I just did a tire repair for a couple from North Vancouver that are hunting for a big buck here on the island it's pissing down snowing rain up on the mountain
Kind of an ongoing debate, but most people believe that they strike out of anger. They're trying to kill anything that they perceive as a potential threat to their spawn. Same reason that roe is such an effective bait; they are trying to get rid of competition.
I'm using a 7ft medium heavy. Think the lure rating is 1/4-3/4oz. You won't feel much action on the jig since it's falling on slack line. If you find you're getting snagged, gotta twitch faster or go to a lighter jig.

There is a lot of finesse to your jigging. Some of the best I’ve seen. Haven’t done it much and trying to see how you do it. Really nice fish!
Much appreciated 🙏
This looks like fun! 👍 Except for the other guy...
That friggin guy who posted up directly across from you though. 😂
He was chill. Didn't even flinch when I was casting at his feet haha. I'd be nervous, someone casting that close to me.
The champion!
Funny those 2 guys just showed up on the other side. What were they thinking, they are on Vedder!
All good with the other guys fishing. Didn't slow me down none.

They say lots of people have good luck chasing blacktail in the ugly weather.
Sick video. The jig was my top producer this year by far, it’s such a good tool
They were stacked in there. Love to see you hammering them brother. I love some good twitching. Mm mm. Right on 👌🏻👏🏻
awesome vid i fish that spot all the time its beautiful
Another banger video bro👍👍👌👌
Are they striking The Lure out of anger or hunger?

What action/power rod are you using? I often can't feel the action with jigs and just end up snagged on bottom. Thanks for the video!
