folks into relying on government support strips them of their dignity. But she had a good heart, an outstanding sense for lyrical delivery, and created some of the best recorded music of the 20th century regardless of genre. What a fantastic person she was- and it showed in her music.
